The introduction of data redundancy

You can also find related Interview Question to Which of the following database design features is most important to SQL performance?  below:

You are creating a database on multiple disks that will be queried intensively by users. What are some steps that you can take to improve performance and avoid disk contention?

You could use disk striping (RAID) to increase performance.

A secondary strategy would be to use filegroups to improve performance, especially placing the transaction log file(s) on a separate disk from the data file(s) to avoid disk contention as SQL Server queries the database and records actions in the log. Also, filegroups could be used to separate a portion of the data files requiring frequent backups because they are actively modified.

Database Concurrency in Sql Server.

When two or more user try to update same type of data in a table then Database Concurrency helps in this situation.

There are 2 types of Database Concurrency

Pessimistic: When one user try to change the data with pessimistic concurrency then a lock is placed on the data in a table so that another user cannot change data. when one user finishes then other user can able to change.

Optimistic: When two user works on the same data in a table and one change that data first then second user cannot change that same data becasue the which he have using is allready changed so he cannot do the change becasue change apply to another data that is changed by first user. (More...)

How to decide on the design consideration to take a Datagrid, datalist or repeater ?

Many make a blind choice of choosing datagrid directly, but that's not the right way.

Datagrid provides ability to allow the end-user to sort, page, and edit its data. But it comes at a cost of speed. Second the display format is simple that is in row and columns. Real life scenarios can be more demanding that

With its templates, the DataList provides more control over the look and feel of the displayed data than the DataGrid.

It offers better performance than datagrid Repeater control allows for complete and total control. With the Repeater, the only HTML emitted are the values of the databinding statements in the templates along with the HTML markup specified in the templates-no "extra" HTML is emitted, as with the DataGrid and DataList. By requiring the developer to specify the complete generated HTML markup, the Repeater often requires the longest development time. But repeater does not provide editing features like datagrid so everything has to be coded by programmer. However, the Repeater does boast the best performance of the three data Web controls. Repeater is fastest followed by Datalist and finally datagrid. (More...)

What is cyclomatic complexity and why is it important?

Cyclomatic complexity is a computer science metric (measurement) developed by Thomas McCabe used to generally measure the complexity of a program. It directly measures the number of linearly independent paths through a programs source code.
The concept, although not the method, is somewhat similar to that of general text complexity measured by the Flesch-Kincaid Readability Test.
Cyclomatic complexity is computed using a graph that describes the control flow of the program. The nodes of the graph correspond to the commands of a program. A directed edge connects two nodes, if the second command might be executed immediately after the first
command. By definition,
CC = E - N + P
CC = cyclomatic complexity
E = the number of edges of the graph
N = the number of nodes of the graph
P = the number of connected components (More...)

Can SharePoint be linked to a SQL database?

This is possible via a custom application, but it not natively supported by SharePoint or SQLServer. (More...)

How many Files per database will accept?

32,767 files are the maximum number in SQL Server 2005 (More...)

Name of the command to view the current amount of free (unallocated) space in the database in SQL Server?

Name of command is :sp_spaceused

This command displays the database_size in MB, and it's also shows unallocated space for the database. (More...)
