What is cassini?

Posted By :ASPEvil     Posted Date :August 30, 2014    Points :40   Category :.NET Framework
Visual Studio comes with a in-built small server which is called cassini. When we run an ASP.Net
web page, then that page gets run by this small in-built server, until we explicitly set the IIS
to run our webpages.

You can also find related Interview Question to What is cassini?  below:

what is main difference between IIS and ASP.Net development server(Cassini)?

IIS does not lock the page while it is running the page. But Cassini lock the page
on the Visual Studio, while it is running the same page.

IIS is a service and hence it is required to register an user with the Operating System (Windows). Since cassini
is an application, it does not reqiure any user registration with the Operating System(Windows). (More...)
