What is Cross-site publishing?

Cross-site publishing lets you store and maintain content in one or more authoring site collections, and display this content in one or more publishing site collections.

Why changes in the Master page dose not visible to all users on publishing site?

If the Publishing feature is activated on the SharePoint site, Changes made in master page are not visible to every users even if the changed master file is checked in. It must be approved by Site Collection Administrator.
To make all changes visible to every user,
1)We need to select "Publish a major version" option while 'checking in' the master page file (in SharePoint Designer).
2)Log in with the Site Collection Administrator on SharePoint Site navigate the 'Site Settings' page and click on 'Master Pages' under 'Web Designer Galleries'.
3)Find the master page that we have changed. In the ECB (Edit control Block) menu, click on 'Approve/Reject' option.
4)After approving the changes made in the master page will be visible to all users. (More...)

cross page posting in ASP.NET2.0???

When we have to post data from one page to another in application we used server.transfer method but in this the URL remains the same but in cross page posting there is little different there is normal post back is done but in target page we can access values of server control in the source page.This is quite simple we have to only set the PostBackUrl property of Button,LinkButton or imagebutton which specifies the target page.In target page we can access the PreviousPage property.And we have to use the @PreviousPageType directive.We can access control of PreviousPage by using the findcontrol method.When we set the PostBackURL property ASP.NET framework bind the HTML and Javascript function automatically. 3) Click on Go to Site Administration

5) Choose one of the three conditions on what Anonymous users can access:** Entire Web site** Lists and libraries** Nothing Default condition is nothing; your site has restricted access.
