Visual Basic/Visual C#
Public/public All members in all classes and projects.

Private/private Members of the current class only.

Friend/internal All members in the current project.

Protected/protected All members in the current class and in classes derived from this member's class. Can be used only in member definitions, not for class or module definitions.

What is regression testing

Regression testing is re-testing after fixes or modifications of the software or its environment.
The selective retesting of a software system that has been modified, to ensure that any bugs have been fixed and that no other previously working functions have failed as a result of the modification and that newly added features have not created problems with previous versions of the software. What are the three level of testing ?

1. Uint testing
2. Integration testing
3. Regression Testing (More...)

What is Unit Testing ?

Units are the Smallest building blocks of an Application. In Visual Basic .Net these building blocks are often components or class definations.
Unit testing involves performing basic tests at the component level.
It typically requires writting special programs that use the component or class being tested. (More...)

What is integration testing ?

Integration testing verifies that the major subsystems of an application work well with each other.

Integration testing can be performed in any of the following ways :

1. Bottom-up approch
2. Top-down approch
3. Umbrella approch (More...)

What is Regression Testing ?

Regression Testing should be performed any time a program is modified.
Goals of Regression Testing :
- Verify that all known bugs are corrected
- Verify that no old bugs have been reintroduced
- Verify that the Program has no new bugs. (More...)

What are three test cases you should go through in unit testing?

Positive test cases (correct data, correct output), negative test cases (broken or missing data, proper handling), exception test cases (exceptions are thrown and caught properly). (More...)

What is unit testing? What are benefits of Unit testing?

In computer programming, unit testing is a method by which individual units of source code are tested to determine if they are fit for use. A unit is the smallest testable part of an application. In procedural programming a unit may be an individual function or procedure. Unit tests are created by programmers or occasionally by white box testers.

Benefits

1.1 Facilitates change
1.2 Simplifies integration
1.3 Documentation
1.4 Design

What is difference between TDD and Unit Testing?

In TDD the unit test is written first and method second. Development is driven by the unit test.

In ordinary unit testing, we write the required method and after that creates a unit test for it. This is to ensure long run integrity only. (More...)

What is the different between Black box testing, White box testing and Gray box testing?

WHITE BOX TESTING: The team tests the internal logic's of the code. The code for the application is tested. It typically includes checking with the data flow, exceptions, and errors, how they are handled, comparing if the code produces the expected results. It is also known as the "Glass Box Testing".

BLACK BOX TESTING: The team tests the systems without any knowledge of how the system is being made. The functionalities are checked here. The application is tested here. Test cases merely check if the output is correct for the given input. User is not expected to the internal flow or design of the system.

GRAY BOX TESTING: It's the combination of both white box and black box testing. This is because it involves access to the system; however at an outer level. A little level of system knowledge i expected in Gray box testing. (More...)
