How do the sub sites work?

Posted By :Gowthammanju     Posted Date :November 30, 2011    Points :40   Category :SharePoint

You can create a sub site for various categories. For example:

Departments - finance, marketing, IT
Products - electrical, mechanical, hydraulics
Projects - Trey Research, Department of Transportation, FDA
Team - Retention team, BPR team
Clients - new clients, old clients
Suppliers - Supplier 1, Supplier 2, Supplier 3
Customers - Customer A, Customer B, Customer C
Real estate - property A, property B

The URLs for each will be, for example:

http://yoursitename.wss.bcentral.com/finance
http://yoursitename.wss.bcentral.com/marketing

You can keep track of permissions for each team separately so that access is restricted while maintaining global access to the parent site.

How does CAS work?

The CAS security policy revolves around two key concepts - code groups and permissions. Each .NET assembly is a member of a particular code group, and each code group is granted the permissions specified in a named permission set.
For example, using the default security policy, a control downloaded from a web site belongs to the 'Zone - Internet' code group, which adheres to the permissions defined by the 'Internet' named permission set. (Naturally the 'Internet' named permission set represents a very restrictive range of permissions.) (More...)

Of course, if you do develop Web sites, then the .NET Framework has a lot to interest you-starting with ASP.NET. (More...)
