Name the LayOut Management controls in SilverLight?
What are the different Layout controls available in Silverlight?
There are three controls available, they are;
StackPanel - this will position the child elements either in horizontal or in a vertical manner.
Grid - This will position the child elements in either columns or rows.
Canvas - This will position the child elements according to X,Y space.
What are server controls?
ASP.NET server controls are components that run on the server and encapsulate user-interface and other related functionality. They are used in ASP.NET pages and in ASP.NET code-behind classes.
The context menu can be applied for the following controls ?
What is the difference between login controls and Forms authentication?
Login controls are an easy way to implement Forms authentication without having to write any code. For example, the Login control performs the same functions you would normally perform when using the FormsAuthentication classâââ‰â¬Âprompt for user credentials, validate them, and issue the authentication ticketâââ‰â¬Âbut with all the functionality wrapped in a control that you can just drag from the Toolbox in Visual Studio. Under the covers, the login control uses the FormsAuthentication class (for example, to issue the authentication ticket) and ASP.NET membership (to validate the user credentials). Naturally, you can still use Forms authentication yourself, and applications you have that currently use it will continue to run.
How many types of validation controls are provided by ASP.NET ?
There are six main types of validation controls:-
RequiredFieldValidator: It checks whether the control have any value. It's used when you want the control should not be empty.
RangeValidator: It checks if the value in validated control is in that specific range.
CompareValidator: It checks that the value in controls should match the value in other control.
RegularExpressionValidator: When we want the control value should match with a specific regular expression.
CustomValidator: It is used to define UserDefined validation.
ValidationSummary: It displays summary of all current validation errors.
Where is image data loaded into ImageList controls actually stored in the project?
Each form has an associated resource file (with a .resx extension) where image data and localized strings are stored. You can see this by clicking the Show All Files icon in the Solution Explorer.
What is Automatic Memory Management in ASP.NET?
Automatic Memory Management: From a programmer's perspective, this is probably the single biggest benefit of the .NET Framework. No, I'm not kidding. Every project I've worked on in my long career of DOS and Windows development has suffered at some point from memory management issues. Proper memory management is hard. Even very good programmers have difficulty with it. It's entirely too easy for a small mistake to cause a program to chew up memory and crash, sometimes bringing the operating system to a screeching halt in the process.
Programmers understand that they're responsible for releasing any memory that they allocate, but they're not very good at actually doing it. In addition, functions that allocate memory as a side effect abound in the Windows API and in the C runtime library. It's nearly impossible for a programmer to know all of the rules. Even when the programmer follows the rules, a small memory leak in a support library can cause big problems if called enough.
The .NET Framework solves the memory management problems by implementing a garbage collector that can keep track of allocated memory references and release the memory when it is no longer referenced. A large part of what makes this possible is the blazing speed of today's processors. When you're running a 2 GHz machine, it's easy to spare a few cycles for memory management. Not that the garbage collector takes a huge number of cycles--it's incredibly efficient.
The garbage collector isn't perfect and it doesn't solve the problem of mis-managing other scarce resources (file handles, for example), but it relieves programmers from having to worry about a huge source of bugs that trips almost everybody up in other programming environments.
On balance, automatic memory management is a huge win in almost every situation.
What is the best place to start Silverlight application?
There is no hard and fast rule to start Silverlight application. Every developer can start as per his/her experience.

templates for creating Silverlight applications and libraries in C#
and Visual Basic.
Can you elaborate how to start a silverlight application with Visual Studio?
You can find a fully described article from http://www.silverlightclub.com/resources/1858-silverlight-lets-start-building-applications.aspx.aspx
In the following step(s) I am giving the ideas all about:
1.Create a project:Here you just start your visual studio, Select your programming language [C#/VB], Choose Silverligh Template give the name and save it
2. Adding SIlverlight COntrols:One thing is happened here, controls cannot dragged onto the designer, you can draw/drag the controls on XAML page.
(a) Naming to control:In this step just give the name to your silverligt control like for Button you can give name as : btnmySilverligtButton
(b)Adding event handlers to Silverlight controls:Here you can give the event handlers like for click etc.
(c)Testing Silverlight applications in Visual Studio:Now just press F5 and test your application
What happened when I press F5 within Visual Studio to run Silverlight application?
When you run the Silverlight application within Visual Studio, a new folder created in the web-site project for silverlight solution and it happened only first time. The folder name is ClientBin and having package with XAP extension which contains compiled project.
How does Silverlight 2 differ from Adobe Flash?
As I am from .Net background so in my views you can get C# / Vb.net compiled code but in Flash there is only action script.
You can find difference in depth at : http://silverlight.net/forums/t/3015.aspx
Can I add more than one .xaml pages in silverlight application?
Yes, you can have multiple .xaml files in a single project.
In the App.xaml, in the method Application_Startup you can choose, which page you want to
What is Silverlight Tool Kit?
To create an application or game you need to design, code and give some extra feature to your output.
To do the above, you need some controls, IDE etc.
Silverlight Tool kit is nothing but is a collection of Silverlight Tools, Components etc. It includes source code describing the all you need to develop an application.
