1. Thick coaxial cable is also referred to as thicknet.

2. 10Base5 refers to specifications of thick coaxial cable carrying Ethernet signals .

3. The 5 refers to the maximum segment length being 500 meters .

4. RG-8 coaxial cable is used.

5. A 15-pin female DB connector called AUI connector is used to connect the device .

10Base2 -An Ethernet term meaning a maximum transfer rate of 10 Megabits per second that uses baseband signaling, with a contiguous cable segment length of 100 meters and a maximum of 2 segments.

10Base5 -An Ethernet term meaning a maximum transfer rate of 10 Megabits per second that uses baseband signaling, with 500 meters of continuous cable segments not exceeding 5 segments.

N.B:-In 10Base2 and 10Base5 LAN Co-axial cables are used.
