Parallel foreach c# 4.0

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Windows Application
Dear all, I have in a datatable (dt ) some informations  that I have to match with another datatable (dsSparato.Tables["riscontro"]) . Then I wrote the piece of code below   /* CODE */  foreach (DataRow rowspar in dsSparato.Tables["riscontro"].Rows)                 {                                                             var selectedRows = from r in dt.AsEnumerable()                                        where r["barcode"].ToString().Trim().Equals(rowspar["barcode"].ToString().Trim()) && r["codicearticolo"].ToString().IndexOf("ZCOL") == -1                                   &nbs

Concurrent Affairs: Data-Parallel Patterns and PLINQ

Multicore processors are now ubiquitous on mainstream desktop computers, but applications that use their full potential are still difficult to write. Version 4 of the .NET Framework will deliver several tools that programmers can employ to make this task easier. This article explores the use of one of those tools: Parallel LINQ (PLINQ).

Parallel Debugging: Debugging Task-Based Parallel Applications in Visual Studio 2010

In Visual C++ 10 and the Microsoft .NET Framework 4, Microsoft is introducing new libraries and runtimes to significantly ease the process of expressing parallelism in your code base, together with new tool support for performance analysis and debugging of parallel applications. In this article, you will learn about debugging support in Visual Studio 2010, much of which is focused on task-based programming models.

Parallel Receive Action in Pick

HI,  i have a new question... yes, another :-) I have a Pick in my WF and three PickBranch. The trigger for every PickBranch is a Recive Activity. In my "Action" body i have some activities and, next, a Response Activity. So, when i revice a request from client, one of the trigger go on. That's ok. But how can i make the three Revice parallel? Normally when i had called Operation1, next call to Operation2 or Operation3 are serialized and served after the PickBranch of Operation1 is completed (because i have a While->True loop). But i would a way to start Operation2 and Operation3 (for example) in parallael, when, for example, Operation 1 is in exection. The Parallel Activity is not good for my scenario because i don't would made the calls for all Recive to complete the "Parallel".   Can anyone help me? Thanks

How to execute a set of steps N time, in parallel?

I have a custom workflow activity that creates "tasks" for users to do.  Tasks are shown to a specified user when they log in to the web site.  When this step runs, it takes in a userId, creates a task in the database for that user, and then sets a bookmark.   When the user goes to the web site, they see their tasks.  When they push a button to complete a task, the bookmark is resumed and the step ends.   So far so good.  The problem is that the design now calls for the workflow to be able to kick off multiple tasks for multiple users, and that all the tasks be started at once (that is, its not good enough for user #1 to receive a task, complete it, user #2 receive a task, complete it, etc.  All the users should receive their task to start with, and then they can finish them in any order.)   I can't do this serial with a for loop, since then there'd only be one task "outstanding" at a time, and they'd have to be completed in order.  I can't simply modify the custom activity to take in the multiple pieces of data, because there's a lot of other items that happen in the workflow that need to be done before and after the custom activity for each task.  What I'd really like is something like the Parallel activity, where I create the branch and place all the tasks, but then I can assign the number of times

foreach activity?

HI, I retrieved data using IdataReader in class file. I want to use that returned IDataReader dr in foreach. In design mode XAML, dragged foreach. Now what is the Type Argument and Values I need to keep in FOREACH Properties?

OLE DB Destination issue in ForEach Data Flow

Has anyone encountered the following problem:I have a ForEach container with a single task in it - a Data Flow. The Data Flow uses a Source Script transformation to read each file and writes out to several output streams, each of which is connected to a OLE DB Destination. The ForEach executes for each file (in my example 3 times) but only the data from the last execution is in the DB tables. This from is my output window:SSIS package "PIF.dtsx" starting.Information: 0x4004300A at ETL Audit, DTS.Pipeline: Validation phase is beginning.Information: 0x4004300A at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Validation phase is beginning.Information: 0x40043006 at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Prepare for Execute phase is beginning.Information: 0x40043007 at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Pre-Execute phase is beginning.Information: 0x4004300C at Load V6 Policy, DTS.Pipeline: Execute phase is beginning.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Policy, stg_RiskLocation [5449]: The final commit for the data insertion has started.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Policy, stg_PDMRFeed [5277]: The final commit for the data insertion has started.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Policy, stg_Policy [5208]: The final commit for the data insertion has started.Information: 0x402090E0 at Load V6 Policy, stg_RiskLocation [5449]: The final commit for the data insertion has ended.Information: 0x402090DF at Load V6 Pol

Error on 23rd Loop of Foreach

Hi, I have a MAster Package callling 8 Dimension Package and 5 fact table packages. Fact table Packages are in for eachloop. They have to loop 24 times during FirstRun Each fact table load more than 500000 rows in every loop, and out of 5, two package loads more than million rows in every loop. I got the following error message when the package was looping for the 23rd time. One of the five Fact table package failed with following error DTS primeoutput failed returned error code 0xC02020C4 SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTFAILED. The PrimeOutput method on component "Staging Table "(1) returned error code 0xC02020C4. The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component, but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing. There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure. After when I ran package explicitly, it ran well Please help on what to be done to avoid this error and what does this error mean?. I am Using SQL Server 2008, i5 Processor, 3.42GB RAm, DefaultBufferMaxRows = 10000 and Default BufferSize 10MB, EngineTHread=10 Thanks, Anuja

Parallel Groupings are not showing the data in Reporting Service 2008.

Hi All, My main goal is to show rows under two adjecent groups (say A another one is B) which have one parent group lat call it as AB (all are row sections) and i have one column group for "months".The details inside the group A under the "months" group is not showing any values or expressions it returing me blank. Adjacent groups in SSRS 2008 still shows blank lines for invisible rows (why?). Any ideas. Please let me know. Veeren.

ForEach Loop Container Configuration Question

So here is my question/situation. I have a table that contains a list of all of our servers/instances for my organization. I have a script that I'd like to execute against all of the servers in that list and I was thinking that I should be able to use this container to pull the name/instance from the table, execute the script, store the results in a local table. However, I'm not quite sure on how to attack this meaning not sure which configuration that I would need to use to get me going down the right direction. I've looked around and found alot of documentation on how to enumerate multiple files and folders, but nothing really for what I'm trying to do. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.Big Ern

Forcing parallel plan for CPU limited queries

I have a simple query: INSERT tableB SELECT SomethingSlowFunction(value) FROM tableA SomethingSlowFunction is a bunch of trigonometric function calls on many columns of the table, all pure T-SQL, no CLR involved. The query is CPU limited (100% on one of the 8 CPUs). If I change the query a little bit (i.e. add a SORT BY) that will cause parallel execution but the sort will take a lot of resources (tempdb munching). Any tips?
