Binding a property within a style - in code

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF
So if I had a style as follows <Style TargetType={x:Type Button}> <Setter Property="Background" Value={Binding myproperty} /> </Style> How could I achieve this in code? So far I got Style x = new Style(); Setter a = new Setter(TextBox.Property, new Binding("myproperty")l but there seems to be something wrong with the way I set up the binding, how can I correct it? Thanks

I have a listview in which I want to show an image from an xmldatasource control.

The following works, and shows the value of thumb (in this case: 12_634232073402187500_whatever.jpg)

<asp:ListView ID="repLocationsToCompare" ItemPlaceholderID="itemsGoHere" runat="server">
            <%# XPath("thumb")%>
<asp:XmlDataSource EnableCaching="false" XPath="root/data/compare/locations/location" ID="XMLDSCompare" runat="server"></asp:XmlDataSource>

No problem there, BUT, when I use an imagecontrol:

<asp:ListView ID="repLocationsToCompare" ItemPlaceholderID="itemsGoHere" runat="server">

Binding an ObjectDataSource to a property in aspx code, not code-behind

This should be simple to do, but I haven't been able to find a solution.

I want to bind an ObjectDataSource to a property in my asp page and I want to do it in the page's aspx code, not in code-behind. I've already done it in code-behind, as follows:

protected void Page_InitComplete(object sender, EventArgs e)
   odsBooks.DataSource = SelectedBook;

I'd prefer to get rid of the ugly code-behind and just do this in mark-up. Something like

<asp:ObjectDataSource ID="odsBooks" runat="server"

This gives me a run-time error: Cannot create an object of type 'System.Object' from its string representation 'SelectedBook' for the 'DataSource' property.

Is there a way of doing this declaratively and not in code-behind?

Further, what if what I want is to actually use a child property of the property in question? For example, if my Book object has a ReaderComments collection, can I databind to it decaratively in the aspx mark-up?

WPF / Silverlight tutorial: Visibility property and binding

Visibility property is a very powerful and yet often overlooked property available in both WPF and Silverlight. It enables you to set Visibility of certain UIElement objects to different states like: Visible, Collapsed and Hidden (not supported by Silverlight). This tutorial shows you how to use it and how to bind to Visibility property

In a style template, express a property in terms of the controls properties it is applied to.

Hello,   In the style template below, which works fine, I'd like to express the "Points" property in terms of the applied to controls "Width" and "Height" properties.  As you see, the "Fill" property is expressed in terms of the "Background" property the template is applied to by means of Fill="{TemplateBinding Background}".  The following does not work:   Points="0,({TemplateBinding Height} / 4)  ({TemplateBinding Width} / 12.5),({TemplateBinding Height} / 4) . . ."   Is what I'm looking for possible, all in XAML, no code/converters? <Style x:Key="FolderButton" TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2.5" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Grid> <Polygon Fill="{TemplateBinding Background}" Stroke="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" Points="0,5 4,5 6,0 23,0 25,5 50,5 50,20 0,20"/> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate>

Binding RadioButtonList from Code Behind

I'm trying to populate my form that is made up of RadioButtonLists, a Text Box and a DropDown via Code Behind.  WHen I run it, the Text Box and the DropDown populate, but the RadioButtonLists do not.  I'm guessing it has to do with the SelectedValue command, but I'm not sure what to use.  Here is my aspx page:<ContentTemplate> <div style="height:402px;"> <br /> <table> <tr> <td colspan="2"> <p style="font-size:90%;">Here, you can set your preferences for notifications during the draft. You can change them at any time.</p> <p style="font-size:90%;">You will always be emailed if it is your turn to pick and you have no players in the Pick Queue.</p> </td> </tr> <th colspan="2"> Email Options </th> <tr> <td> Send

Windows Workflow : Activity Binding Properties Window Ellipses button not visible for one property

Dynamic Binding of a Public Property in a User Control

Hi, I am not sure how to pass a variable from an .aspx page to an .ascx page.  I have a Control that puts rotating banners on a page.  The control has several public properties.  However, only one of those properties changes on the page level.  All the other properties are the same for every page site-wide.  So, instead of setting all the properties on every page in my sites (many sites), I want to set it up so I only have to setup the sitewide properties once and only the page level properties on each page.   I want to create a control with a property of AdKeyword="somename" and pass it to another control that will grab that page-level property and add it to all the other site-wide properties.  I guess what I need could be called a Dynamic Control Property.   My .aspx page has:<%@ Register TagPrefix="uc1" TagName="Banner1" Src="banner1.ascx" %> <asp:Content ID="Leaderboard" runat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="Leaderboard"> <uc1:Banner1 AdKeyword="L2Chamber" runat="server" OverrideHeight="90" /> </asp:Content> My banner1.ascx page has:<%@ Control Language="VB" ClassName="UserControl297" %> <%@ register tagprefix="uc1&

Binding UserControl property to Page property

So what I'm trying to accomplish is this <uc3:UserControl ID="UserControl 1" runat="server" ClockNumber='<%=ClockNumber %>' Month='<%#Month %>' Year='<%#Year %>' />The user control has public properties named accordingly and the page has protected properties accordingly which I've verified have the desired values.For some reason the values are always empty strings or 0s in the usercontrol, no matter what the page property is.Thanks for any suggestions

More illusive code (an inline style I can't seem to find)

I just *thought* was done. The issue is with the tree view in a document center. So with the help of the IE Developer Tools, I've managed to narrowed it down to an inline style but it doesn't tell me where that inline style resides (unlike everything else listed).  The culprit is a font-size:1em. The code in the source is: <td><img src="/_layouts/images/tvblank.gif" alt="" /></td><td><a href="javascript:_spNavigateHierarchy(this,'TreeViewDataSource','30:ListNode:df253e52-42eb-498a-8fc9-7bfabf220bfb:bbd65828-90c9-4b75-b4a8-ac304d01744e:160e6be3-d556-4fb9-887e-c1204f716aab','\u002fit\u002fPMO\u002fIntranet\u002fDocuments',false,'ListNode')" title="Documents" id="ctl00_PlaceHolderLeftNavBar_WebTreeViewt0i" tabindex="-1"><img src="/_layouts/images/itdl.gif" alt="Documents" style="border-width:0;" /></a></td><td class="ms-navitem ctl00_PlaceHolderLeftNavBar_WebTreeView_2" style="white-space:nowrap;"><a class="ctl00_PlaceHolderLeftNavBar_WebTreeView_0 ms-navitem ctl00_PlaceHolderLeftNavBar_WebTreeView_1" href="javascript:_spNavigateHierarchy(this,'TreeViewDataSource','30:ListNode:df253e52-42eb-498a-8fc9-7bfabf220bfb:bbd65828-90c9-4b75-b4a8-ac304d01744e:160e6be3-d556-4fb9-887e-c1204f716aa

Printing Problem :- Style.Overflow property in Firefox

Hi All,

I have a web application which has two DIV, one is main and one is child. I am having  problem in printing multiple pages. There is a lot of data in the child DIV and i am using JavaScript functions to control the print functionality. When i print using window.print(), only the data on the main page currently being showed is printed. I further researched and checked out the Style.Overflow property.

Now i am using divMain.style.overflow = "visible"

After this the complete print comes. But in Firefox, the scroll bar disappears and only single page is left with no scroll bar

Now if after print i give divMain.style.overflow = "Auto" OR divMain.style.overflow = "Scroll", still the scroll bar doesn't come and if it comes then its inactive. I am unable to see the complete data on the page after the print is taken.

The problem is not coming in I.E and the full data with scroll bar is recovered in I.E.

Please help me how to get the normal page with full data and scroll bar after printing in Firefox.

Data Binding to a Button IsPressed Property

Is it possible to create a binding on a button such that the boolean value is set to true when the button is pressed then is set to false when the button is released?
I tried binding to the IsPressed property but get "'IsPressed' property cannot be data-bound".
I am binding to an industrial OPC database and using WPF as a Human Machine Interface (HMI).

DataTemplate binding based on object property

I have a collection of objects that I'm giving visual representation in my UI through DataTemplates. Each object has a string property "field".

Is it possible for my UI to exclude specific objects in my collection from being shown based on the "field" property if it contains a string "foo"?

Data Binding RadioButton to enum via code

I was reading this solution on how to bind a RadioButton to a enum type, but in my special case I need to do it programmatically since I am generating a number of panels with 3 radiobuttons the number of which is only known runtime.

I tried this:

Binding b = new Binding("CerradaBind");
        b.Mode = BindingMode.TwoWay;
        b.Source = _exp3Class;
        _gpuertas[i].BotonCerrada.SetBinding(_gpuertas[i].BotonCerrada.IsChecked, b);

But found out the IsChecked property is not what the Setbinding function expects, how should I do it?

Also, is there another way of binding directly to radiogroup instead of button by button?
