Customized IRM protecter for MOSS

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Hi,     Will the customized IRM protector files affects other office appilcations?  If I install a customized protecter for .doc files, will the WORD application on the same machine uses my customized protecter to protecter its .doc file? Or the customized IRM protecter for MOSS has no relationship with other Office applications' IRM? Thanks, Yi

SQL Server: Build Apps that Provide Real-Time Information and Customized Content Using SQL Server No

The adoption of wireless devices continues to spread unabated, and organizations are looking for new ways to get in touch with customers through these new mobile devices. In the past, unsuccessful ideas such as push technology were used to send targeted information to customers. Now, SQL Server Notification Services uses the SQL Server 2000 database engine and the .NET Framework to promote a new breed of notification applications that will allow relevant, consensual communications to be sent to any subscriber device.Here the author provides an architectural overview of the core features that make up SQL Server Notification Services. Along the way he discusses how they can be used for pushing Web content.

Scripting and .NET: Visual Studio for Applications Provides Customized Scripting Facilities for Your

In the past, the Microsoft Active Scripting architecture has allowed you to make your applications extensible. But it came with some drawbacks. You couldn't call into DLLs; you had to use COM interfaces. The scripts were not compiled, so they ran more slowly than they otherwise might, and a number of objects had to ride along with the script. To solve these problems and make extensibility easier to attain, Visual Studio for Applications was introduced. Presented here is an introduction to VSA that covers language support, types, events, and much more.

MOSS 2007 and MySite in Outlook

Looking to get the My Site feature working in Outlook 2007 when you right click someone's name in an email. I've followed this (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968115) and I can add/remove various fields but when it comes to the My Site feature it nevers show a link to the users Sharepoint My Site. It's strange because the URL for people's My Site is in AD. It's not like I even get a error message where the My Site option should be - the field never displays...help!

Unable to open pdf from document library MOSS 2007

When I click on a pdf document uploaded in a document library it comes up with a blank page.

I guess it's trying to open pdf on the browser. I turned off "Display PDF in browser " option in Adobe Preferences, but it doesn't help, same issue.

I tried other browsers too, it's the same issue.

I am able to open all other pdf files local to my machine fine.

I am using IE 8 on my machine (Windows 7) and the Sharepoint server is MOSS 2007.

MOSS 2007 License and Pricing

I just need a small help related to MOSS 2007 License and Pricing.

The scenario is that we have the following number of servers and users are 750.

# moss-SQl1 - (DB server 1)
# moss-SQl2 - (Mirrored DB server 2)
# moss-app -    (Application server)
# WFE1 -  (Web front end server 1)
# WFE2 -           (Web front end server 2)
# MOSS-SQLWITNESS –   (witness server for database mirroring)

To my understanding we need to purchase:
MOSS 2007 Server Licenses -- 2 @ 4424$
Enterprise CALs           -- 750 @ 75$ + 94$ for standard CAL

and it amounts to: 2 * 4424 + (75+94) * 750 =   8848 + 126750 = 135598$.

I think this calculation has gone wrong somewhere. Could you please correct me if I assumed anything wrong here.

One more question is: If we purchage one CAL, can this be used by only one user?

Thanks, Chandralekha

MOSS Content Database has more documents than what's seen on browser

I am not sure how sharepoint internally handles stuff, but this is what I see. I am a SQLDBA and one of my company sharepoint group re-organized a site, by moving some files from a document library to another document library. I think she used the content deployment.

When she see the number of documents in the document library it showed 700 documents. She moved only 50 of them. I went into the database and queried the Docs and DocStreams View and I get the list of all the those documents. I see both the ones that we see on the site as well as something that we do not see on the site.

Exporting web from MOSS 2007 to WSS 3.0

Hi! I'm trying to export SharePoint web site from MOSS 2007 to WSS 3.0.

There are some problems, which prevent me. WSS doesn't include two features: DataConnectionLibruary and TransMgmtLib. This features are not avaible on WSS, so I tried to deactivate these features using site capabilities. It wo'nt help. Here is the exception text:

Could not find Feature TransMgmtLib

at Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.ImportRequirementsManager.Validate(SPRequirementObject reqObj)\
at Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.ImportRequirementsManager.DeserializeAndValidate()
at Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.SPImport.VerifyRequirements()
at Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment.SPImport.Run()
at InfoCenter.ConsoleTestingApp.Program.ImportInfoCenter()

The question is: which way must I go to solve this problem? Is it really possible (I mean export from MOSS to WSS)? And what is the purpose of TransMgmtLib feature? Thanks.

Search Server Gatherer - Custom hierarchical protocol handler ISearchProtocol for MOSS 2010

Search server gatherer calls CloseAccessor() and shutdown() on ISearchProtocol after GetChunk() even if the FILTER_E_END_OF_CHUNKS is not returned. After calling shutdown() it stops calling the createaccessor() with new URL. I want to create a hierarchical indexing but I am not gatherer is not suporting this. The same piece of code is working fine in MOSS 2007, I am facing this issue in MOSS 2010 only. Is there anything changed in MOSS 2010 which is creating this issue?
