I have a serious problem that cannot be solved by googling around the keywords below: sharepoint, moss 2007, reporting service, ssrs 2008, rendering, internal server error, ....
The error is;
"An error occurred during client rendering. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. "
Everything is O.K.;
* When I render the report from the REPORTSERVER (http://localhost/ReportServer) * When the reports are scheduled to be sent by the reporting service (planned via MOSS 2007)ÃÂ
But if I open (render) the RDL file from the sharepoint REPORTS LIBRARY interface, all of the reports fail with that internal error message above.ÃÂ
It is weird also that parametrized reports are displayed without errors although the parameters are queried from a sql dataset. But I got the error when rendering the report after I've chosen a parameterÃÂ and order "apply/report"...
Possible causes how I met that error may be;
After I have installed (then uninstalled) AJAX extensions After I have re-configured IIS Web Service Extensions list items
Possible solution alternatives I've found;
I've found a solution on MSDN replying a similar issue with an ideal cause of the error but an evreka answer but no sol
We have a WCF service host in IIS 6.0 (windows server 2003), (.net 3.5, wshttpbinding, instance context = percall)
Randomly the client receive this error :
System.ServiceModel.ProtocolException: The content type. text/html; charset=utf-8 of the response message does not match the content type of the binding (text/xml; charset=utf-8). If using a custom encoder, be sure that the IsContentTypeSupported method is implemented properly. The first 1024 bytes of the response were: « <html><body>Internal Server Error. Please contact a server administrator.</body></html> ». ---> System.Net.WebException: (500) Internal Server Error..
No trace in WCF Log
No trace in windows 2003 event log
How can i resolve this issue ?
Hello,
When trying to add a new datasource to SharePoint designer to display blog posts, I ran into an error. Designer tells me "the server returned a non-specific error when trying to get data from the data source". I browsed to the url (http://site.domain.com/blog/_vti_bin/ListData.svc), that seemed to be working fine. But when I browse to http://site.domain.com/blog/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/Posts, it throws an 500 internal server error.
What could be going on and how can I find some more debug info on it? I tried modifying the web.config in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\ISAPI to give some more debug info (since ListData.svc is in there), but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Edit: I also tried adding the svc reference in VS2010, but that errors out too with a complaint about missing authentication. I have no idea where that's coming from.

We have just recently moved/rebuilt our SharePoint farm in a virtual environment. And everything is working for except the search. The crawl log is giving the following error:- Error in the Site Data Web Service. (*** Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'. The request failed with the error message: -- <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"/> <title>500 - Internal server error.</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body{margin:0;font-size:.7em;font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica,)
I have tried putting failed request tracing on the web server but it never logs a 500 error. I've also tried changing the crawl account and the web application server that is being used for the crawl and get the same error. Has anyone seen this error before in the the crawl log?
We are in the process of upgrading our current environment from sql server 2005 to 2008R2. Everything goes fine except for SSRS.I have SSRS 2008R2 installed on a seperate machine and it works. We can see the report manager etc. except it's empty of course. I then backup the ReportingServices and ReportingServicesTempDB and transfer them to the new machine. I restore the database and it gets upgraded automatically, no problems there.
Next I go to the configuration manager and change the database SSRS needs to use to the restored DB. At that point I will restore the old encryption keys belonging to that database and as a result I now have 2 servers in my scale out deployment. Seeing as we only need Standard SSRS we get an error saying that Scale out deployment is not supported in this edition(standard) of SSRS.
So what i need to do is delete the source database encryption key. So my name server is named ServerA and my old one is ServerB. I use the rskeymgmt tool to list and delete the old encryption key(ServerB). This way I end up with only 1 server in my instance.
Now when i try to go to the report manager i get the error "An internal error occurred on the report server. See logs for more info". But when i go to my logs it just shows the same message that an error occurred but it doesn't tell me what went wrong.
These a
We are getting "HTTP 500 - internal server error" upon opening list attachments. The list attachments are added programmatically to the list item.
This doesn't happen for all the items in the list, but only for few items.
There is no error in the SharePoint logs and the event viewer.
Has anyone encountered this issue/error?
