Dialog attachment scrolling problem

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
When opening an item from a list in a dialog and then attaching a file we have noticed that the vertical scroll bar disappears from the dialog. You can still navigate the form using the Tab key, but is there a way to restore the scroll bar or is there a Hotfix we can get to do repair this issue? Thanks.

Document Set - Problem when uploading multiple files with "Launch forms in a dialog" disabled

Hello, Has anyone come across this before? I have a basic document library for which I have enabled "Allow management of content types" and disabled "Launch forms in a dialog".  Both of these settings are in the "Advanced Settings" page.  Also, the document library does not have versioning enabled and check out is not required. I added the OOTB "Document Set" content type to this document library and allowed OOTB "Document" content type documents in this document set.  This document set does not have any default content. The issue arises after I upload multiple files and click the "Done" button.  After I do this, the browser redirects to the top level of the site!  For example, if I uploaded to my document set at http://server/sites/anyname/doclib, I am redirected to http://server/. This issue has come up in both a standard server and an enterprise server. Steps to repeat issue: Create a document set Open the document set Select "Upload Multiple Documents" Drag and drop or browse for files Click "OK" Click "Done" Actually, this issue also occurs when "Launch forms in a dialog" is enabled.  In this case, you just have to navigate to the upload form directly (with all the necessary query string parameters, of course). Has anyone else seen this issu

Problem opening an attachment from Infopath 2007 form in SharePoint 2010

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that is opened as a web based form in SharePoint 2010 that has an attachment control.  In Windows XP with IE 7 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to open or save the file or cancel.  In Windows 7 with IE 8 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to save the file or cancel, no open option.  I already set the SharePoint browser permission to permissive for the site and it doesn't help.  How can I get this to work in Windows 7 and IE 8?

Problem With Internet Explorer 8 - Internet Security Dialog Box

I have two computers, and on one of them I am unable to open Internet Explorer because I keep getting a dialog box that says "Internet Explorer Security - a website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.  This program will open outside of Protected mode.  Internet Explorer's Protected mode helps protect your computer.  If you do not trust this website, do not open this program.

  Name:  dw20.exe

  Publisher:  Microsoft Corporation"

The details say it has to do with ...rosoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\dw20.exe

Each time I click on Allow or Don't allow, IE closes and I can't use it.  It doesn't seem to matter which option I choose....it still closes.  What is causing this and how do I fix it?  It's very frustrating.  I need to be able to get into IE on this particular computer.

Custom List with attachment problem

Sharepoint 2007:

I created a custom list and the user can attach two files that is stored in listitem.attachments.

I try to give the user a delete button but when I perform the delete I get an error.

When I press the delete (image button) the page postback and if I click for example another button (a save button or an add attachment button) it raises an SP Exception (No item exists at http://server/site/Pages/edit.aspx?id=37. It may have been deleted or renamed by another user). If I go to the list and then return in the item everything is fine.

In order to add the attachment I am using the following code:

if (FileUpload.PostedFile != null && FileUpload.HasFile)
    Stream fStream = AnswerFileUpload.PostedFile.InputStream;
    byte[] contents = new byte[fStream.Length];
    fStream.Read(contents, 0, (int)fStream.Length);
    SPAttachmentCollection attachments = myItem.Attachments;
    string FileName = Path.GetFileName(AnswerFileUpload.PostedFile.FileName);
    attachments.Add(FileName, contents);

Implementing Continuous Scrolling UI Pattern in ASP.NET

When you have numerous records to show, we have to resort to Paging. There is a better alternative to display voluminous data (especially read only data) while providing a better user experience & also making efficient use of server bandwidth - the Continuous Scrolling or Infinite Scrolling UI Pattern. Read on to know more about how to implement Continuous Scrolling UI Pattern in ASP.NET with a GridView.

A Generic Dialog ViewModel

I worked on a wpf viewmodel for dialogs, because it seemed strange to me that you needed for instance windows forms dialogs to open or save files in wpf. So I set about creating my own wpf dialogs. After creating the dialog viewmodels there still remained a small issue with the library and also I didn't have much time to write an article about it. I however published the library containing the viewmodels for dialogs with another article on my blog

ASP.Net Caching problem ??

I'm having a problem with an asp.net 3.0 application using a gridview to display data.  The problem seems to be that despite a brand new .selectCommand being sent to the sqlDataSource, the gridview starts displaying data from *someone else's* query.  For example, user A is logged in and will be working fine until a few page submissions later when the gridview data starts suddenly showing information that belongs to another user.

This is my first asp.net application, though I've been working with classic asp and ADO for years so I'm used to sending a SQL string and getting back the results from that string.  Apparently there is a complex caching system which is interferring which I do not at all understand so at this point I just want to stop the server from caching any data whatsoever.  Is this possible?

Any and all help will be much appreciated!!
