I have a Cube with a field called 'Item Code'. This field is six characters in length. The first two characters differentiate what kind of product it is. I am building my reports with cube functions. I do not want to use a pivot
table to retrieve the list by using the 'contains' or 'begins with' label filters. Is there a way to use the cubeset function with left, mid, right functions? I realize that it can be set up in the cube as a separate field, but I am not able to
update the cube. Below are my examples - 'All Products' and 'Product R3189S' work fine, but I need to retrieve 'Products starting with R3'.

i am working on SP 2010 and looking to add web part to list in sharepoint 2010 programticaly.
So that i could be able to add my custom web part to LIST.
I'm trying to add the Shared Documents "web part" that is part of the default Team Site template to a custom site template. However, from what I've found this is not really a web part for Shared Documents, but a generic List View web part with Shared
as the data source. Also, I don't see where this is listed in the onet.xml file of the Team Site template (which I believe is the "sts" template, correct?). Also, you cannot export/download the xml for this webpart from the page and when it is
viewed via SP Designer, the way it is defined is not supported in an onet.xml file.
So how do you add this webpart to a site template?
I want to filter the list which is already part of another list.
Now i have 10 items in my List<MainClass> and each item in List<MainClass> has 2 ExtraInfo items this is List<SubClass> items.
Now i want to filter List<SubClass> items with Condition City == "New York".
So, all 10 items in the main list (List<MainClass>) should have the ExtraInfo (List<SubClass>) items based on the filter condition.
I mean i just want to filter the Sub list not the main list.

I have added a content query to my site which is querying a master contact list.
Once I have added the web part I then want to customised how it is displayed, i.e. first name, company name etc.
I am not getting a list menu in the ribbon when I check the box next to my content query web part heading.
Can anyone help.
I have four Lists with identical columns :
I had to merge them, hence i created a data source ( Linked Source ) and merged these lists in SPD. I have used a data view webpart to display some columns from the merged lists data source and everything was working fine.
But now i have a new List : List 5 which also has the same columns like the other four lists and i need to update the data soure such that it is merged list of 5 lists not 4.
i updated the datasource property of the linked source to merge this new list as well. However the contents of List 5 dont appear in the data view webpart.
Am i missing something here ?
I dont want recreate the data view web part from scratch eachtime , because in future there might be List 6 , List 7 as well ...
