Explanation of Diva Component API

Posted By: Syed Shakeer Hussain     Posted Date: September 01, 2010    Points: 2   Category :Others
What is the Component API?

The Diva Component API is a part of the Diva SDK. The Diva SDK enables the development of applications that use Dialogic's Diva hardware adapters and Diva SoftIP virtual adapters to implement a wide variety of functionality. Note that Diva Client products are not supported.

The Diva SDK consists of these three main APIs:

* Diva API - for C and C++ applications
* Diva Component API
* Diva API for .Net

The Diva API is designed to make the Diva family easy to use with Visual C and C++ (see the Using the Diva API with Visual C++ training course).

The Diva Component API consists of COM components that make using the Diva family even easier for programming environments that have built-in support for COM such as Visual Basic 6, Visual Basic 2005 and Visual C#. The current version of the Component API (4.0) has only minor differences in functionality compared to the Diva API for C++. These differences mainly affect programmers writing passive monitoring and recording applications.

The Diva API for .Net provides a convenient framework for using all the functionality of the Diva API for C++ in C# applications. This option is particularly useful for developers who are writing monitoring applications in C# or for developers already familiar with using the Diva API with C++ who are now migrating to C# in order to make use of th

Making and receiving calls using e Diva Component API

Programs and scripts can use the Component API in either 'blocking' or 'non-blocking' mode. The following examples use 'blocking' mode because this is the simplest. For more complex scripts and applications 'non-blocking' mode can make it easier to create programs that can cope with unforeseen sequences of events or errors.
See the section 'Handling multiple calls' for more information.

We can create the DivaCall object directly here because we are handling only one call; if we were creating more than one DivaCall object then we would have to use DivaSystem and DivaInstance and the DivaCall objects would be created using the CreateCall method of DivaInstance.

To make a call
The following code makes a call with Connect , plays the wave file with SendVoiceFile when the call is answered and Disconnects.

Error Registering COM+ Component

Hi All,

I am experimenting with using EnterpriseServices. I created a component, created the SNK file, compiled the DLL. In the assemblyinfo.vb file, I added '<Assembly: AssemblyKeyFile("c:\key.snk")> '.
I created a new package in COM+, When I attempt to add the .dll to the package i get:

An error occured while processeing the last operation.
Error Code 80020009 - Exception ocurred.

Reading values from data access component individually

I am trying to pick data from the database through data access layer and use those values in different text boxes on the page.Basically on a click on the form, modal popup is planned to read the database and put the values into different text boxes which can be latter changed/ updated.

 What I am unable to do is accessing those values on the form itself progamatically. I will be thankful for any ideas and help.

My data access component is as follows:

Extract a number from WebBrowser component

Basically, I am using this program that goes to this webpage, and tells the user how much points they have.   <div class="profileresults"><b>Gift Point Balance: 485</b></div>   That's the html. I am looking the extract just the 485 part. Just to note, this number value can be anywhere between 5 and 1000 or HIGHER. I know I'm going to have to use regex for this, so please help me, as I have no clue what do work from next.

MS Word Component Not Getting Created on Windows 2008 64 bit Web Server Edition When I Try Using ASP

Hi All, This might look like a similar question to a lot of you considering there are a lot of web activity happening in terms of blogs/forums/suggestions that I have seen with reference to changes that one needs to do in COM+ Services to enable their ASP.NET Web Application to be able to create Word Objects & I have actually used them personally & they worked for me on Windows 2003 32 bit/64 bit servers. The issue started some 1 month back when I was told that we are upgrading our server to Windows 2008 Web Server edition 64 bit ‘cause of some real benefits it offers if used only as a web server. This was just great as we tested a lot of features /functionality that we were using on our existing server & everything seems to be working just fine on this product by Microsoft. However we also have one web module which is responsible for opening up a MS Word 2007 template file at runtime and fill it with data & is then converted into a PDF document. A lot of ideas on Web suggested that we should move onto Open XML standards to generate documents at runtime, which I have been able to do with no issues. But one activity which still requires me to create a Word document is when I have to convert/SaveAs the Word (docx) document into PDF. I tried all the COM+ & registry related changes that I did on my Windows 2003 64 bit server, but nothing seems

OWC11.Spreadsheet.11 - Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {} failed due to th

We have a web application (C#) which uses OWC11.Spreadsheet.11 to create excel files. This application works fine on XP 32bit, Windows 2003 server 32 bit versions. Recently we moved our application to a Windows 2008 web server 64bit machine. Now when we run the appication and call the functionality generate the Excel files which uses OWC11.Spreadsheet.11 it throws the following error.Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {0002E559-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154.In the code we use this library as follows using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Owc11; SpreadsheetClass xlsheet = new SpreadsheetClass();We have registered the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Owc11.dll in the global assembly cash as we have done in 2003 server.  We also tried running owc11.exe to insall all office 2003 web components.Can anyone help us to sort this issue.Thanks in advance.Sam

Find and replacement SSIS Custom component issues

Output parameters in OLEDB Command component - SSIS 2008

I have a package that I developed in SSIS 2005 and recently ported to 2008. Everything runs great except an OLE DB Command component that calls a stored procedure that uses output parameters. When I try to run this, I get this error: Error: 0xC0202009 at Data Flow Task, OLE DB Command [100]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "Syntax error, permission violation, or other nonspecific error". Error: 0xC004701A at Data Flow Task, SSIS.Pipeline: component "OLE DB Command" (100) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202009. When I do the same thing in SSIS2005, it works fine. So I setup a new package with 1 data flow. In that data flow, I added a source component, an OLE DB Command, and a destination.  I then tested this with a stored procedure that took no parameters. It worked fine. I then tested it with a stored procedure with 1 parameter defined as OUTPUT. This generated the error.   Is there an issue with output parameters in an OLE DB Command in SSIS 2008?   Thanks!http://bobp1339.blogspot.com

Custom SSIS Data Flow Component Not Showing in Toolbox or GAC

Hello - I have created a very simple data flow component for SSIS (Actually, I am following this example:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1C2A7DD2-3EC3-4641-9407-A5A337BEA7D3&displaylang=en).  However, when I register the DLL to the GAC, I am unable to find the assembly in C:\Windows\Assembly - even though the GACUTIL says "Assembly Registered Successfully".  Furthermore, after copying the DLL to the PipelineComponents folder for SSIS (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\PipelineComponents), it does not show in the "Choose Items . . ." dialog box of SSIS.   I am running SQL Server 2008 Dev edition, Visual Studio 2010 with .NET 4.0, and Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition.  Any assistance/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
