In SharePoint 2007 Designer, I have used the Hyperlink column to store the link "http://www.sharepoint.com/Default.aspx, Details". The details text will be shown in the Hyperlink column. Everything works fine in sharepoint 2007 Designer workflow.
In SharePoint Designer 2010 Workflow, I used the same method but the hyperlink column is displaying the full text "http://www.sharepoint.com/Default.aspx, Details" instead of only Details
Does somebody know how to get current user (logon user) in an action of a workflow definition from the Sharepoint Designer 2007. I know how to do it by using .NET coding, but it requires to upload a dll to the bin directory of the application which is not
an option due to my company Sharepoint policies.
We have created a custom workflow in SPD that is attached to a document library within a MOSS 2007 teamsite.
The workflow is set to trigger when a new item is created in the document library.
Previously, the workflow has worked fine for all users but recently has stopped working for one user only.
For the problem user, what we are seeing is that when a new item is created in the document library, the attached workflow never starts. There is no error, the workflow just does not get triggered. However, if the problem user goes to an item
in the document library and clicks on the workflow she can manually start it and it works fine with no error.
This user has the same permissions on the site as others who do not have any problem.
In the course of investigating this problem, we have temporarily increased the problem users permissions on the document library to full control (was contribute before) but this has had no effect on the problem. Authentication is being done via Active
Directory. We have tried removing the user from the site and re-instating her but again this has no impact.
Does anyone have any idea how we could fix this problem or further debug it?
I created a SPD workflow on a task list in SharePoint Server 2010.
The workflow generates an e-mail to the "Assigned To" user. When configuring the To in the e-mail, I simply references the "Assigned To" value in the list. Is that good enough? Will it find their e-mail?
Also, what if the Assigned To allows for multiple values?
I want to add two columns from an existing form library into "Collect data from user" action rather than adding a new column so that when the approver opens the "Collect
data from user" content type, he should be able to see those two column values from existing form library in to that "Collect data from user" content type only. Is that possible?
Ok the top part of the error I have tracked down to some entries in the SharePoint_Config database (Classes, Objects, TimerRunningJobs) and since I have a VM I am going to study them and try deleting them probably, if it dies I will delete this VM and
roll up another VM in my case its a timer job that I am guessing the farm can live without.
The other error further down is more of a concern to me which is the one I listed above. The Group exists and it is in the farm and appears to be healthy no errors in preugrade check or the like or in the Farm. When upgrading the show stopper for me
is that the content databases will not upgrade (assuming they upgrade FBA I can configure) the chicken and egg issue for me is this is an FBA farm, so is it the case that b/c FBA is missing not configured yet on the other side of the upgrade in 2010
that these content dbs connected to FBA (by FBA users in the content dbs) will upgrade affter FBA is configured ( I haven't tried this yet sorting my error log one error at a time). The Particular content dbs with an issue are shared services and the main
site collection db which includes my sites site collections also.

I am currently running Sharepoint 2010 Foundation and Sharepoint Designer 2010
I am creating a custom workflow where I am asking 1 user for input using collect data from user. Following this I am asking a different user the same question using another collect data from user.
Since these creates 2 tasks (1 for each user) I wanted to store the information in the same column, but I seem unable to do so. Each collect data from user seems to create it's own column even if you name both the same (you end up with 2 columns with
the same name but different column id's).
Is there a way to point them both to the same column? Is there a better way to do this?
More the less I am asking the both persons a yes/no question. in my workflow if they both say yes I send an e-mail but wanted to have only 1 column in the vew to see the results on the tasks.
Is this is possible to make html format Email alerts in SharePoint designer 2010??
I have a SPD Workflow that I now want to import into Visual Studio 2010. I believe that the workflow has to be reuseable before I can do this is that correct?
Has anyone ever converted a SPD workflow into a VS 2010 workflow?
