LDAP - Can't find server

Hey people,

I would like to get a persons name from their username - a common query on forums i know, but i haven't managed to get mine working yet and any help would be appreciated.

I currently have this code that I found here: http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=612655 (Thanks Chris128)

I have adapted it from VB into VB.net. The page renders but when i enter my username into the Username textBox and hit the submit button (Which calls IsUser) I just get "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted." I have tried lots of other code but I always get this response...

If anyone can help by posting links to a tutorial or another post for code that they know works, i will give it a go.

TSWebAccess Webpart can't find Terminal Server

a. Windows Server 2008 with TS Web Access installed and MOSS 2007

b. Windows Server 2008 R2 in Remote Desktop Services installed and configured.

The SharePoint web part is installed and I an add the web part in the site. But when I try to add the terminal server name I get:

TS Web Access was not able to access the specified terminal server. Verify that the computer account of the TS Web Access server is added to the TS Web Access Computers security group on the terminal server.

Any ideas why this is happening.  I saw other threads with the same error and no answer yet, so I guess I'm not the only one having the problem.

TSQL: Passing array/list/set to stored procedure (MS SQL Server)

Passing array/list/set to stored procedure is fairly common task when you are working with Databases. You can meet this when you want to filter some collection. Other case - it can be an import into database from extern sources. I will consider few solutions: creation of sql-query at server code, put set of parameters to sql stored procedure's parameter with next variants: parameters separated by comma, bulk insert, and at last table-valued parameters (it is most interesting approach, which we can use from MS SQL Server 2008). Ok, let's suppose that we have list of items and we need to filter this items by categories ("TV", "TV game device", "DVD-player") and by firms ("Firm 1", "Firm2", "Firm 3). It will look at database like this So we need a query which will return us list of items from database. Also we need opportunity to filter these items by categories or by firms. We will filter them by identifiers. Ok, we know the mission. How we will solve it? Most easy way, used by junior developers - it is creating SQL-instruction with C# code, it can be like this List<int> categories = new List<int>() { 1, 2, 3 };   StringBuilder sbSql = new StringBuilder(); sbSql.Append( @" select i.Name as ItemName, f.Name as FirmName, c.Name as CategoryName from Item i inner join Firm f on i.FirmId =

Unable to See List of Marked Transactions on New Server

I am trying to do a TFS test restore to new server following the TFS 2010 Backup and Restore processes below verbatim (SQL 2008 SP1): Backup TFS http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms253070.aspx Restore to Different Server http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252516.aspx#RestoreDB Restore Single Server Deployment to New Hardware http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff459215.aspx I can restore the database to the restoring state on a new server; however, when applying the transaction log backup I don't see any marked transactions to restore to.  I don't even get a list to choose from.  I can restore the database to the original server successfully and can see list of marked transactions to restore to. Is there anything that we could keep me from seeing the list of marked transactions on the new server?  Does this have anything to do with the fact that the marks are stored in the msdb.dbo.logmarkhistory database? Thanks in Advance, Michael

Visual Studio 2010 can't find the Sharepoint Foundation 2010 Server when compiliing, Standalone vs

I'm wondering if we installed Visual Studio correctly cos when we get into Visual Studio 2010 the "Deploy as a Farm Solution" is the only available button option and the "Deploy as a Sandbox Solution" is un-selectable, grayed out, assuming the "Sandbox" solution is the "Standalone" approach? So when we go to compile a Workflow, the error message says the Sharepoint Server is not found" Could this "Deploy as Farm Solution" be a problem when we were instructed to install Sharepoint 2010 Foundation as a "Standalone" install? in other words we're trying to find out why when we go to compile a Workflow in Visual Studio 2010 that it can't find the Sharepoint Server Step 3: Install SharePoint 2010 1.  To install SharePoint Server 2010 or SharePoint Foundation 2010, open a Command Prompt window, and then type the following at the command prompt: On the Choose the installation you want page, click Standalone to install everything on one developer workstation. Thanks very much for any suggestions, ideas or pointers! BobK

Find Announcement List Template

Hi, I created a list template based off the announcement list. I added some columns to it and saved it as a template. Is there a way (programmatically) to check to see if a list was based on my specific template? I see my list still uses the announcement featureID and ID but I only want to find lists created with my specific template. Thanks for any help.

Failed to find SharePoint server when using Microsoft Transporter Suite

When attempting to migrate a Lotus Domino application into MOSS 2007 using the Microsoft Transporter Suite 2007, I get the error: "Failed to find SharePoint server for URL: http://shp7/resimport".  I have installed the Transporter Suite on the SharePoint server (Windows 2003), and am running it under an account with full SharePoint admin rights.  I fill out the Target SharePoint site and Target SharePoint list boxes as directed in the Transporter console's help.  I know the site is running, as I can see it when I use http://shp7/resimport in IE from the server.  Anybody else experience this problem?

How can a C# client app list the authorized CA certificates sent by a web server over an SSL connect

Hello, I am currently writting a C# client application that must access a web page over SSL authentication, having the Client authentication required. I know that the SSL protocol defines that the web server sends the list of authorized Certification Authority that the web server can trust for the SLL session to be successful. My client application has to filter a X509Certificate collection in order to popup a Certificate Selection dialog box to the user. I fould like to only display certificates that the web server would accept. I already have filtered the certificates according to the "Client Authentication" Enhanced Key Usage and other stuf. I know how to set the client certificate to be used for SLL conection, but I just would like to access the CA cert list provided by the server.   Could someone help me ? Thanks a lot !
