SSIS And Sybase Source OLEDB connectivity issue with code page for character set

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 31, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Hi I am using SSIS 2008 to connect the Sybase Server version 15.0.3 64-bit. The default character set id used by this Sybase server is 4 (i.e. roman8). (http://manuals.sybase.com/onlinebooks/group-charc/chg0300e/charsets/@Generic__BookTextView/1706;pt=266) I had installed Sybase Client for Sybase OLEDB Driver (ASEOLEDB) to integrate this in OLEDB Source Editor. As per guidance from one of the past MSDN forum discussion, I tried setting property of AlwaysUseDefaultCodePage property to "FALSE"  (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlintegrationservices/thread/f5af9328-e1fb-48d7-a85d-1d08bb7cf0e5/). However, I am still experiencing error message as follows:- ********************************************************* Error at Package2 [Connection manager "xxxxxx.xxxxxxx"]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available.  Source: "ASEOLEDB"  Hresult: 0x80004005  Description: "[00000] [Native Code: 30061] [ASEOLEDB]Could not load code page for requested charset". Unable to translate Unicode character \uD8D6 at index 5 to specified code page.

I' have the error "Unable to translate Unicode character \uD8D6 at index 5 to specified code page." when I call a remote service, using a method that uploads some data (basically data readed from WMI and from Win Registry on the client host) from the client to the server. The server is wsHttpBinding, hosted in IIS7 via an ASP.NET 4.0 Web Site (svc file). The client is an exe, compiled in .NET 3.5 I've tried to set "textEncoding="utf-16"" on the binding, either on server and on client, but still the same. I've no idea about a solution :( Any idea? Thanks

Issue with Connection of Sybase in SSIS and Linked Server in SQL Server

Iam having problem connecting with Sybase from SSIS or Link Server of SQL Server 2008.

I have installed Sybase 12.5.1 OLE DB Driver and have also registered by running command:

 C:\sybase\DataAccess\OLEDB\dll>regsvr32 sybdrvoledb.dll

We are also able to create System DSN from ODBC Administrator in Windows 7. I am also able to import data in the MS Access. Here is the System DSN I created, successfully.

I would really appreciate you can help us out.

How to make up MDX with parameters of SSIS OLEDB data source

Hi everyone,

I want to make up a MDX query by using some parameters, just like:

{...}ON ROWS
FROM [CubeName]

I put this query in the 'sql command' field of OLEDB data source, and replaced the date parts with parameter token '?':

{...}ON ROWS
FROM [CubeName]

However, when I clicked 'parameter' button, the exception below showed:

Parameters cannot be extracted from the SQL command. The provider might not help to parse parameter information from the command. In that case, use the "SQL command from variable" access mode, in which the entire SQL command is stored in a variable. (Microsoft Visual Studio)
Error Code = 0x80040E51, External Code = 0x00000000:. (Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Analysis Services 2008.)

SSIS Error Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page

I the same issue or something close.

Except I have one Field (27) that get a trunacation error

Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "Column 27" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page.".

The "output column "Column 27" (91)" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "output column "Column 27" (91)" specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.

Data looks like:Red Text is the field that is throwing the error!

Microsoft StyleCop: Source Code Analyzer for C#

StyleCop is similar in many ways to Microsoft Code Analysis (specifically FxCop), but there are some important distinctions. FxCop performs its analysis on compiled binaries, while StyleCop analyzes the source code directly. For this reason, FxCop focuses more on the design of the code, while StyleCop focuses on layout, readability and documentation. Most of that information is stripped away during the compilation process, and thus cannot be analyzed by FxCop.

C# and XML Source Code Documentation

Through many years of enterprise level software development and consulting, I became critically aware of the importance of good source code documentation, and several years ago when I began working with the first release of Visual Studio .NET beta 1 and found C# provided built-in support for inline XML code documentation, I was thrilled.

Any plans on releasing the source code for WebMatrix itself?

I tried reflecting into WebMatrix.exe but was unable.  I'm interested on how you integrated the WPF Ribbon & the Office-style sidebar.

How to install the Css Friendly Control Adapter Source Code

Hi guys really new to ASP.NET I was trying to install the CSS Friendly control adapter but for some reason the instructions on the website seems outdated. I downloaded all the files (Source Code, DLL, Browser) I believe I need to add the DLL file to my website's Bin folder and the Browser file to the APP_Browsers folder is this correct? After I place this files how to I get it working? what do I have to do?

Also if I want to create a new DLL file from the Source code how do I do these? I opened the web-site with Visual Studio 2008 and I can see all the files in the solution explorer? But how do I compile this to a DLL file? I tried doing a build solution but all I get is an .sln file???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Rotor: Shared Source CLI Provides Source Code for a FreeBSD Implementation of .NET

With over 9,000 files, and including some 1300 public classes to pore through, the Shared Source CLI can teach you quite a bit about the internal workings of the CLR. But the sheer amount of source code included can make just starting your exploration a monumental task. This article discusses some of the things you can learn from the source code facsimile of the CLR, like how JIT compilation works. It will also help you understand how to control execution along with debugging and loading classes. A walk through the steps involved in setting up the runtime will let you become familiar with the process.

The Weekly Source Code 56 - Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 Training Kit - Code Contracts, P

Do you like a big pile of source code? Well, there is an imperial buttload of source in the Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 Training Kit . It's actually a 178 meg download, which is insane. Perhaps start your download now and get it in the morning when you get up. It's extremely well put together and I say Kudos to the folks that did it. They are better people than I. I like to explore it while watching TV myself and found myself looking through tonight. I checked my blog and while I thought I'd shared this with you before, Dear Reader, I hadn't. My bad, because it's pure gold . With C# and VB, natch. Here's an outline of what's inside. I've heard of folks setting up lunch-time study groups and going through...(read more)
