Saving data in javascript from codebehind and use data in other javascript functions

In the Page_Load event I want to write some data in javascript which can be used later via a javascript function.

Protected Sub Page_Load
'get data from database
    SELECT * FROM locations
'write the data in javascript
    Me.Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Me.GetType(), "ScriptKey", "var sDataArray = MultiDimensionalArray(0, 3);sDataArray[0][0]='THIS IS SOME DATA';", True)

End Sub

Then in the ActiveTabChanged event of the tabcontrol I want to use that data:

 function ActiveTabChanged(sender, e) {
     if (sender.get_activeTabIndex() == 1) {
         __doPostBack(sender.get_id(), sender.get_activeTabIndex());
 How can this be done?

saving the data and then deleting the data using javascript function in anchor tag

Hello guys,

What I am trying to do is I have a dataview webpart. In that I have a field called comments which I made it as a text box. I have provided them a option delete. So user before deleting the item, he has to enter the comments and delete. The comments which I enter has to save in list. then I wrote one event handler which is for item deleting, which will copy values to other location deletes the list item.

The problem is the comments are getting saved to list before deleting. The javascript function for delete in anchor tag is

<a href="javascript: if(DeleteItemConfirmation()) {ddwrt:GenFireServerEvent(concat('_cancel;__delete={',$KeyField,'=',$KeyValue,'};__commit;__redirect=''};

so I have to save the comments before it gets deleted. So I am trying to insert {ddwrt:GenFireServerEvent('__commit;'};this in some place anchor tag before delete, but its getting saved, but not deleting.

Hope you guys understand what I am talking. So can I do something such that it saves the comments and go for delete...

I'm not sure how to structure the code for this but what I want to do is be able to add data to a database, and once this has completed successfully, then email the user to say the details have been added successfully to the database.

I need to:

1. Check that the relevant data has been added into the database then

2. Email the details of the relevant data when completed.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Metadata: Create a Database Schema Repository with Meta Data Services in SQL Server 2000

SQL Server 2000 Meta Data Services is a repository technology that stores and manages metadata for SQL Server. Instead of building database schemas over and over, Meta Data Services allows you to freeze an entire schema for use in other projects. You can also use these schemas for training, testing, or debugging. In this article, the authors will review the various components of Meta Data Services and show how it can be programmed using a Visual Basic client, XML, and XSLT. They will also show you how to manage and manipulate your metadata by generating a simple database schema using a SQL Server repository.

Writing Data to database with jQuery Forms, ASMX Webservice, & JSON - help!

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to submit data from a jQuery form to a ASMX webservice? I have gotten everything on the form ready to be submitted to the database and now I am stuck on how to send it over using $.ajax(). Everything I have read tells me how to get data from a webservice and display it with jQuery, but not the other direction nor how to access the json data within the within the webservice service(similar to a Request.Form approach with ASP.NET forms).

In other words:

1. What do I need to do to my webservice to make sure it can receive data from the jQuery form.

2. What do I need to do in jQuery to receive an acknowledgement the save on the server side was successful.

I can explain more if need be, but if there is a comprehensive tutorial on not only reading, but also WRITING data with jQuery, JSON, etc. I would love to get pointed in that direction.
