Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727' of the runtime and cannot be loaded in t

First, yes I've read every article I can find including this one: http://msmvps.com/blogs/rfennell/archive/2010/03/27/mixed-mode-assembly-is-built-against-version-v2-0-50727-error-using-net-4-development-web-server.aspx Of course it's for web server stuff, but I found this in my config file and added it. However, my problem now is that if I build in release mode I get a hard error in the error list telling me the same thing, even though it runs fine in debug and has the information in my app.config file. The really anoying part is that the error doesn't tell you WHICH assembly is the offending one. Anyone have any ideas?

"Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727'.... " issue and use custom config file

Hi, My Winform applilcation has used Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Common namespace(assembly :Microsoft.Sqlserver.smo.dll/Microsoft.Sqlserver.ConnectionInfo.dll) and developed in .NET 4.0. Problem:Application is throw an exception when it tries to use above assembly reference methods. Full error text is shown below, "Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727' of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information. .NET 3.5 built Mixed mode assembly unable to load in .NET 4 (even after using app config) without .N

I am trying to run a .NET 3.5 built mixed mode assembly in .NET 4. I was able to do that by adding an app config file with the following content:

<configuration>
<startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>
</startup>
</configuration>
The problem is that I used an XP machine and installed .NET 4 on it (without any other previous versions of .NET). When I tried to run the same thing, it gives me an error saying it is unable to load the assembly in .NET 4.

Any idea why this is still depending on .NET 3.5?

this assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded

Hola.

Hello! Note: The text above was translated into English. I experience this problem when adding DirectX references and usings to a Form in Visual Studio 10 Professional, Trial Version. The dlls (Microsoft.DirectX; Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D) are included from X:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\DirectX for Managed Code\1.0.2902.0\. I really like to begin coding DirectX. Do you know what this Message means? What shall I do?   Many thanks, Regards

Could not load file or assembly '0 bytes loaded from System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, Publ

Hi I have a clickonce deployed application in my machine. When I tried to load the application, 90% of the application window is getting loaded but finally, I get the following error: Could not load file or assembly '0 bytes loaded from System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I have read somewhere that this error could be caused when something goes wrong with the .net framework in the machine. My machine is having .Net framework 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5. So which framework should I reinstall? The application is developed using .net 2.0. Also, please let me know how the application is partially loading(90%) if the framework is corrupted.? Regards Anoop.

NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3603 - Fatal Execution Engine Error Encountered for Remoting Applicati

Hi,

We encountered a sudden "NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3603 - Fatal Execution Engine Error" which caused our application to be terminated. We googled this error, and we found that there was a problem with mscorwks.dll (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913384). This post is for Dec, 2007, but our servers have latest .NET Service Packs Installed. We feel that since .NET 2.0 SP2 is installed this error might have been fixed by Microsoft in SP2, not sure though. We are looking for any possible solutions, with which we can avoid this error again. I am mentioning the error and .NET software installed on our server below.

The application is installed as a Windows .NET Service and runs under Local System Account.

.NET Softwares Installed.

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable 2005

Below are the errors logged in the event viewer.

SSRS 2005 "Mixed" Authentication Mode

I have a web application where users can authenticate using either SiteMinder or Windows domain accounts.  This is actually configured as two separate virtual directories within IIS 6.  Both applications need to use the same instance of SSRS.  Is it possible to configure the SSRS web application so that if a user is authenticated by SiteMinder it impersonates a Windows account, but if they are already Windows-authenticated that account is used instead?

unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application

When I run it on any machine I get "unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application” and this same application successfully some other PCs   And these following processes I have already done: Repair and reinstall .net framework2.0 I also rebuild my application setup. Scan my PC with antivirus and install new updated antivirus I have format my pc and reinstall dotnet framwork2.0 and my project. And also download .net framework cleanup tool install it.     So if any one has solution excluding the above then plz give me as soon as possible.

Programmatic access to Assembly Version in Product Properties?

Using VS2008 and would like to get programmatic access to the Assembly Version property in my Project Properties but I can't seem to find a way to do this. Any suggestions? The project is a .dll and I want to expose this version information to the caller in my interface section as a string.

IIS Crash with Faulting application w3wp.exe, faulting module mscorwks.dll, version 2.0.50727.42

The scenario is that, a .Net Webservice is making calls to C++ DLL (made from VC6 studio) This app works perfectly well for sometimes or over a period or for a high volume of hits and suddenly you see IIS crash along with service crash with the following error "Faulting application w3wp.exe, faulting module mscorwks.dll, version 2.0.50727.42" There is no pattern for this problem. The work around is to restart the IIS.    Can anybody tell me what could be the issue here?

Mixed Mode application suddenly stops loading assemblies

I have a mixed modes application that will occasionally stop executing managed code assemblies after a Windows update. This has been occurring for over a month now so I have not been able to identify any particular update as the problem. We see the problem predominately on XPSP3 but have also seen several times on Vista and once or twice on 7. On a machine that stops working the Fusion log will show a file not found error on the last assembly loaded. LOG: This bind starts in default load context. LOG: No application configuration file found. LOG: Using machine configuration file from c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\config\machine.config. LOG: Post-policy reference: AProvider.Data.SqlClient.resources, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=en, PublicKeyToken=c84cd5c63851e072 LOG: The same bind was seen before, and was failed with hr = 0x80070002. ERR: Unrecoverable error occurred during pre-download check (hr = 0x80070002). If I delete this assembly, the application will run although not correctly since the data layer has been removed but it does execute as expected instead of hanging. If we run Procmon and watch the probes the correct folders are searched and the images show as loading. But execution fails, either the application hangs or exits. If we move the assemblies to a 'special' folder such as Program Files or Documents, regasm the p
