How to find who deleted records from table
I have a 90GB ContentDB, that was full of 1000's of infopath forms... I have deleted all the forms, and the database remains the same size, and when I go to shrink the database it says no free space is available in SQL Server Management Studio.
Do I have to wait for the recycle bin retention date to kick in, regardless of having deleted the data from BOTH the end user and site collection recycle bins?
I really need to get the size of the database down before backing it up and moving the site collection.
My problem seem quite contradiction. Not sure it's possible to do. My question is we used a symmatic software to backup our SQL databases. It require an admin right SQL user account to perform it. However some of database is quite
sensitive e.g HR data. I don't want to let the IT staff to make use of this privilege to read the data. Is there any solution on this?
is there a way to back up a database without backing up the data (table, view, procs)
also back up the jobs on a server/linked servers.
is the only option to script them all? I dont need the data just the items like I mentioned about
I have a requirement where i want to take SQL tables data (18 in number) and to take backup of data for every 3 months, there are millions of records are there and i want that 3 months old data should be archived and delete/truncate the data.
And how should i restore back this backup in case data is needed..
Thanks in advance... Please advise me i am not a DBA.
Thanks & Regards,
I had both sql server 2005 dev edition and sql server 2008 express installed on my laptop. Now there was a problem with my sql server 2008 and I wanted to reinstall it.
I made the mistake of using a third part uninstaller called revo uninstaller. This program not only executed the uninstall program of Sql Server 2008 but also deleted all related folders and registry entries. This caused the unintended side-effect of deleting
even my sql server 2005 folders.
All my mdfs are gone. I tried a undelete program Recuva, but it doesnt find any mdf files.
