Hi all, I add new table in to mu publisher database and reinitialize the subscriber. And i select the option to create new snapshot and marked as reinitialize. When it starts the reinitializing it clear all data from subscriber and coping again.Am i missing any thing here to add new table into existing replication ? Real-time data replication

Are there any ways to replicate sql server production database to a standby database? I notice that there is a feature called 'continuous replication', does it do in real-time? what is the time-lag? Are there any potential data loss (i.e., production transaction committed but production db corrupted before the transaction is sent to standby)? Is the standby database available for read access during the replication?

SQL 2008 Transaction Log too big from Replication

How do I clear transactions from log due to a failed attempt to setup replication?

which is best Snapshot Replication or Transaction Replication for my requirement?

Hi,    We have a main transaction database where all the live data is there. Now, to run a reporting application,we need a  different database, but the data is as EXACTLY as the live database. So,probaly every noght aroung 1 0'clock,we want to sync these two databases.   In this scenario, which is better, Snapshot replication or Transaction Replication? what are the pros and cons of using them? As I am new to this things,ur answers would be very much helpful..

SSIS For Each loop with data flow hangs on DTC (SID -2) when inside transaction

The short story: I have a data flow inside a For Each container that is inside a sequence container.  A transaction is established at the sequence container, with Isolation Level Serializable.  The For Each container is limited to execute only 4 iterations.  The data flow iterates once fine, but the second iteration hangs.  The Activity Monitor shows the process is waiting on a another process with a SID of -2.  From other research in the past, I have found that this is an internal process dedicated to DTC (Distributed Transaction Coordinator). Environment: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (SP3) on Windows 2008 R2 Standard.  I'm using SQL Server BIDS 2005 for building these packages.  I also have SQL Server 2008 installed and the databases are installed there. The details: The data flow merges data from the same table in two databases, source and target, using a Merge Join component.  It then performs a few transformations and lookups from other tables in the target DB to get IDs.  Then it inserts new records into the target DB or updates existing records in the target DB.  The two source tables are using OLE DB Source components with customized queries.  The insert target component is an OLE DB Destination and the update target component is an OLE DB Command.  In this particular scenario,

Merge replication - table with geography data type

I have a problem with geography data type replication. Any change that is done on a Geography column breaks the replication - the error message is "The Merge Agent failed because the schema of the article at the Publisher does not match the schema of the article at the Subscriber." I double checked compatibility settings that is suggested here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreplication/thread/d8e31621-5d43-48cd-bdd3-c02b8a24625c. But both publisher and subscriber are 100RTM.

I checked synchronization logs and found a strange message - attempt to convert varchar to geography. I don't understand from where the varchar data type comes from. Tables at subscriber and publisher has the same format - geometry stored in geography data type.

2010-09-20 18:36:22.499 The Merge Agent failed because the schema of the article at the Publisher does not match the schema of the article at the Subscriber. This can occur when there are pending DDL changes waiting to be applied at the Subscriber. Restart the Merge Agent to apply the DDL changes and synchronize the subscription.

Serve to server Transaction Replication error

I have windows 2003 sp2 servers each hosts SQL Server 2008 SP1 standard edition. I am trying to replicate both servers, using the tutorial available in the online documentation <Tutorial: Replicating Data Between Continuously Connected Servers> which can be found at: ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v10/MS.SQLSVR.v10.en/s10rp_1devconc/html/9c55aa3c-4664-41fc-943f-e817c31aad5e.htm

I have created the users (repl_logreader, repl_distibution, repl_snapshot, and repl_merge and setting their security. Then I have created the distibutor, setting database security as mentioned in the document, and last creating the publication with a snapshot to be run immediately, distributor and publisher are on the same server and the publication will be pushed to the subscriber. Once the publication is created succesfully, I am checking the agents to see the errors. I am always stuck with the following two error messages:

1- snapshot agent error:

Error messages:

Message: Failed to create AppDomain "mssqlsystemresource.dbo[runtime].1090".
The domain manager specified by the host could not be instantiated.
Failed to create AppDomain "mssqlsystemresource.dbo[runtime].1091".

Bi-Directional Transaction Replication?

hi all

i want to know how to reslove conflicts when using Bi-directional transactional replication ,,conflicts like

1-If you insert a record that has a key into a table on one of the servers and another record that has the same key already exists on the other servers that participate in the replication, the replication does not propagate the changes to the other servers.

2-When you update a column in a record that is updated at the same time on another server, the data may be different on the two servers.

3-When you update different columns in a record, simultaneous updates of different columns of a record may sometimes lead to conflicts.

4-When you delete a row that is being deleted at the same time on another server that is participating in the replication, the replication fails because the DELETE statement does not affect any rows on some of the subscribers.

..i need help to know what to do to handle this conflicts and if there is any implementation or any ideas about this issue

SQL Server 2008 Merge Replication article triggers not replicating

Currently running merge replication on SQL Server 2008 10.0.1600 and having issues with adding and modifying triggers on published articles.  I've searched through the MSDN site and googled it but have not found any definitive information on correct procecdures.

We have a replicated table that had 1 trigger on it when it was added to the publication.  That trigger was replicated.  We have since added a 2nd trigger to the table and it is not being replicated to our other server.  I've checked the Article Properties and Copy User Triggers is set to TRUE.  The only difference is the new trigger has NOT FOR REPLICATION in it, but I thought that would only keep it from being executed if a row is effected by the MERGE process.

We have rerun the snapshot and are syncing continuosly and the trigger does not replicate.  Do I have to drop the tablefrom the publication and then re-add it?  Am I missing something?

Sanpshot Replication of all objects and Table Schema but no Data

Can this be done? I just want all database objects to be pushed out to a subscriber once a week via snapshot replication. Procs, tables, triggers, functions etc but I dont want any of the table data

Thanks in advance

Clear data in views of multiview

I created a asp.net survey program in which there is a multiview to store different questions and answers.
There are 5 views in a multiview. Each view has varies controls, such as text boxes, dropdown lists, check boxes.
Every time, once user move to next customer, I want to clear all data within 5 views and then start over.
Is there a easy to do it?

Transaction LOG shipping of a Std. Transactional Replication

I have a primary database replicated to another server where I have added legacy data to the subscription.

1.Can i perform Tx Log shipping of this subscription  to another server?

2. Republishing of the subscriber was very hard to maintain and throws errors when ever the servers involved are restarted. Can Log shipping help in this respect?

3. Question: Can we add static data to the subscriber when using LOG shipping? Thanks

Deadlock: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Transaction (Process ID 51) was deadlocked on lock res

I have a deadlock problem that occurs every 5 minutes on SQL update. I get the following error randomly - means qurey failed one time every 200 calls. I'm using transaction scope to manage transaction.

using(TransactionScope scope = new TransactionScope())

Reinitialize Transactional replication

Hi all, in the event that transactional replication fails, and all attempts to fix it fail, what is the quickest method to re sync the subscriber with the publisher?

Please explain detailed steps and different approaches.

data is not replicating betwwwn two servers

we implemented replication between 2 servers. But from one week onwards master data is not replicating to another server.

All agents are running fine. From Repl monitor also we didn't find any error. When gone thru view synchronisatiuon status it is also running fine.

i am not able find exact root cause .can any one suggest me is there any root cause for this issue.
