SQL Job Running the Upgrade Step, but the Step Fails

I have reviewed the following thread (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqldatabaseengine/thread/1c06be77-3fa9-42d8-9803-6649be65afd6), but I do not think it applies to my case, b/c I have no other processes running, except the RESTORE DATABASE process. In SSMS, when I EXEC spCent, the user-defined stored procedure runs successfully. When the same SQL command is executed from a SQL Job, the job fails, and job history is like the following: Message: Executed as user: NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE. ...on file 1. The stored proc looks like this: ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp

Sharepoint Product and Technologies Configuration Wizard fails at step 8 for sharepoint 2007

Hi All, I have upgraded moss 2007 with Service Pack 2 after successfully completion of installation automatic Configuration  started and it got succeed till step 7 when it reaches to step 8 after some time it get fails. Please help me to recover. Thanks in Advance. Mohammed

Installation of Sharepoint 2007 Service pack 2 fails on Step 8 of Sharepoint Configuration Wizard

Here's the deal:-

Our test environment consists of one SQL Server 2005 machine, 1 Domain Controller and 1 Windows 2008 R2 server with Sharepoint 2007 and Project 2007 installed.

We wanted to test the installation of Sharepoint 2007 Service Pack 2 in our test environment. I followed the instructions available from Technet to install both the WSS 3.0 SP2 and MOSS 2007 SP2 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637740(office.12).aspx BUT the last part of the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard failed with the following error:-

SQL Database 'ProjectServer_Published' on SQL Server instance 'SPDatabaseServiceInstance'

not found. Additional error information from SQL

Server is included below.

Cannot open database "ProjectServer_Published" requested by the login.

The login failed.

Login failed for user 'domain\FarmAdmin'.

The weird thing is my database is called 'MTL_Project_Published'

So it looks like it's looking for the old project databases.

Has anyone encountered this issue before when installing the service pack 2 of Sharepoint 2007 in their environment?

I have tried all the other solutions posted on the Internet such as running the upgrade via the command prompt, cleari

Running SSIS job step as Proxy account does not find log provider for windows event log

When I run a ssis job step using a proxy account i get this error message:

Description: The log provider type "DTS.LogProviderEventLog.2" specified for log provider "SSIS log provider for Windows Event Log" is not recognized as a valid log provider type. This error occurs when an attempt is made to create a log provider for unknown log provider type. Verify the spelling in the log provider type name.  End Error  Error: 2010-02-02 14:43:03.88     Code: 0xC0010021     Source:       Description: Element "{028F8760-7E28-4F62-A204-66F33F4064BE}" does not exist in collection "LogProviders".

If the account is a member of administrators group on the sql server the job step works fine.

Since the logprovider DTS.LogProviderEventLog.2 exists on the system I guess that this has something to do with access rights, probably to some registry key(s), but I cannot find out which part of the registry the proxy user does not have access to.

When running the same package using DTEXEC in a Command Prompt and using RUNAS <proxyuser> the package works fine and writes to the event log.

Kind regards

update 17-Feb-2010: Microsoft has reproduced this situation and I hope to get a workaround or fix soon :-

Running a job step "run as" blank

I need to run a job step as 'sa' in order to use a linked server which only allows connections via 'sa'.  SQL Agent runs as a service account.  When I look in the "run as" box on the job step, there are no values.

What do I need to do to get 'sa' to show as an option in the 'run as' box?

Security Briefs: Step-by-Step Guide to InfoCard

In my April 2006 column I began a discussion of InfoCard, the upcoming identity metasystem, which is being prepared for release in the Windows VistaT timeframe. If you haven't read that column, you should definitely start there because I'm going to assume you're familiar with the basics I covered.

Need step-by-step Custom Template Help

I would like to create 5 custom templates and deploy the same ones to all 13 site collections (living under one web app). Here's what I can successfully do: 1. Create a site 2. Turn off features (on a hunch after experiencing the below problems) 3. Add branding, web parts, etc. 4. Site Settings -> Save Site as Template 5. Test by immediately creating a site in the same site collection with the template (this works). However: * Weeks to months after creating the template, it stops working (in the same site collection). Could be something I'm configuring, I don't know. Users get message "The template you have chosen is invalid or cannot be found." * If I go to the template gallery, right-click and save-as,  put the template on my desktop, and then upload it to another site collection, it doesn't work in the new site collection. Again, "The template you have chosen is invalid or cannot be found." When I open the template and look at the code, I see references to absolute URLs from the site where the template was created. Would really prefer to deploy these templates without coding. * If I use stsadm -o addtemplate -filename "filename.stp" -title "title" the template also doesn't work. It allows me to create a site with it and set permissions, but then I immediately get: Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be
