I am trying to consume a service ans keep getting the above faultstring.

The web service implementents wse3.0 security and "simple policy".

This is the soap that gets sent:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

Viewmodel property not set to [Required] yet getting error message saying it is?

I have a viewmodel that i use for my view

public int SelectionId{ get; set; }
public IEnumerable<Selections> Selections { get; set; }

Notice that SelectionId is not decorated with [Required]. In my view, i use DropDownFor like this:

<%= Html.DropDownListFor(m => m.SelectionId, new SelectList(Model.Selections, "Id", "Name"), "--- Select ---")%>

It should be possible to not select anything from the dropdown, resulting in model.SelectionId = 0, which is fine. Why do i get a "SelectionId field is required" error when i Post?  If i do this:

<%= Html.DropDownList(mySelectionId, new SelectList(Model.Selections, "Id", "Name"), "--- Select ---")%>

I no longer get the error if i dont select anything, which is what i want - but no way to bind it to the id if the user does select something

thanks for any help!

ws-addressing 'Action' required message part not signed exception

I have a WCF client calling a Java-based service. The service vendor is supporting WCF clients. The WCF client binding uses authenticationMode="MutualCertificate", messageVersion="Soap11WSAddressing10" and the message is signed and encrypted (SignBeforeEncrypt). WCF, in this case, is automatically signing all the ws-addressing ( <Action>, <MessageID> and <To> ) headers. The message gets to the service and comes back with what appears to be valid encrypted data in the response BUT the client is throwing a "The 'Action', 'http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing' required message part was not signed" exception (mscorlib). Questions: Is there a way to NOT sign the ws-addressing headers in the request message while still using both signing and encryption (X.509 certs)? If the client DOES sign the ws-addressing headers in the request, is there a way to configure WCF to accept UNsigned ws-addressing headers in the response? If the answer is NO on both questions, I guess I will have to ask the service vendor to sign the ws-addressing headers in the response. Thanks.

WCF Exception "Message security verification failed" only with header!

Hi, I've got a WCF service doing Username authentication. I authenticate with AD and authorize using AzMan on AD. I'm hosting the service in IIS 6 and its running in an app pool that runs in a domain account that has read rights on the AD. I have a custom header that goes both ways. Everything works well until I assign the custom header to return. If I never assign the custom header to return everything is ok but if I do assign the custom header to return I get the error:- Message security verification failed.Duplicate attribute found. Both 'u:Id' and 'u:Id' are from the namespace 'http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd'. Line 1, position 520. I've got service level message tracing and I can see the secure conversation stuff happening and the messages going across the interface.   If anyone has any ideas I'd be most appreciative.   Thanks,   Andy

Security processor was unable to find a security header in the message

Recently on one of my machines, my client (WCF client) is having problem talking to WCF server. Both server and client are running on the same machine. The machine is Windows7 64 bit machine. It used to work fine until recently. The same software is working fine on all other machines with exactly same configuration. I am really confused here. Could someone please let me know what could be the problem?

Exception Type:

System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException, System.ServiceModel, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089

Security processor was unable to find a security header in the message. This might be because the message is an unsecured fault or because there is a binding mismatch between the communicating parties. This can occur if the service is configured for security and the client is not using security.

Detecting Bounces with return-path message header

I am coding an application that sends out automated emails for my company's clients, and tracks data (opens, click throughs, etc).  I am having problems trying to figure out how to track bounce messages though.  The From and ReplyTo email addresses are the clients (i.e. info@clientdomain.org, and contactus@clientdomain.org).  Currently, Bounce messages are being sent to the From email address.  In order to track and record the bounces in my company's database, I need to have the bounces instead sent to my company's domain (i.e. bounce@mycompany.com).

I am using C#, and the builtin System.Net.Mail code libraries to send SMTP messages through our company's Exchange Server (2003).  The code I am using looks something like this:

Code Snippet

MailMessage message = new MailMessage();
message.From = new MailMessage("info@clientdomain.org");
message.ReplyTo = new MailMessage("contactus@clientdomain.org")
message.To.Add(new MailMessage("customer1@blahblahblah.com"));
message.Subject = subjectString;
message.Body = bodyString;

SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient();
client.Host = emailServerHostName
client.Port = emailServerPort
client.Credentials = emailServe

Adding SOAP header to a SOAP message

Hi guys I am a bit of newbie to SOAP message handling here....
I just want to quote my example here and ask for some assistance...I have been scratching my (bald) head for a couple of days on this and get quite panic....

I have a SQL server Integration Service (SSIS) 2005 package that uses Visual Studio 2005 VB script to consume a third-party WCF Web service in proxy class .  The third party company generated a proxy class in VB for me and I copied and pasted the code into my SSIS VB script task.  For your information, SSIS 2005 is .NET 2.0 framework based.

Here is the beginning of the proxy class:
Namespace abc.xxx.xxxxxxx.Client.xxxxx
    <System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("wsdl", "2.0.50727.3038"), _
     System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute(), _

BasicHttp binding service failing when receiving a message with a To soap header

My WCF service is exposed through a basicHttp binding.

When I receive the following message

 <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <s:Header> <To s:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2005/05/addressing/none">http://biztalk01:81/StuffServices.svc</To> </s:Header> <s:Body> <ns0:GetMyStuff xmlns:ns0="http://example.com/stuff" xmlns:ns1="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/Arrays"> <ns0:inputArray> <ns1:string>80220</ns1:string> </ns0:inputArray> </ns0:GetMyStuff > </s:Body> </s:Envelope>

it gives a fault back, but if I try in soapUI to send the exact same request without the To header (deleting the "<To s:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2005/05/addressing/none" >http://biztalk01:81/StuffServices.svc "), then it works fine and returns the correct response.

Do I have any way to make my service handle that request including a To header correctly?

I tried changing my binding to a CustomBinding as described here : http://blog.irm.se/blogs/eric/archive/2008/07/04/WS_2D00_Addressing-and-WCF.aspx

but that only resulted in the IIS worker proc

Unit Testing SharePoint - Past, Present, and Sporm

As I described in SharePoint: The Wild West of Software Development there is a serious problem when you develop for SharePoint: ensuring quality through unit testing is really, really hard. And that's where a new open source tool just released today called sporm (SharePoint Object Relational Mapper) comes in. While sporm provides many benefits besides simplified unit testing I wanted to focus on this topic first, because sporm's approach, which models the entity framework in the way it supports POCO's, is a unique feature not available with other SharePoint tools like LINQ to SharePoint.

Rendering ASP.NET Script References into the Html Header

One thing that I've come to appreciate in control development in ASP.NET that use JavaScript is the ability to have more control over script and script include placement than ASP.NET provides natively. Specifically in ASP.NET you can use either the ClientScriptManager or ScriptManager to embed scripts and script references into pages via code.
