Outlook/MAPI Mail Preview Handler

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 31, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework
Hey,I am trying to implement the Preview Pane from explorer into my .net application. I have followed http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/07/01/PreviewHandlers/default.aspx and gotten almost all handlers to work except the preview handler for Outlook email.I lookup the correct CLSID in registry and uses the Activator to create an instance. Wich allso works perfect and it for all other Preview Handler, it also casts well to IPreviewHandler. But unlike other Preview Handlers, i am not able to cast it to one of the two interfaces mentioned by Microsoft IInitializeWithFile or IInitializeWithStream, which are used for loading the file into the preview handler. Do anyone know of another interface used to load files i Preview Handlers? SQL and Outlook: Enable Database Access and Updates Through Exchange and Any E-mail Client

Using Microsoft technologies, you can insert, edit, query, and delete database entries using any e-mail client such as Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or even WAP phone. While e-mail is certainly a powerful and widely used tool, it is usually not integrated with an application for performing any tasks other than sending reminders. The application scenario described here, an e-mail-based SQL update program, uses a simple data model; however, this solution will apply to any data model that you are working with. It will also eliminate the need for complex n-tier Internet applications and serves as a low maintenance solution for providing data access.

Event Handler (send mail task) firing multiple times for each dataflow error - How can I stop the da

I've set up an OnError event handler for my package which sends an email containing the name of the file that fails import through my dataflow task. The problem is the dataflow experiences three errors (one for each task it is attempting to complete) which in turn causes three duplicate emails to be sent.

I'd prefer to stop the dataflow task completely rather than allow it to try to complete the remaining tasks after the first error. Is this possible? Alternately, how can I set up my event handler to only send one email regardless of the number of dataflow errors that occur?

Thanks in advance!

Creating Event Handler in Code behind

Hi, so I have a control that is created in the code behind and generates fine but I can't figure out how to create an event handler for it.  I've found plenty of examples for it in C sharp, but none of them seem to apply to VB.  What I want to do is essentially this:

myDropDownList.SelectedIndexChanged = "Event to do here"

but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Email Help (System.Net.Mail)

Hi I have a annoying problem.
I have created a page which takes users details for a quote.

I have then created the form to be emailed to both the user and myself. (Which works fine ATM)

However I would also like to be able to attach a file containing terms and conditions to the email.

I have tried doing this using

EmailMsg.Attachments.Add(new Attachment("C:\\attachme.txt"));

But everytime that line of code is hit it fails and is caught by my try catch.

Take that line out and the email sends fine, put it in and it breaks the whole page.

Am I missing something really obvious?
