References parameter in $create() method

Could someone please explain what exactly the references parameter of the $create() method does? my understading from reading the docs is you can pass in a reference to an already created (javascript ?)object that can then be referenced by the object being created. Is this correct? If so, how do I reference the objects passed in using this parameter in the class in question.

This page http://www.asp.net/ajax/documentation/live/clientreference/Sys/ComponentClass/ComponentCreateMethod.aspx mentions it, but does not expand on usage

create web service with http-post method

hi All,

we need to expose a web service to the 3rd party vendor which can only call using POST protocol, NOT SOAP.

So my question, is it better to build a web service or just simply .aspx page?

Also is there any best practice documentation on this.

Create Instance of a method??? what?

 Hello guys, I found an example that basically what it does is make an instance of a method (or so it seems that way). Is not that not that I don't understand what the code is trying to accomplish. I want to know what else can I do, or under what topic can I find more info. Searched the web and no luck:

static void Main(string[] args)
			Program program = new Program();
			CmdClass1 cmd1 = new CmdClass1();
			CmdClass2 cmd2 = new CmdClass2();

REST WCF service. Unable to create Upload method for binary

I want to create a REST WCF service that can receive an image (binary).

Following this and this article I still cannot get it working. Only difference is I use IIS as host for my service, which means it runs in Cassini webserver.

I have this ServiceContract:

    public interface IImages

        [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "UploadFile/{fileName}")]
        void UploadFile(string fileName, System.IO.Stream fileContents);

I then also have this class:

CREATE AGGREGATE failed because type .. does not conform to UDAGG specification due to method 'Init

I am trying to get the CLR user-defined aggregate functions sample working (VB version).

I've saved the sample (from Invoking CLR User-Defined Aggregate Functions ) to a .vb file and compiled it like this:

.0.50727\vbc  /t:library /out: SQLutils.dll Class1.vb
Microsoft (R) Visual Basic Compiler versie 8.0.50727.42
voor Microsoft (R) .NET Framework versie 2.0.50727.42
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. Alle rechten voorbehouden.

The SQLutils.dll file is created without warnings or errors.

I've created the assembly

create assembly sqlutildll from 'D:\SQLdata\dll\SQLutils.dll'

and then the function:

HDI: Create a method that acts on a property

Thinking about new C# method prototypes: object as dictionary

I recently had to write a small Flickr API. I know many .Net API for Flickr already exist but I needed one for a Silverlight application. Whatever, it's only about building some querystrings so I did it by myself. It's been an opportunity to think again about a classical question: how to pass parameters to a method ?

Imagine you have a generic method to call some Flickr functions.

Create And Run Excel Macro At Runtime in C#

You've been tasked with writing a Windows Form application using the .NET Framework that interacts with Microsoft Excel. If you are new to working with Excel in .NET and are having trouble learning how to format certain cells or cell ranges, then this little tip will come in handy. Rather than scour the internet hoping to find the correct set of constants or method syntax for formatting your spreadsheet, use the built in tools in Excel to write the familiar VBA code for you. Then, you can paste the VBA code generated by Excel into the sample C# code below and run it dynamically at runtime.

Create and Use a Typed DataSet by Using Visual C# .NET

How to create a windows mobile (Smart Device) .Cab installer

A Cab file is the default setup format for Windows CE and Windows Mobile devices (similar to windows .msi files). You probably already have installed several application using .cab files, and are familiar with the concept. One point which is often unknown is that .cab files are processed by wceloader.exe, and it can only install one .cab file at a time. That means we cannot have nested .cab files. It doesn't mean we cannot have .cab files contained by another .cab, but the contained .cab files will not be installed during the installation of the container .cab. We should install it manually after the container .cab file installation has been completed.

There are two ways to create a cabinet (.Cab) file. The traditional one, and the friendly VS Smart Device Cab project which doesn't require additional coding, but which also relies on the traditional one at low-level.
