Winforms running in WPF solution loses XP style

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 31, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

We have a Winforms solution that we are converting to a WPF solution.  In our WPF solution, we add existing Winforms objects which works great.  My problem is when I compile and run the new .exe created from the WPF solution, my Winforms which appeared as XP style in the Winforms solution, now appears like the old Win95 style (buttons are square instead of rounded corners, etc.)... just kinda ugly. Is there some setting in the WPF solution where I can tell it to make my Winforms appear in the XP style? Thanks in advance for your help.

CalendarExtender loses style when placed inside a web user control.

I'm losing the format of the calendarExtender when I include it within a web user control. The code below is included within a user control. The user control is then dropped onto a page.

ASP.NET repeater control - databind with style

even used the inline editing features, which I at the time thought was the coolest way possible to write ASP.NET code ( I managed to write code to hide all other rows and only show the current one - the row being edited). With a nice looking EditTemplate it looked indeed very slick but it really turned into giant and hard to manage code behind files.

A Simple and Extensible Radio Button Style GridView

The GridView is one of the significant controls in ASP.NET 2.0 and later versions. No doubt it reduces a lot of work time. However, customizing the GridView control is not an easy task. For example, it's hard to add a radio button column to the GridView. This article demonstrates the reason why a radio button column cannot act as normal and how to create a simple and extensible radio button GridView.

Show grand total running total in GridView Footer

In many scenarios we need to display Running total as well as Grand total in GridView footer. In this post i will try to explain in an easy way that how we can display running total & Grand total in a GridView footer combindly. To explain this solution using an example here i use a sales order report. The report contains all sales order amount in a tabular way. I will use a GridView to display sales order amount and use GridView footer to display Running total & Grand total. Let we have a customer table with id and name column plus an orders table with OrderID,CustomerID,OrderDate & Amount. Now our goal is to show all customers order with amount as well as page wise running total & grand total. Note that running total is necessary when you enable paging in a GridView where as Grand total is always you can consider.

MS Word style comments in asp.net

Hello.

I need to create a system, that will be similar to ms word style comments. So the idea is the following: on the page there are a pack of text boxes labels and so on, and user need have the way to comment each control, and save commented text, for example to DB, so the others can reed comments too.

I tried PopUpControlExtender, but it works in single way, and i cannot view all the popups in one time. Or may be i missed something and there is a way to popup all the controls at one time?

Therefore, are there any known solutions for a discribed task, based on PopUpControlExtender or something else?

Client script not running

Dear all,

in my MVC 2 application, and in the shared Master Page I wrote this little script for menu handling :

<script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () {

The script, that shows menu items when the

Very Basic Question - Error message running first page

Hi Everyone,

I am running Windows 7 and I have gone into Control Panel and activated all of the IIS Functions.

The web application I am running was downloaded from the net (and has worked on other machines previously).  Once I downloaded it, I moved it into C:/inetpub/wwwroot/code/main.asp

I am a bit of a novice at this!  But I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

I get the following error when I try and run the web application through IE:

"An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator. If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error."

(When i click the "click here" button it just goes to the IIS site).

Appreciate any help I can get!

Thankyou!

Solution/project structure

Hello, I am working in a aspx web application that must be built in several separate "modules" with different functionality which will be partly developed by different teams.

However, I need the completed app to reside in ONE virtual directory. There will be a single startup page. I need session state to be preserved across pages in different modules.

I structured it as one solution with different Web Projects and one class library project with common functionalities.

Questions:

1) is this the right approach to do this? Or which one would be better?

2) each time I add a new web project to the solution, a new web.config gets created. What do I do and where do I put them?

VS 2010 + framework 4.0 + TFS

Regarding TFS and source control, I have a single Team project, the solution and web projects are inside it.

Thanks!

Arabic QueryString with Url Rewrite Solution

Alsalamo 3alaykom ,

as we know that if you use Intelligencia.UrlRewriter.RewriterHttpModule or IIS URL Rewriting , we will face problems with arabic urls

as this

http://localhost:1234/Pages/???? ?????? ?????? ??????????

and the Rule is :

<rewrite url="~/Pages/(.+)" to="~/ShowPages.aspx?Page=$1" />

you will recive the QueryString["Page"] Like this

نائب العميد للشؤون الأكاديمية

so it's a big problem , and there is a solution that is :

remove the Rule of that rewriting ,,

<rewrite url="~/Pages/(.+)" to="~/ShowPages.aspx?Page=$1" />

then open your Global.asax file and Application_BeginRequest method exactly

use the following code to handle you request

void Application_BeginRequest(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.ToString().Contains("/Pages/"))
{
	String[] txt= Regex.Split(HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.ToString(), @"/");
	String page = txt[txt.Length-1];
	HttpContext.Current.RewritePath("~/Sh

AD FS 2.0 in Identity Solutions: Using Active Directory Federation Services 2.0 in Identity Solution

This article explains how you can use Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) 2.0 to claims-enable Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services and browser-based applications. The focus is on the token issuance functionality in AD FS 2.0. You'll find out how to use AD FS 2.0 as an identity provider; set up an AD FS 2.0 security token service (STS) to interact with WCF; federate AD FS 2.0 with your custom STS or another AD FS 2.0; enable Web single sign-on and federation with WS-Federation and SAML 2.0 protocols; and externalize authentication logic through Visual Studio. You'll come away appreciating how AD FS 2.0 and Windows Identity Foundation make programming identity solutions in Windows less of a chore.
