SSRS problem with passing multiple parameter values via URL %2c

Hi, I have a problem with passing multiple parameter values from one report (A) to another report (B).   For example I built a URL string in report (A) with the parameters like &Parameter1=1&Parameter1=2. As soon as I click on that URL the URL parameters look like &Parameter1=1%2c2 and the parameters don’t getting populated on report (B).   If I change the parameter in the URL to &Parameter1=1&Parameter1=2 and execute the URL manual the parameter on report (B) getting populated properly.   Is there a way to disable the coding like %2c (comma) or is there another solution for it?   Thanks

Any way to pass Multiple Values for a single Label in the Parameter?

  I have a Report that Contains 2 Parameters, @Customer & @Area. When trying to set up the Available Values for @Area, I'm having issues using multiple values for one Label, i.e. = "4006" Or "4610" One of the Filters in the Report is an Operation number, which is the [OPERATION] field, which is setup as a filter on the Tablix referencing the @Area parameter.  PROBLEM: I cannot retrieve any data when trying to use the ‘Or’ Operator here. If I simply put “4006” or “4610” I retrieve data, but when trying to combine it returns no data. Example, I need to allow a user to select ‘Chassis Incoming’, which would include data from Operations 4006 & 4610. QUESTION: Any way to pass Multiple Values for a single Label in the Parameter? I realize the typical solution may be to use ‘Multi-Value’ selection, but in this case we want the User to select the Area and the multiple values for Filtering will be automatically determined for them. Otherwise, they are subject to not getting it correct. I have tried several different ways, such as =”4006” Or “4610”, =(“4006”, “4610”), = In(“4006”, “4610”), etc….   Note: We are using Report Builder 3.0

Multiple Parameter Option

The Code below is used in a text box in my report.

"Count of "+Parameters!Type.Value(0)+" patients - period from "+FORMAT(Parameters!StartDate.Value, "dd/MM/yyyy")+" to " +FORMAT(Parameters!EndDate.Value, "dd/MM/yyyy")

I'm having trouble with the Type Parameter, it uses a multiple parameter selection, so when a user selects a single parameter option, it appear fine, but when the "select all" option is select only the first option is shown!

So for example, if the Type parameter is a list of fruits, when Apple is selected then the text box would show Apple, but when Apple and Pears is chosen then on Apple is shown, how can i get to show "Apples, Pears"

Multiple values in field as parameter

Hello, I want to use values from a field in a sql server table as paramters in my tsql query. The problem is that the data in the field is as follows:

1. There may be only one value, such as '6000'.

2. There may be more than one value, seperated by |, such as '6000'|'6001' This would mean all values that are equal to 6000 or 6001

3. There may be more than one value, seperated by .., such as '6000'..'7000' This would mean all values that are from 6000 through 7000

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

sql passing multiple value in single parameter

Hi all ,

I have a stored procedure with one parameter @reportname where i am suppose to pass report name to diplay data ,but i want this parameter to accept multiple value n.means if i give multiple reportname then it should get insert in my table ..i am writing the script..below..

procedure [dbo].[abc11](@ReportName nvarchar(500

Can a single Parameter be used for multiple columns in the query.

Hi all,

I was trying to create a report with a slight different kind of requirement,

Actually I have 5 Columns in a table from which I want the user to be capable to view the data based on any combination for those columns.

For Example:

I have a table Employee with attributes: Name / Age / Salary / STATE

Now I want the user to be capable of selecting any combination for these columns and then running the report, Actually the report will behave like a Select Query with Where clause with AND conditions for all columns.

Report design should be like this:

FIRST prompt:   Select Column name  ex: AGE

SECOND prompt:   Select Column Value ex: 30

(now store this value somewhere and allow the user to again select a different column name like STATE, and the SECOND prompt will show all distinct STATEvalues, then user selects for ex: NEW YORK

Then when USER clicks VIEW REPORT:

Show all the employees where AGE = 30 and STATE = NEW YORK.

Is it possible ? as I dont want to create 10 prompts for 5 columns separately.

Any help is appreciated.

sharing a multivalue parameter of the report accross multiple dimensions ?

My problem is quite simple : I'm generating a report that uses 2 cubes as sources. The 2 cubes have a time dimensions.

These time dimensions are multivalued parameters for the report.

Today the user needs to select multiple time the periods he's looking for. I would like him to select his values only once and then pass them to all the parameters.

For example, he would select Q1 2009, Q1 2010, Q2 2010 and all the time parameters would take these values.

Any idea ?

Parameter queries running multiple times

Currently running SQL 2005 sp2 SSRS.  We were in the process of tuning a report's queries against DB2 when our DBA noticed in the tracing log that the queries used for the parameter list is ran 2 times for each parameter.  They are cascading parameters with a Date only, but we tested removing the dependancy and the parameter query still ran 2 times.  We tested setting all the default values for initially opening the report and after we just opened the report and it rendered, nothing else was touched, the parameter queries all ran 2 times.  Any idea of why this happens.  I tried to search for this and couldn't find anything.

Passing multiple parameter in NavigateUrl (hyperlink) in GridView

Have created a gridview with a hyperlink column (in template)  in it.

I need to pass 3 or 4 values to the web form by clicking hyperlink column in gridview.

I have managed to pass a single value to web form.

<asp:HyperLink Runat="server" ID="hlDividents" NavigateUrl='<%# Eval("Dividents", "TreatyRuleDetail.aspx?Rate={0}") %>' Text='<%# Eval("Dividents") %>

Search in (multiple value) Parameter (for usage in WHERE-clause)

Hi there,

I'd like to give you a little bit of a background story first in order to explain my problem better:

I have created a report, where there is a parameter with multiple values - in this case country codes like DE, DK, FR, GB etc. .
These values are selected with the help of a query out of a MS SQL 2008 database (Navision).

Now the problem is, that in the customer-database where the single lines contain the information of the country code, there is a country code for each foreign customer, but not for the domestic customers. These are simply blank.
Apparently this can not be changed easily and I have to cope with it.

Example of the problem:

Let's say that the domestic country is DK. So there is no actual value for customers of DK, just a blank 'value'.
The parameterlist contains DK because it is in the country database, where I get the information from.

So if the reportingservices user selects something in the parameter like "DK, GB", I could query something like:

SELECT bla, blub, [Country Code]
FROM    Customer
WHERE  [Country Code] IN (@Country_Paramater, '')

The , '' because I also want to have the empty country codes.  This works fine... until I decide NOT to show domestic data in the parameters.
Example: Reportingservices

Loading multiple flat files files- MultipleFlatFile Connection Manager vs For each loop approach

Hi Folks

I need to load multiple  files from a folder into a package. Can someone explain the pros and cons of using the "Multiple Flat file connection manager" vs using a" For each loop" type approach (e.g http://bi-polar23.blogspot.com/2007/08/loading-multiple-excel-files-with-ssis.html).

Many thanks

Pass multiple values to an array parameter of an action

Hello guys,

ca anyone tell me how to get an url Like http://localhost/xxx/ControlerName/ActionName/2,3,4

to map to an Action having an int[] parameter?

For example to a Action with Signature:

1    public ActionResult Index(int[] ids)
2    {
4    }

1    public ActionResult Index(List<int> id)
2    {
4    }

I couldn't find any logic for doing this. So I've implemented an ActionFilterAttribute, but I would prefer to use an built in logic.
But if there's no built in logic, feel free to use my logic:

1    [ArrayOrListParameterAttribute("ids", ",")]
2    public ActionResult Index(List<int> ids)
3    {
5    }
7    [ArrayOrListParameterAttribute("ids", ","

Multiple database support with Entity Framework

One of the features introduced in Entity Framework is being database independent. Which mean each database provider can support Entity Framework by implementing its provider.

This feature allows you build applications independent from the underplaying database provider. In this post I'm going to show how to build an application that support multiple databases using same conceptual model made by Entity Framework.

Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) Loop

discovered an interesting error recently while working with Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) that, surprisingly, had received no ink. Partly what surprises me about this is that the error may require you to rewrite large sections of your code if you haven't previously considered this SharePoint limitation. I'll start with some context, but first of all the error is:
