CLR Trigger with stored procedures - transaction error

Hi, I've developed sample CLR trigger which call stored procedure but if execution of stored procedure fail I got following exception The context transaction which was active before entering user defined routine, trigger or aggregate "CskTest" has been ended inside of it, which is not allowed. Change application logic to enforce strict transaction nesting. The statement has been terminated.  My trigger [SqlTrigger(Event = "FOR INSERT", Name = "CskTest", Target = "Requirement")] public static void HandleRequirement() { using ( SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection("Context Connection=true") ) { SqlCommand cmd = conn.CreateCommand(); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.CommandText = "Test"; conn.Open(); try { cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch ( Exception ex ) { SqlContext.Pipe.Send(ex.Message); } } } I wanna handle this exception in my catch block. How can I do this?

Implementing Transaction in SSIS Package - [Execute SQL Task] Error: Failed to acquire connection "<

I have a simple SSIS package with three "Execute SQL Tasks". I am using ADO.Net Connection to execute SPs on a DB server. When I execute this package It works fine. So far so good. Now, I need to implement transation on this package. And problem starts now onwards. When I try to execute package after setting TransationOption = Required for the Sequence container which contains all the tasks, I get following error. [Execute SQL Task] Error: Failed to acquire connection "NYCDB0008.Export". Connection may not be configured correctly or you may not have the right permissions on this connection. "NYCDB0008.Export" is the name of the ADO.Net connection. I have been hunting for any solution but all in vain. I have tried changing all DTC settings on the dev as well as Database server. Please respond if anyone has any solution. Thanks! Anand

Serve to server Transaction Replication error

I have windows 2003 sp2 servers each hosts SQL Server 2008 SP1 standard edition. I am trying to replicate both servers, using the tutorial available in the online documentation <Tutorial: Replicating Data Between Continuously Connected Servers> which can be found at: ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v10/MS.SQLSVR.v10.en/s10rp_1devconc/html/9c55aa3c-4664-41fc-943f-e817c31aad5e.htm

I have created the users (repl_logreader, repl_distibution, repl_snapshot, and repl_merge and setting their security. Then I have created the distibutor, setting database security as mentioned in the document, and last creating the publication with a snapshot to be run immediately, distributor and publisher are on the same server and the publication will be pushed to the subscriber. Once the publication is created succesfully, I am checking the agents to see the errors. I am always stuck with the following two error messages:

1- snapshot agent error:

Error messages:

Message: Failed to create AppDomain "mssqlsystemresource.dbo[runtime].1090".
The domain manager specified by the host could not be instantiated.
Failed to create AppDomain "mssqlsystemresource.dbo[runtime].1091".

with the transaction primary key violation error

i notice with in the transaction primary key violation error but all data never rollback,

use tempdb
drop table T1
create table T1(c1 int primary key, c2 varchar(5));
select * from T1
begin tran
insert into T1 select 1,'A'
insert into T1 select 2,'B'
insert into T1 select 2,'B'
insert into T1 select 3,'D'
commit tran
select * from T1

i need to know what is the sql server logic behind this?

How to prevent uncommittable transaction and catch the error message when error occurs?

The situation is I have a daily batch job running SSIS package using the SQL Server Agent. In the daily batch job, the program will generate many dynamic SQL statements and put all SQL statements in a temp table #updateSQLTable. Then, use a cursor to loop through the temp table #updateSQLTable and execute the SQL statments.

The following is the code segment in the cursor:

begin tran t1

--start generating dynamic SQL statements

--after generating dynamic SQL statements

declare @updateSQL nvarchar(4000)

FOR select updateSQL from #updateSQLTable where updateSQL is not null order by updateSQL
    OPEN mycursor
    FETCH NEXT FROM mycursor
    into @updateSQL

        BEGIN TRY
--execute the generated dynamic Insert/Update SQL
            EXEC sp_executeSQL @updateSQL

        END TRY

Nested transactions, rollback causes error "Transaction count after EXECUTE indicates that a COMMIT

I have a stored proc that does something that requires a transaction, and so I've put in the begin tran, commit, and rollback on error logic in it. That works as expected. But what if I now want to use the proc in the context of a larger transaction, such as calling it multiple times or doing other things as part of the same transaction? This seems impossible to achieve without either raising an error (throwing an exception) or having SQL Server do so on my behalf, rather unhelpfully.

For instance, I wanted to test a proc and reckoned a simple way to do so would be to start a transaction, execute the procedure, and roll back the transaction if the procedure didn't abort it:

begin transaction
exec someProc
if XACT_STATE() = 1 rollback

This works if someProc doesn't encounter any errors (so it begins and commits a transaction and the transaction count is 1 at entry and exit of the proc), but crashes and burns if the procedure rolls back the transaction, producing SQL error

Msg 266, Level 16, State 2, Procedure ExecuteImport, Line 0
Transaction count after EXECUTE indicates that a COMMIT or ROLLBACK TRANSACTION statement is missing. Previous count = 1, current count = 0.

I don't understand why that is. To my mind, it is perfectly normal that the transaction count can go from any level at entry to ze

error message on mismatch in transaction count when nesting stored procedures

Is this a purely informational message that I can ignore?  (i.e. are there no other effects from this message? is this really an "error"?):
Transaction count after EXECUTE indicates a mismatching number of BEGIN and COMMIT statements. Previous count = 1, current count = 0.

I'd like to do my rollback in a called generic error logging sproc if I haven't already handled the rollback, in order to be sure not to leave any open transactions; so in this case, the exit of the calling procedure will have a different count (zero) than whatever it began with.

error occurred while I tried to setup transaction replication with updateable subscription

when I tried to setup transactional replication with updatable subscriptions between two nodes, an error occurred.

The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "REPL1 " was unable to begin a distributed transaction. Changed database context to 'database1'.

OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "REPL1" returned message "No transaction is active.". (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)
May I know whether in order to setup transactional replication, do I need to run replication agents under domain users or local users?

thank you

Regarding "Cannot access disposed Object name:Transaction" DTC error in SQL server 2008

Hi all,

I have upgraded  my Sql server 2005 to Sql server 2008 in window 2003 server (SP 2 standard edition) . After upgrading  iam getting above mentioned MSDTC issue when try to make an distributed transaction with Sql server 2008 in my .Net application .

Note: No issues with SQL server 2005...

Please give me an solution

SQL Server Database Transaction

A transaction is a group of SQL commands executed together as a single component of work to be accomplished. If all of these commands succeed, then a transaction is committed - the changes to the data are made final. If any of the commands within a transaction fail, then the entire transaction is cancelled, or in SQL Server terms, the transaction will be rolled back.

Transactions are one of the things that keep your data safe, but they're not necessarily easy to understand. Here's some help:

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

Module: IsapiModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/ReportServer

Physical Path: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:

CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION DllName="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\\aspnet_isapi.dll"

Inserting personal error message in ValidationSummary

I am creating a web form that requires a lot of validation. I use many of the validation control in asp.net already like RequiredFieldValidator and CompareValidator.

My Problem: after my custom validation for the value entered return an error message, and I pressed enter key when the field is empty, my custom error message is overlapped by my ValidationSummary.

Setting my custom error to visible = false on button click also does not seem to work as it requires for me to enter the value first.

This made me think, is there a way to insert my custom validation inside the ValidationSummary as an error message like for other validation control?

Thanks in advance

Jscript error: Object does not support property or method

Hi, i have little knowledge on javascript but i need to use this code get from somewhere for a jquery to work.

I face this "Jscript runtime error: Object does not support property or method" whenever im trying to run this page.

In my experience, im get this error msg 9 out of 10 times i use javascript in my system.

Im using Microsoft Visual web developer 2008, i wonder if this is related to my problem, i not sure there is anything i need to add as reference or update anything.

But anyway, in short, i just couldn't use javascript code when using this development tool because of this sort of error.

Anyway, it happen that last time i tried use the same type of jquery code in another project and it seems to work well without an error.

But now when im try to use it again in this recent project i created, it come out with this error and i have no idea how to solve it even look through google and this forum.

It doesn't really seems like its the code problem itself although im not sure, because any javascript code just couldn't work.

So below is my code that i need to use.

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js" ></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src=&quo

Type or namespace error.

A couple of days ago I started getting an unusual behavior when compiling Website projects. I have referenced class libraries added to my bin folder that are also correctely referenced in using statements in my aspx.cs code behind. When I compile, I get the

The type or namespace name 'CommonClassLibrary' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

error message that would typically be received when the dll has not been added as a reference or added in a using statement.

I can eliminate the error by adding an

HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden

(VB Express website directed me to ASP.NET Web Services which in turn redirected me to this forum).

Hopefully someone can help me here......

I am using VIsual Web Developer and downloaded the small business application to use as a starting point to help my wife get a website up for her small business. When I load the application, I can F5 and it runs fine but as soon as I make any modification to the app and hit F5, I get the HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden when it tries to show the website.

I notice a pop up that occurs when I run that allows me to choose the link for my app and it displays correctly (I close the webpage that has the error on it).

This seems like a pain, is there a setting I'm missing - I would think that this should "just work".

What's up?????
