Getting the Error: 0xC001000E at : The connection "" is not found. SQL 2005

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 30, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
After doing some looking I noticed this was included in the SP3 for SQL 2005. We have had this service pack installed for a while now but we are still randomly getting this error. Some packages will run fine for a long time and then all of the sudden start giving this error even though the package was successful. Any ideas? Thanks, Donnie

SQL 2005: Error 15401 - Windows NT user or **group** not found

I have a fresh install of Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Standard Edition and SQL Server 2005 x64 on top of that, with Service Pack 3. This server, SERV, is in DOMAINA which trusts (one-way) DOMAINB.

When I try to create a login for a group in my domain, I get the following error:
Msg 15401, Level 11, State 1, Procedure sp_grantlogin, Line 49
Windows NT user or group 'DOMAINA\groupname' not found. Check the name again.

I get the same error whether using "create login [domaina\groupname] from widnows", "sp_grantlogin [domaina\groupname]" or Manangement Studio.
This happens ONLY for groups , both in DOMAINA and DOMAINB domains. I can add individual users from both A and B and local computer. For local computer groups: I can add default Windows groups (like Users, Guests, Event Log Readers) by [BUILTIN\Event Log Readers], etc. but not by SERV\Event Log Readers; for custom created group MyLocal it's the other way around: I can via SERV\MyLocal but not via BUILTIN\MyLocal.

If I add a domain group from either DOMAINA or DOMAINB to a local group, whether my own or builtin, I can login to SQL Server remotely using creditentials of a user who belongs to that group (user DOMAINB\ux belongs to DOMAINB\group and DOMAINB\group to SERV\MyLocal). After sp_grantlogin [serv\mylocal] of cours

SQL 2005 open connection timeout error

We have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.4207.00 (X64)  Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows server 2003 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2) .

Periodically (~ once per 15 min) some db-clients have error messages when open connection (over SQL Native Client ) like:

Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

All timeouts more or equal 15 sec. Less then 15 sec is not acceptable by business rules. Performance counters (cpu,memory,disk etc.) on server does not show bottleneck. Only one sql counter - logins/sec show trouble. When problem exists then this counter = 0. Also dramatically decrease many other counters - sql batch requests/sec, transactions/sec, cpu load and some ones. SQL Server "sleep" few seconds (4 - 5) and then accessible again.

Error loading dtsx: The connection is not found.

We have several SSIS packages that have been running fine.  The last time they changed were on 01/30/2009.

We're using package configurations pointing to a SQL server table (sql 2005).  The packages run from one clustered computer, which has a default instance of sql server enterprice on 64-bit machine, the connection is to another clustered box, which has a named instance of sql server.  All of a sudden we started getting "Error loading dtsx: The connection is not found. This error is thrown by Connections collection when the specific connection element is not found."
The server team swears nothing has changed.  I'm at a loss.  When I open the package on the server in BIDS, still get same error.  I keep having to re-add the connection and save.  If I re-open it gives the same errors all over again.  All our SSIS packages are stored on the file system, protection-level is "don't save sensitive".

Table entry for this connection is:  ConfiguredValue = "Data Source=HQESQL4\HQESQL4;Initial Catalog=ETL temp rep;Provider=SQLNCLI.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Auto Translate=False;", PackagePath = "\Package.Connections[ETL temp rep 4 Database].Properties[ConnectionString]"

I've got a package which reads a text file into a table and updates another.  I set up configurations so that I could import it into the SSIS store on both my dev and live servers.  Now, I'm getting this error.  I tried removing the configs and am still getting it.

I've been through each step and everything looks okay.  Does anyone have any idea (a) what's wrong, (b) how to localise the error or (c) get any additional information?  Or do I just have to recreate the package from scratch?

SQL Server 2005 Express ODBC connection error with Windows Vista Business

I have a SQL Server 2005 Express Edition installed on a Windows Server 2003 domain machine. When I do a connection with a client running Windows XP through the SQL 2008 ODBC driver I have no problem.  The problem is when I try to establish a connection using a client running Windows Vista Business Edition which is a member of the domain. Please help me to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance

"No description found" when adding new connection to package connections collection (2005)

Hi -- This is driving me bananas.  I've got some VB.NET 2005 code that tries to create a new SSIS package programmatically.  Problem is, the code is failing when a connection (of any type) is added to package connections collection.  Here's a code excerpt:

Private connMgr As ConnectionManager

  Public Function AddConnection(ByVal pkg As Package, ByVal connType As String) As ConnectionManager
    <strong>connMgr = pkg.Connections.Add(connType)</strong>
    Return connMgr
  End Function

If I try to pass in the package I'm building with, for example, "OLEDB" as the connection type, the .Add method raises this error:

    Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DtsRuntimeException: {"No description found"}
    Data: {System.Collecti

Handling 404 page not found with Error page

urlrouting - page not found error

I have a dynamic data site setup and running locally fine from vs 2008.

When i deploy to a remote windows 2003 server (IIS6), all the pages also work ok apart from one page/table.  I can access it's list page,  but the edit and insert pages throw 404 errors.

I'm thinking it's a url routing/hosting issue as i've copied back the database from the remote server and it all works fine on my local machine.

Is there anything i can do to debug this behaviour?

Below is my register routes entry from the global.asax

Any suggestions greatly appreciated as, i've been stuck on this for days :(

public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes)
    MetaModel model = new MetaModel();
    model.FieldTemplateFactory = new AdvancedFieldTemplateFactory();

    model.RegisterContext(typeof(Sponsorship.Data.Entities), new ContextConfiguration() { ScaffoldAllTables = false });
    model.DynamicDataFolderVirtualPath = "~/admin/DynamicData";

    routes.Add(new DynamicDataRoute("admin/{table}/{action}.aspx")
        Constraints = new RouteValueDictionary(new { action = "List|Details|Edit|Insert" }),

connection to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL server express 2005 to function properly.

I dont have the SQL EXPRESS installed instead I have SQL Standard Edition.

 I have two SQL Server instances installed.

 1- UserLT (this is sql 2000)
2- UserLT\SQL2005 (this is SQL 2005 named instance)

But when i try to add a database to my VS website project I get the following error:

Connection to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL server express 2005 to function properly. please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=4925

I went in Tools>Opetions>DataBase tools>Data Connection>Sql Server Instance Name (blank for default)

and changed the "SQLEXPRESS" to "USERLT\SQL2005".

But I still get the same error message. Any ideas how i can resolve this issue?

Error in Replication: connection was chosen as the victim in a deadlock

I'm using a merge replication with SQL 2008 at server and SQL Express 2008 on subscribers. We are using around 100 subscribers. I'm getting the following error once two subscribers replicate at the same time. The final number of transaction uploaded to the server is always arong 100 and a similar number in the downloads, so the amount of transaction is not an issue. I'he been playing with the merge profile with no luck. The merge process could not replicate one or more INSERT statements to the 'Publisher'. A stored procedure failed to execute. This is getting to a critical point where transactions are not being uploaded to the server.  Additonally, there are a lot of blocks between the subscribers, and they are mainly associated with table MSmerge_partition_groups
