I am trying to receive and delete multiple FTP files from a remote FTP server using Script task Below is the code   Dim FTPConnMgr As ConnectionManager FTPConnMgr = Dts.Connections("FTP Connection Manager") Dim FTPClientConn As FtpClientConnection = New FtpClientConnection(FTPConnMgr.AcquireConnection(Nothing)) Dim FileTimeStampNew As String = "20100913021807" Dim remoteFileNames(0) As String remoteFileNames(0) = Dts.Variables("FtpRemoteDirectory").Value & "*" & FileTimeStampNew & ".*" 'Below hardcoded FileName works good. But the problem is there are lots of file in the FTP folder that I dont want to receive 'remoteFileNames(0) = Dts.Variables("FtpRemoteDirectory").Value & "Company_alpha_Full_20100913021807.xml" Dim localPath As String = Dts.Variables("FtpLocalDirectory").Value FTPClientConn.Connect() FTPClientConn.ReceiveFiles(remoteFileNames, localPath, False, False) FTPClientConn.Close() Dts.TaskResult = ScriptResults.Success End Sub End Class If i specifically mention the RemotefileNames this works fine but, when I say *.* it executes succefully but doesn't receives the file. Please advice how to receive multiple file based on a variable BR, AWM

SSIS Script task that FTP's files

I could not find the exact details on how to create a SSIS script that would ftp files on these forums, so I am adding my code to help save time for anyone else that might be wanting to do something similar.  Here is the VB code for my script task to FTP files (hope this helps someone):

' Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Script Task

' Write scripts using Microsoft Visual Basic

' The ScriptMain class is the entry point of the Script Task.

Imports System

Imports System.Data

Imports System.Math

Imports Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime

Public Class ScriptMain

Public Sub Main()

'Create the connection to the ftp server

SSIS 2005 - Multiple data flows from a Script task

I have a variable that the user sets to an excel file. Because the file can be of a different version of Excel, I'm testing the version first in a script task. Depending upon the version I then want to call a specific DataFlowTask and also want to set the connection Manager accordingly for that DataFlow task.

i.e. if XLS extension then use the DataFlowTask with the Excel OLEDB Provider setting the connection to the variable passed.

if XLSX extension then use the DataFlowTask that uses the Office OLDEDB Provider with the Extension of Excel 12.0 again using the Variable passed as the connection setting.

An example on how to achieve this would be good.

Which task would use to copy, move or delete files in SSIS

can any one help me for this question any link of examples for the same highly appreciable

dynamically adding sql server columns based on number of files in fileuploader

I want to create a new table to sql database at runtime.  The column names would be "Name", "Date", "Event".  I would also like to have one more column name "Image" but the problem is that since the amount of images will vary, I want the application to count the amount of files in the Multiple fileuploader and then add a image column to the table for the respected amount of files.

For example if i am uploading 3 files in the multiple fileuploader, the names should be "Name", "Date", "Event", "Image1", "image2", Image3"

I also would like that table name to be name dynamically from the textbox Name when the user enters the information.

I have the following code to make a new table, but I dont know how to name the fields at runtime like previously asked please help!!!

Dim objConn As New SqlConnection("Server=<servername>;uid=<userid>;pwd=<password>;database=master")

Code Name WinFS: Revolutionary File Storage System Lets Users Search and Manage Files Based on Conte

One of the monumental problems organizations face today is aggregating information that's stored in disparate formats. Knowledge workers have long wanted to be able to search for content independent of format. The next version of the Windows operating system, code-named "Longhorn," boasts a new storage subsystem that makes that task easier. That subsystem, code-named "WinFS," allows the user to perform searches based on the metadata of the stored item, regardless of what type of file it is or which application created it. This article covers the basic architecture of WinFS and explains how to use the WinFS managed API.

Windows Forms: Give Your .NET-based Application a Fast and Responsive UI with Multiple Threads

If your application performs any non-UI processing on the thread that controls the user interface, it may make the app seem slow and sluggish, frustrating users. But writing multithreaded apps for Windows has long been restricted to C++ developers. Now with the .NET Framework, you can take advantage of multiple threads in C# to control the flow of instructions in your programs and isolate the UI thread for a fast and snappy user interface. This article shows you how. Also, it discusses the pitfalls of multiple threads and presents a framework for safe concurrent thread execution.

Execute SSIS Package PART based on Some Condition

Hello, Is it possible to execute part of the Package based some condition? (Like If var1 = true, then execute this block). If Yes, what control flow I should use. Please advse. I will have a Package Variable and if that variable is True then some part should execute. REst all should execute every time the package is called. Like if I will have "2 Sequence Container" in my control flow, the first one should execute every time, but 2nd one only if the variable value = True. Thanks, Prabhat

Data flow task with multiple destinations randomly hangs

I have a package whose control flow consisting of a single data flow task with multiple destinations continues to hang at random locations.  The data flow task is fairly simple: - One OLE DB source (one query of selecting about 10 fields from one table) - 9 lookups that serve basically as left joins to capture which data "drops off" (does a row redirect on on lookup errors to an "error flow") - Two destinations: one the captures all the data that doesn't drop off from the lookups, and another to capture the data that does drop off; these write to two tables unrelated to each other, and unrelated to any of the tables I'm reading from I have tried the following: - Changed one or both destinations from OLE DB to flat file -- still randomly hangs - Removed both destinations altogether -- this always suceeds.   - Removed destination A and leave destination B -- this always succeeds - Removed destination B and leave destination A -- this always succeeds I took great care in making sure I get no warnings when the package runs, even resolving the unneeded column warnings, and the duplicate keys on all my lookups, but it still hangs. However, once I give up and stop the package, the following error is thrown (among others that appear to be a byproduct of the root issue): Error: 0xC02020C4 at Data Flow Task, OLE_SRC AP12 [1]: The attempt to

run a bunch of sql script files using a stored procedure (without using xp_cmdshell)

Is this possible? Let me elaborate. I need to automate the execution of a bunch of sql script files (*.sql) placed by my users in a certain folder. One way I can do this is by using some kind of a script to loop thru the files in that folder and for each *.sql file found, launch a 'sqlcmd' command to execute the current script file using the -i option, ie, sqlcmd -S <server> -i <the current sql file in the loop> I tried doing this, but ran into a liitle bit of difficulty with the particular scripting language (JAVA). I was going to research this a bit more, but I also wanted to consider something that doesn't involve another script. So I was thinking about doing this using a stored procedure, but then I was wondering, how would I run a sql script file from sql server? The only way I can think of is still using sqlcmd, but then to use that within a stored procedure, I would need to turn on xp_cmdshell. Although I can do that, that invloves getting other people involved so I was wondering if there is way to do this without turning on xp_cmdshell.

Multiple XML files into SQL SERVER Express 2005

Hello. I am familiar with classic ASP and use this with MS SQL SERVER EXPRESS. I have an SQL table and want to import multiple XML files into this on a daily basis. I currently have 3 files, transferdata.vbs which loops through the XML files. FAQschema.xml which maps XML to the SQL database and test.xml shows the xml in the test file. If I run transferdata.vbs I get the following error "Error opening the data file" line 33 char 3. Microsoft Bulkload for SQL Server". My SQL table is called EnqOrd id (int), Debitor (varchar), PurchaseDate (varchar)     transferdata.vbs set objBL = CreateObject("SQLXMLBulkLoad.SQLXMLBulkLoad") objBL.ConnectionString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB; Data Source=XXXXXX\XXXXX; Initial Catalog=XXXX; User ID=XXXXX; Password=XXXXXX" objBL.ErrorLogFile = "E:\fuelsql\Teccom\error.log" ' Here is the path to your XML files Const path = "E:\fuelsql\Teccom\XML\" Dim Text, Title, oFile Dim fso, oFolder, oFiles, wsh ' Object variables Text = "Folder " Title = "XML Files" Set wsh = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") ' Create FileSystemObject object to access the file system. Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") ' Get Folder object. Set oFolder = fso.GetFolder(wsh.ExpandEnvironmentStrings(path)) ' Get All Files Set oFiles = oFolder.
