Custom binding and interoperability.

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 30, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF

Hi everyone, I have to build a wcf client to communicate with a JAVA web service. The configuration of that web service is not standard and I'm trying to use a custom binding. I have to generate a SOAP message with a Binary Security Token section and a username section in the SOAP header. I have to sign the username token with my X509 certificate and add the digest to the message. I must sign the body too and again add the digest to the message. The service is under an https transport (https://...). Below I attach a correct example of a message that I have to produce: <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">     <soap:Header>         <wsse:Security xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd"                        soap:mustUnderstand="1">             <wsse:BinarySecurityToken                     xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd"        &

Data Binding: Give Your Everyday Custom Collections a Design-Time Makeover

In this article, Paul Ballard shows how you can provide data binding support for your custom collections to enable sorting, searching, and editing in as simple a manner as possible. In addition, he shows how to make all of these features available in the Windows and Web Forms Designers, just like an ADO.NET DataSet.

Custom markup extension or custom binding class?

Hey experts! I'm doing a project where I've encountered an issue I'd love some feedback on. I've created a custom Markup Extension called MyMarkupExtension, with two properties.  I can use it like below: <cc:DialogBorder Title="{local:MyMarkupExtension MyProperty='property value goes here', AnotherProperty='and another value here'}"> It works, and in 99% of the cases, it fits my needs perfectly.  In 1% of the cases, the values of MyProperty and AnotherProperty can not be set at design time, so I'd need some binding there. <cc:DialogBorder Title="{local:MyMarkupExtension MyProperty={Binding Path='SomePropertyOfTheViewModel'}, AnotherProperty='and another value here'}"> This presents my two questions (yes I did make only one post for 2 questions, bad karma...): 1. the binding inside my markup is not legal, after all, a binding can only be set on a DependencyProperty.  Is there any workaround which I could use for this problem at hand? In case there isnt... 2. I'm thinking about dropping the markup extension and creating a custom binding instead.  For this, I'd have to inherit from bindingbase, and so far I've read online that's one ____ of a nightmare.  Does anyone have some good code / examples on where to start? "The improbable we do, the impossible just takes

Binding to a custom App.Config file in dotnet 4.0

Hi, I need to resolve Mixed Mode assembly issue using below text in configuration file. <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration> <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true"> <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.0"/> </startup> </configuration> But, it seems to be work only in APP.CONFIG file. and does not work in custom configurationfile (custom.config).   I gone through the below article: http://weblogs.asp.net/israelio/archive/2005/01/10/349825.aspx still it does not work seems to be work for resolve Mixed mode assemly issue. What is the correct error handling in custom model binding?

Hello,I am working on a Custom Model Binder where a certain error can occur. When this happens it returns null and a error is added to the ModelState. The problem is that in some projects I am using Fluent Validation and the errors messages I am adding through FV are not taking effect. The message added by the Model Binder always prevails.Should the Model Binder add error messages or just bind the field and return null if some problem happened? What would be the correct implementation for this? Thanks,Miguel

silverlight + WCF Service + Dynamic proxy(custom binding) + basic authentication on iis

hi all, I am having an issue with how to get windows identity in silverlight project. Below is my scenario: the silverlight application need to get data from server via WCF service, i used the way that built dynamic proxy at runtime and aslo used custombinding in this case. Now my application need to deploy on iis and chosen "basic authentication" as a authentication mode. Thus i have chosen authentication mode in WCF was " <security authenticationMode="UserNameOverTransport">". At the client side where kind of project is silverlight that i need have to dynamic proxy with custombinding. My question is: In basic authentication how can i get windows identity to set to chanelfactory.Credentials: _channelFactory = new ChannelFactory<TWebService>(this._binding, new EndpointAddress(_endpointAddress));            _channelFactory.Credentials.UserName = new UserNamePasswordClientCredential();            _channelFactory.Credentials.UserName.UserName = "username";            _channelFactory.Credentials.UserName.Password = "password"; actually, i do not want to use Windows a

Problem binding business objects to custom user control properties

I have created a user control (supplierPicker) intended to allows a supplier database to be searched and a supplier selected. I want to be able to use this control in a number of other user controls, by binding the suppplierID property of the supplierPicker to a supplierID property in a business object, which is set as the datacontext of the parent user control. When I do this, and there is a supplierID specified in the business ofbject, the binding sets the supplierID in the supplierPicker control and it shows the correct supplier name in the textbox. However when the supplierID DependencyProperty is changed from within the supplierPicker the newly selected supplier name is shown in the TextBox, but the SupplierID does not propogate back to the business object. Other controls on the parent form work fine, so the binding to the business object seems to be ok. Any pointers as to what I'm doing wrong here would be grately appreciated.  This one has been driving me nuts for days! Snipped code for the supplier picker:         public partial class SupplierPicker : UserControl, INotifyPropertyChanged     {         public static DependencyProperty SupplierIDProperty;         public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChan

Hi, I'd like to bind a property "myProperty" of type "MyType" in the text property of TextBlock : <TextBlock Text="{Binding myProperty, Mode=OneWay}" And I overrided the ctype operator to have conversion from "MyType" to String: Public Overloads Shared Narrowing Operator CType(ByVal v As MyType) As String ...................... End Operator But it seems not work! I get the ToString of "MyType" in result but not the return of CType operator. Is it normal ? Why ?   Thanks for your help.

Binding to an observable collection in a custom WPF control

Hi everyone,

I'll first explain a bit what I'm doing so that the code paste will make a bit more sense. I'm creating a circular menu control for Microsoft Surface (this question is far from Surface specific though, but otherwise this type of control wouldn't make sense :) ), it has some 'pieces' which are all buttons. I've created a 'Menu' control which contains the menu items, I made a custom control for these items (so I could add them to the menu within XAML), and I made a Button control which actually does the drawing of the path etc. I've done this in this specific way because the angle of the button's path will depend on the number of pieces within the menu. Anyway the above all works fine and dandy and I'm happy with the result. However now I'm trying to get all of this to work.

What I want to do is to use MVVM in my application and bind the MenuItems to a command in my ViewModel. So I have an AdminToolbox which is a view containing the menu and there's an AdminToolboxViewModel which is the ViewModel with the command and the items that I'd need to bind to my menu to create the menu items.

Some code pastes:

AdminToolbox.XAML:

binding with custom display

I'm new to WPF

I'm binding a list-view to a list of a class having 2 properties firstName and lastName

I know that inside the gridViewColumn can put a textblock and set the Text={Binding path=firstName} or Text={Binding path=lastName}

however I want to display both the firstName and lastName concatenated

are there custom paths?

Help with Custom Binding

I have an existing wsHttp binding that I have to convert to a custom binding solely for the purpose of setting the clockSkew. I'm using client and server certificates. I have been trying unsuccessfully for a couple of days to convert this binding. Any help would be very much appreciated. Here is my current custom binding:
