I have a WPF desktop application. We use mapi32.dll to show a new outlook mail window to allow user to send an email. After user sends email / just closes the new mail window without sending email, relative path starts pointing to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12. I have office 2007 installed.  How can I restore this relative path ?   Thanks & Regards, Nadeem Ullah

Central Admin Console Fails to Start

I recently uninstalled Sharepoint 3 and reinstalled on WHS (Server 2003). After the second installation the Team Page displayed but I could not get the Central Admin console to come up in the browser to configure the system. Just getting a "Cannot display the webpage" message. The URL is http://servername:32184 which is the same as it was for the first installation where it worked fine. Any ideas of what the issue might be?Thanks.Jerry

Calling a Web Service Method Asynchronously does not work in Console Application

I have a web service that has a CreateReport method that generates a report based on the specified criteria. When I call this method Synchronously using a Windows Application or Console Application, the call works fine and the report is created. When I call this method ASynchronously (CreateReportASync) using Windows Application the report is created. When I call this method ASynchronously (CreateReportASync) using Console Application the web service does not even get the call.  I am using VS2005 and .Net Framework 2.0.  So the proxy is automatically created with the Async methods.  I am not really interested the result of the method call, so I do not add a Callback Delegate.

The WCF serialization has a bad performance on 64Bit computer as 64Bit application ?

   My application has a bad performance while running on the 64bit computer as 64bit application. And I found the reason is that the WCF serialization of contract took most of the time.  The serialization and de-serialization's performance is worse than running as 32bit application on the 64bit computer.

   I wrote a demo to record the consuming time of serialization and de-serialization of contract. The application running as 64Bit took about twice time than running as 32Bit application. I don't know why the performance of WCF serialization of contract is so much different between 32Bit  application and 64bit application. Has anyone encountered this issue?

   the part of demo code:

 public static void Read(DataContractSerializer serializera, MemoryStream stream,string description,int time)
    {
      stream.Flush();
      stream.Position = 0;
      Stopwatch watch;
      using (XmlDictionaryReader reader =
         XmlDictionaryReader.CreateTextReader(stream, XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas.Max))
      {
        watch = Stopwatch.StartNew();

Running a WPF application from a console app and return status/console output from the wpf

I am trying to run a WPF application from a console application (e.g. a .bat file) but need to be able to receive console and error output from the WPF application.

I have console.writeline() and console.error.writeline commands in the WPF application but these are not received by the console application.

I would also like to receive a status value from the WPF on completion.

Is this possible?

If so could you give me a simple example using VB?

A possible bug with redirecting RedirectStandardInput to console application from windows form (Win7

More info can be found on this post:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/csharpgeneral/thread/23527505-236f-4bba-99ae-f8bece281d44

Basically when I attempt to redirect the standard input of a console application from windows form the console application crashes immediately.

When I use the exact same code from a console application everything works fine (this is what leads me to believe it might be a bug).

Here's the shortest code you need to reproduce the problem:

Process myProcess = new
 Process();
myProcess.StartInfo.FileName = @"cmd.exe"
;
myProcess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false
;
myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = true
;
myProcess.Start();

Please note the following:

1. When I change "cmd.exe" to "sort.exe" it works find on both console and windows form applications.

2. When compiling to windows application for 64 bit platform (or AnyCPU) the "myProcess.MainModule" throws an exception: {"Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or

WriteProcessMemory request was completed"}

3. Whe

Hi

If I create a dataset in Application_Start - is that dataset available for the length of  application run time? if so how do I access it?

or do I have to store it in an application session (Application["SessionName"])

.NET application crashes when computer system wakes up from sleep mode.

Need help in understanding this error message generated from mscorlib failing when using threading.  I know the problem is not the code written by me, as the application works fine until the computer system is left idle, say for 30mins and allowed to go into sleep mode then the error manifests itself, about a minute later when the computer wakes from sleep mode, the application will perform its tasks and then this error is generated.

This could be a problem with System.Net.NetworkInformation.NetworkChange.AddressChangeListener.AddressChangedCallback

Any information given about the error described below is greatly appreciated, and information on how to prevent such errors even more greatly appreciated, or traps and handles it successfully.

Kind Regards,

Shelvin.

Details of the error given below:--

{System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal}

"The Undo operation encountered a context that is different from what was applied in the corresponding Set operation. The possible cause is that a context was Set on the thread and not reverted(undone)."

MVC application won't start: code -2147023895

I started trying to refactor my code, and made some changes to the repositories of my application. The solution still builds successfully, but when I try to run it in debug mode, the app hangs for a time, then shuts down without starting completely. The error message I get is:

The program '[3256] WebDev.WebServer40.EXE: Managed (v4.0.30319)' has exited with code -2147023895 (0x800703e9).

Since I'm not getting an exception, and Googling the error didn't yield any useful results, I'm stuck at the moment. The exit code looks somewhat like the min value for an integer, but that doesn't really mean anything to me in this context.
