### Display homepage node along with child nodes

If the first Sitemap node is your homepage/default and all other nodes are supposed to be children / grandchildren of the first sitemap node in a web.sitemap, how do I set up my web.sitemap to enable me to display my cssFriendlyMenu with the homepage node along with the nodes that are 1 level down from it at the same time as in :

...or is it not possible to have the first sitemap node displayed along with the nodes that are 1 level down from it?  Do I need to have a different starting node rather than my homepage node?

### Sharepoint list group by column data ,display in webcontrol like panel or label

I  have a sharepoint list[Managers] with groupby sector column. like below

1)Sector1
a)Dep1
b)Dep2

2)Sector2
a)Dep3

3)Sector3
a)Dep4
b)Dep4
c)Dep4

Each Sector group by column data i want to display in label or panel control.

How to do that ? how to write the logic?

### Display last inserted column value in the Form and concurrent updates

1) I have a ORDER form which is a usercontrol(webpart in sharepoint)

the first field is a autogenerated column given as ORD01,ORD02,ORD03...

for this i have a column in the list which stores these values into list after user submits data.

Now i want to show last inserted ORDER + 1 in the first field .

i.e., when user opens this ORDER page it should show the value.

2) the second case would when user submits data simultanoeusly.

Can anyone suggest a solution for this

### wss2.0 update/delete/hide lookup column that does not display any values

Hi All,

I have a document library that contains a Category column that is a lookup field. This is a default column that is a required field when uploading documents to the document library. The Category column is empty and I am unable to amend, hide, make it not required or delete it.

I have gone to Modify settings and columns -> clicked on the Category field to edit, but there is no option to amend the content or delete it. I am only able to amend the Column name and Description.

Since then, I have amended the column name to eg. Category1 and created a new Category field as a lookup and linked it to the correct list.

The problem I am facing now, is that I cannot hide, delete or make the Category1 (old Category) field NOT required. Either I would like to update the original field to display the correct values or alternately hide, delete or make the column not required.

I am using nested listviews to display Sales and Sales details.

### InfoPath and Access - two parent tables and one child table

Hi there,

I'm trying to link an InfoPath form to an Access database, I want to connect the InfoPath form to 3 tables in the Access database but InfoPath will only recognise parent-child relationships in a series (e.g. the "Company" table is the parent to the "Customer" table, which is again parent to the "Orders" table)

I need to have two parent tables and one child table, though (e.g. "Customer" is parent to "Orders", but "Inventory_Item" is also parent to "Orders"). Is there any way to establish this in InfoPath? I'm using Windows XP, InfoPath 2007 and Access 2007.

### SQLCE table column DefaultValues don't show up in XSD Dataset designer

Using Visual Studio 2008 with SQL CE 3.5, I notice that default values in the creation scripts for the database tables are not reflected in the dataset designer XSD file.ÃÂ  For example, the following SQL script creates the non-nullable table column names "Content" with a default value of 'Image':ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ "Content" nchar(20) NOT NULL DEFAULT 'Image',But in the column properties of the dataset designer (XSD) panel, this column correctly shows up as non-nullable, but with a DBnull default value as follows: ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Name: ContentÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Allow DBnull: FalseÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ DefaultValue: <DBnull>Am I missing something somewhere, or is this a VS bug?ÃÂ  Also, how do I get the XSD file to regenerate after schema changes in the database?ÃÂ  Sqlmetal doesn't do it.Thanks,ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ -BGood

### How to perform math on a column of data in SQL database and display it in my VB app

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, cos it's SQL and VB2010 So I have my sqlserver database 3.5 compact editon called "Dive Club Records" and in it are stored columns of dive trip information and I want tthe user to be able run a query from my VB2010 application to sum a divers total dive hours and display it on the form, eg: MemberID, FirstName, LastName, DiveTime by the way divetime is a real number recorded as 15.5, 20.5, 5.0 etc What is the easiest way to do this? Would prefere to do it from within VB2010 code if possible or make a query from the datagrid on my form using query designer. thanks for any suggestions from you all, hope you can keep them simple for me :)   regards   paul   paul

### C#: How to add a row to a child table with a DataSet backing?

On the back end I am using XML files, xsd schemas a DataSet(dsThingPrograms) and DataTables. I have a parent ->child table relationship defined through the DataSet designer as such:   things[RFID(pkey), name] programs[ID(pkey/autogen), name, path, thing_RFID(FK references things->RFID)]   In my code I have:   dsThingPrograms.things.AddthingsRow("lala" , "00ffe4" ); dsThingPrograms.things.WriteXml("path\to\things.xml" , System.Data.XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema);   which works fine. However the problem comes when I try to add a row to the Programs table. When I do:   dsThingPrograms.programs.AddprogramsRow("someprog" , "some\path" , <???>);   VS wants me to add a "dsThingPrograms.thingsRow parentthingsRowByFK_things_programs" where the <???> is. I've tried a bunch of things but I could not satisfy that requirement and can't even get the code to compile. What is supposed to go in there to satisfy the FK property?

### How to recover from Derived Column Transformation Editor corrupting table metadata?

Hi there, In attempting to use the DCTE to replace the value in a field with a trimmed version (SSN = trim(SSN)), it seems that my meta-data has become corrupted by the Derived Column drop-down list. As a result, #1: I no longer see my incoming SSN field in the "columns" tree, and any reference to it is deemed "invalid", even though it's value does make it out of the Data Transformation process. How can I get back the reference to this field without redoing this entire task? And, #2: in the process, DCTE created new columns with "SSN" prefixed by the task name, such as "trim character fields.SSN". How can I delete these? It seems that one slip of the mouse in this form can lead to irreversible corruption of the meta-data, which the "debugger" then references and uses to "invalidate" subsequent work. I have tried everything I can think of to refresh this, including using the "Advanced Editor" and reloading the entire package. Any ideas? Thanks, Karl Kaiser

### Best way to display data of a single column from a Sharepoint Custom List

I'm trying to create pages that will automatically populate with data pulled from a sharepoint list (like title, department, contact info, etc.).   I'm using publishing pages. What would be the easiest way to do this, and how would I specify which data to pull from the list? For example, the page would be set up like this: [Title:biology] [Department:biology] [Contact Info:biology]   and when the page loads, it would look like this: Biology Lab Biology Department 123-456-7890   I want it to just pull the data -- I don't want a list view or anything like that.  I need this page to look pretty, and I need the each column's data to show up in a very specific place. How could I make pages that would do that?
