Hi guys, as I'm not a .Net developer, I'm struggling with some simple problems using the language.   I'm trying to insert some javascript functionality, inside my page. What I'm trying to do below...   <script language=javascript> function ControlBackupFields(hasBackup) { if (hasBackup.checked = true) { document.aspnetForm.frequencyValue.enabled = true; document.aspnetForm.frequencyUnitList.enabled = true; } else { document.aspnetForm.frequencyValue.enabled = false; document.aspnetForm.frequencyUnitList.enabled = false; } } </script> <asp:datagrid id="dgData" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" PageSize="20" Width="100%" CssClass="grid" CellPadding="1"> <ItemStyle Height="20px" CssClass="tabletext2" VerticalAlign="Top"></ItemStyle> <HeaderStyle Height="20px" CssClass="tableheading2"></HeaderStyle> <Columns> <asp:TemplateColumn> <ItemTemplate> <asp:TextBox id="volumeID" Runat="server" Visible="false" /> <asp:Label id="volumeName" Runat="server" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateColumn> <asp

Javascript doesn't work on IE Mobile 6.12 ?

Hi, I wrote a simple asp.net page with few controls and a function in Javascript that make input validation. The javascript function is called on button click event. I use Windows Mobile 6 Classic emulator, and the javascript doesn't work at all.  I saw few posts on this forum saying that IE mobile works just with jscript and doesn't work with javascript. Is it correct ? Is that mean I have to change my javascript code to jscript code ? I always thought they are the same. Is there newer versions of ie mobile that works with javascript ? Thsnks, David

javascript script works with alert() and does not fully work without it

Hello,

Im facing the following problem i have a gridview that i insert an OnClick event to each row in order to be able to click on a row and selecting that row (change the color of the selected row e.tc) my javascript works fine when i have an alert when i remove the alert

then i see the color of the row changing as i click it but then when i move the mouse the color changes back to normal i still get the id of the row since i have a textbox where i put the id content of the e.row.cell[0] value .

I searched the web and i found out that its something to do with ajax and asychronous calls here is the code if the alert is enabled everything works fine this function is called from .c#

protected void GrdEntal_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
        {
            if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
            {
                e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseover","this.originalstyle=this.style.backgroundColor;this.style.backgroundColor='#FF9955'");
                e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseout","this.style.backgroundColor=this.originalstyle;");

                e.Row.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javascript:getID('" + e.Row.Cells[0].Text + "', '" + e.Row.ClientID + "', '

input button javascript does not work

Hi All,

I'm inserting panels within a table, each panel has an increment and decrement input button that uses javascript to update a textbox value within the panel.

The buttons stopped working when I adjusted the table to have multiple columns.

Here's the code:

        private void OrderDriver()
        {
            //Get vendor items
            MyItemList = new List<Item>();
            MyItemList = Populate();
            //Display vendor items
            Table tbl = new Table();
            Page.Form.Controls.Add(tbl);
            int rowcount = getrowcount(MyItemList.Count);
            int colcount = 2;
            for (int i = 0; i < rowcount; i++)
            {

                TableRow row = new TableRow();

                for (int j = 0; j < colcount; j++)
                {

                    TableCell cell = new TableCell();

                    Panel Pnl = new Panel();
                    Pnl.ID = "Pnl" + i.ToString();
                    Pnl.Visible = true;
                    Pnl.BorderWidth = 4;
                    Pnl.BackColor = System.Drawing.ColorTranslator.FromHtml("#CC3333");
                    Pnl.Width = 500;

                    TextBox txtbx = new TextBox();
                    txtbx.ID = "txt" + i.ToString

ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript Snippet Support (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

This post covers another useful improvement in VS 2010 - HTML/ASP.NET/JavaScript snippet support. Snippets allow you to be more productive within source view by allowing you to create chunks of code and markup that you can quickly apply and use in your application with a minimum of character typing.

Visual Studio has supported the concept of "snippets" for VB and C# in previous releases - but not for HTML, ASP.NET markup and JavaScript. With VS 2010 we now support snippets for these content types as well.

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.

RadioButton inside GridView, How to get it work as normal

Did you tried before to drag a RadioButton control inside a Gridivew templatefield, and then you attempt to select these RadioButtons , you will notice that the behavior of RadioButton control will be changed and it will work just like the behavior of checkbox control! the user will be able to select more than one radiobutton in the grid!

Ajax Enabled Gridview using JavaScript in ASP.NET

Before explaining the article, I would like to thank all readers who read my article and voted for it. Your appreciation for my article gives me strength to write more good articles. Hope in future I will get your valuable comments and suggestions. Now I won't waste your time and come back to the topic. I have written this article on 'Ajax Enabled Gridview Using JavaScript in ASP.NET'. In this article, I will show you how to make a Gridview using a simple HTML table, JavaScript and XML HTTP for Ajax call without using any ASP.NET control.

GridView Javascript Click Row and Ajax

This article shows 2 common tasks with the ASP.NET GridView: Binding a List (generic) of objects as DataSource and on clicking a row, getting the values of the selected row by a javascript function. In the example a List with User-objects is displayed. On clicking a row containing the data of a User-object, the Id of the object is used to get the address of the user by an Ajax-call and display it in a details-field.

Combine, minify and compress JavaScript files to load ASP.NET pages faster

Websites are getting more interactive these days and most of this interactivity comes from JavaScript. People are using different JavaScript libraries and frameworks to make their websites more interactive and user friendly.

how to impose javascript event processing?

If I have some form control like textbox and I want the event handler to be located in the html instead of at the server side, how to do that? Of course I can copy paste javascript code in the aspx file. But is it possible to do that using some object oriented approach (ie programmatically in the code behind)?

Thanks
