Attachements on a modified form for Help Desk Tempate

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 29, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I changed some labels of the form of capture the Help Desk template, but the attachments functionality does not work as before to change it, it generates the following message when click on the OK button after you attach a file: Message: Object required, Line: 5797, Char: 3 Code: 0 URI: https: / / volaris01.temp.hostedexchange.mx/_layouts/1033/form.js? rev = df60y6YolDjUVbi91% 2BZw% 2FG% 3D% 3D. This only happens when I edit some labels or hide some fields from the SharePoint Designer, someone show me if I need any patch, or maybe I doing something wrong with this template? Thank you all.

Info Path form when modified by using UTF-8 encoding having issues with existing 'iso-8859-1' char

Hi,

I am modifying the infio path form 2007 from my state machine workflow to constantly update the status fields in the request form.

below is the method i created for the same..

private void updateInfoPathRequestForm(string xpathNode, string nodeValue)
        {
            SPUserToken token = workflowProperties.Web.CurrentUser.UserToken;
            using (SPSite _site = new SPSite(workflowProperties.Site.ID, token))
            {
                _site.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
                using (SPWeb _web = _site.OpenWeb(workflowProperties.Web.ID))
                {
                    SPListItem item = _web.Lists[workflowProperties.List.ID].Items[workflowProperties.Item.UniqueId];

Attachements problems - also - How to add Office Communicator link to sharepoint Form ?

Hello

I have created an Infopath 2007 form and published it to Sharepoint 2007.

1. I can add "attachements" to the form, but the function can handle only one attachement per link. If i need to add 10 attachements, i have to create 10 attachement functions to the form.

Is it possible to create one attachement function in the Infopath form, that is able to save several attachements under it?

2. Is it possible to save .exe, .msi and similar files to the form as attachements? Sharepoint says security settings prohibit this.

3. How can i add a link that shows up as MS Office Communicator link in the form? For example: John Smith in Office communicator is now Online. I want his name and his status to show also in the Infopath form, when somebody opens it in Sharepoint.

Please help!

Creating a fill in form and also a help desk ticket form in Sharepoint.

I want to do two things in Sharepoint. First to create a fill in form where users would be able to fill in information & submit the form. It will get routed to me. Secondly, I want to create a help desk kind of thing in Sharepoint.

I know infopath could be used for creation of forms , but I don't have access to infopath. If anyone could send me a link to download it free, that would be great. otherwise, I would be interested in knowing other ways to accomplish same results.

Thanks in advance

Moving the Attachements next to a column in EditForm / Disp Form

Hi All,

    I have a requirement for moving the attachments that appear at the bottom of a list item in Disp Form / Edit Form in between Two Fields . Is it possible to do this without creating a custom form ? ( Any how custom forms in itself are not attachements friendly) .

 Any suggestions , thanks in advance.

 Scenario:

 Disp Form..

 Title : Value

 Category Column : Value

 Status Column: Value

 Comments Column : Value

 Attachements : xxxxx.doc

Disp Form:

 Title : Value

 Category Column : Value

 Attachements : xxxxx.doc

JQuery Validate plugin to validate a ASP.NET Form

The first time I used the JQuery Validate plugin, it did not work at all, see JQuery Validate odd behaviour with the ASP.NET Script Manager for reason, but perseverance and stubbornness prevailed and I finally created my first JQuery validated ASP.NET Forms contact form.

How to use getElementById to get the elements in a form

There are many ways of accessing form elements, of which the easiest is by using the cross-browser W3C DOM document.getElementById method. Before we learn more about this method, it would be useful to know something about the Document Object Model (DOM), the concept of HTML nodes or elements, and the concept of containers.

Each time you load an HTML page, the web browser generates an internal representation of the page in the form of an inverted tree structure. Let us look at a simple form. We will use this form later to demonstrate the use of the getElementById method.

form feild hints are not displaying for textboxses inside create user wizard?

Hi,

I'm using following JS code to display input hint box besides the textbox whenever that asp.net textbox receives focus.

I'm doing this for a registration form and all of the textboxes are inside the asp.net create user wizard control.

<script type="text/javascript">
function addLoadEvent(func) {
  var oldonload = window.onload;
  if (typeof window.onload != 'function') {
    window.onload = func;
  } else {
    window.onload = function() {
      oldonload();
      func();
    }
  }
}

function prepareInputsForHints() {
	var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("TextBox");
	for (var i=0; i<inputs.length; i++){
		// test to see if the hint span exists first
		if (inputs[i].parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0]) {
			// the span exists! on focus, show the hint
			inputs[i].onfocus = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "inline";
			}
			// when the cursor moves away from the field, hide the hint
			inputs[i].onblur = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "none";
			}
		}
	}
addLoadEvent(prepareInputsForHints);
</script>
span.

Validate form input - Japanese

 I've searched for several hours and haven't come up with a reference - or even many discussions - of how to go about validating Japanese names, addresses, etc. When I lived in Japan websites, atm's etc. required such info to be entered with the roman alphabet but I've seen some websites that are allowing Kanji/Hiragana/Katakana. I haven't tested many of them for validation but one that I did test (after looking at the page source and discovering no client-side validation) allowed me to put this in the name field: J*=123*go^ Neat!

Any pointers/references? Thanks

Command Management: Use Design Patterns to Simplify the Relationship Between Menus and Form Elements

In Windows Forms applications, similar commands, such as those in a menu and their counterparts on a toolbar, are not automatically related. They don't fire the same event or run the same handler routine. Yet code that allows the same or similar user commands to fire the same code simplifies development.This article describes the principles of command management and why it's important to have functional commands that are not exclusive to any one UI element. In order to provide an MFC-like command management infrastructure, a design pattern is developed and applied as a series of C# classes.
