Flash player doesn't send cookies while requesting an aspx page

I'm developing a web-site, that uses SWFUpload for multiple files upload to the server. Page, that uploades files, is accessable only to registered user. Authentication is done via web-forms (authentication mode="Forms" in Web.config). Flash uploades files to special web page - upload.aspx. In IE everything works great, but Flash player in non-IE browser (in Firefox, for example) does not send any cookies to upload.aspx. Because of it no sesion and no authentication information is available in this page.

I can pass all the information, necessary for uploading, in GET-parameters, which upload.aspx recieve. But this is a serious security hole and I don't want to expose session information. I can pass session identifier in GET-request. But the question is the following: how can I restore session information from the session identifier? How can I make HttpContext.Current.User point to currently logged in user in this case?

Any help will be appreciated.

Adobe Flash Player Problems With IE8

I keep getting a message (for various programs) that there's a missing component (Adobe Flash) but when I try to download it to IE8, another message declares that it doesn't work with 64 bit.net framework.     1.  What to do now? 2.  Is MS working with Adobe to get onto the same page?

adding Window Media Player into IE Toolbar

Hello: I am facing a problem in adding a Window Media Player Control into IE ToolBar. I found a project written in C# on Code Project site that can add a text into IE toolBar. But I can't add the window Media Player into IE. The Project I found constitutes of 2 projects BandOjLib and SampleBars window Application C sharp where the development is happening in it. So what you do in SampleBars project will be embedded into BandObj Project after compilation and start without debugging both BandObj and SampleBars respectively. When I am adding the Window Media Player into TOOLBOX, then to drag it into window Form => it gives me this error: Assembly generation failed -- Referenced assembly 'AxInterop.WMPLib' does not have a strong name. I have tried to give it a strong name but with no vain???? I am sending you the project link http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/dotnetbandobjects.asp?select=1113574&df=100&forumid=3788&noise=1&mpp=50&fr=51#xx1024015xx. So please if you have any advice try to inform me.   Regards, R0nda

Placeholder Until Flash Video Loads

VWD 2008 Express.  Adobe Captivate 3.  Visual Basic. I have a page onto which a flash video loads.  The flash video was created in Adobe Captivate.  Usually the 665x335 area where the flash video object loads just shows as an empty 665x335 frame (with a little picture icon in the upper lefthand corner) for a few seconds until the flash video finishes loading.  Then the video appears and starts running.  It makes the page look unprofessional.  Does anyone have an idea how I could have a default image show in the 665x335 space until the video loads, then to have the video take over?  Perhaps the flash player has an event that fires when it finishes loading and initializing?  Below is the flash video object that is embedded in my page: <div style="width: 665px; height: 335px" class="clickarea"> <object id="OneDay" codebase="http://fpdownload.macro../media.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" data="../media/video/homepage/OneDayAlternate.swf" width="658" height="335"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="../media/video/hom

Capture posted image from Flash/swf for uploading

This is the first time I've come across this kind of problem before and I'm having trouble approaching it.  I have a swf developed by someone else that posts an image and I have to create a handler of some kind to capture it, name it, then upload it to a directory.  I've tried a couple ways and nothing is working.  this is a quick an dirty approach, just an aspx file<%@ Page Language="C#" %><%@ Import Namespace="Components" %><%@ Import Namespace="System.IO" %><script runat="server">    public partial class upload : System.Web.UI.Page    {        protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)        {            string uploadDirectory;            uploadDirectory = Server.MapPath(@"images/");            string imageName = "image.jpg";            string uploadPath = uploadDirectory + imageName;                        //FileUpload imageUpload =

How do I get the "Device Instance Id" of USB flash drive?

Hello, How do I get the "Device Instance Id" of USB flash drive? WPF C# code to accomplish this will be greatly appreciated. I'm trying again to get an answer to the above question.  It appears that some do not know what I mean by "Device Instance Id".  Here is how you find it on a computer with the XP operating system: If you go to it the wrong way you will not find it.  You have to follow these steps (on XP): 1) Make sure you have a USB flash drive inserted into one of the USB ports. 2) Click "Start" then right click "MyComputer" then click "Manage". 3) In the "Computer Management" window click "Device Manager". 4) In the right pane expand the "Disk drives". 5) Right click on "USB Flash Disk USB Device" (Will NOT be there if no USB Flash drive inserted). 6) Click "Properties". 7) Click the "Details" tab. 8) The drop down should already have "Device Instance Id" showing, if not, select it. 9) The contents of the text box below contain the information I want. Again, if you get to this window a different way, the "Details" tab may not appear. Again, if you do not have a USB flash drive plugged into your computer, the "USB Flash Disk USB Device" will not appear. This is what has been suggested before, but does not w

Phillips MP3 player and MTP driver not registering, will only register as a MSC

I have been trying for the past 2 weeks to get my MP3 player to connect as a MTP and not a MSC, unfortunately to no success. We have 3 of the same MP3 players and none of them will connect as a MTP. I can get Rhapsody to work on the cpu, Media Player 11 will work on the cpu but in device manager the MP3 will still come up as a MSC and not a MTP. This cpu is a brand new build with me still using Windows XP PRO from the previous build however I had Media Player 10 on the last build and now I have 11 with the most current Rhapsody version 5.337. My previous build was a P4 this one is a AMD build. I don't believe that is the problem.  I have tried the following items and am at a loss as to what to try next. I have worked with Rhapsody and Phillips on the following items; reinstall all of the Rhapsody software (5 times), reinstall windows media player 11 (3 times), clean and clear MP3 reinstall software (7 times), deleted and reinstalled USB drivers (2 times), reinstalled the MTP drivers seperately and just yesterday I have performed a complete reinstall of windows and all drivers to no avail. MP3 player information is model SA1VBE04KW/17 All windows software is current and up to date. System informatio as follows; Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Verison 2002, Service Pack 3 Computer information; AMD Phenom 8250e, Triple Core Processor, 1.91

Video Upload and Player

Hi Everyone, Still kind of new to MVC, for that matter I've jumped from Classic ASP straight to MVC and missed web forms altogether. I did do some ASP.NET integration into my applications in the form of image upload. So that the image was manipulated size wise so the client didn't have to use Photoshop to get the images the right size. Now I have a client who wants to be able to upload images and video to his site, can anyone point me to an MVC tutorial where I can work out how to do this correctly? I guess I need to build a miniature YouTube kind of application for him. Cheers, Mike.
