The System.Array and System.Collections.Generic.List classes provide methods that let you avoid writing code to loop through every element of an array or list to find the items you're looking for. Ken Getz explains.

How to hide 'no actions' on BDC toolbar

On my BDC list web part, I want the pager feature on the toolbar, but not the 'actions' drop down on the toolbar itself, since it never has any actions in it.

Follow up bonus question, why does that 'Actions' option appear there anyway?  It never has any actions that I can find.

Can you actually assign some sort of action there (as opposed to the line items actions in the web part).

Site Collection Usage Summary: No Data Available

Usage analysis processing is enable for my farm in both Central Administration and in the SSP.

I've checked TImer Job Status and the three timer jobs responsible for doing the log analsis are all running.

I've also checked the log file locations and the log files are being generated.

Yet when I browse the "Site collection usage summary" report (SpUsageSite.aspx) I get the following:

No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled only recently, or there might have been insufficient usage to result in any values for the report.

My farm is running 2007 Enterprise SP2 (

Can someone confirm if this issue was fixed with one of the CU's that were issues post-SP2?

No "Site Actions" Menu Available in Sharepoint 2007

I installed Sharepoint Designer 2007 on my home pc. It does not have the "Site Actions" menu. I originally created my Web site (I upload files via FTP) using MS Frontpage. How do I change the theme created in MS Frontpage? Or, how do I find the "Site Actions" menu?

Any help will be appreciated.

Custom actions and URL tokens when working with the Ribbon

I'm trying to add a new item to the Ribbon using a custom action in a VS SP2010 project. The new action shows up where we want it but the problem we are facing is that tokens like {ItemId} or {SelectedItemId} are not parsed when used in the CommandAction attribute. I would like to use these tokens and construct a URL pointing to an application page we've created. In the same way one can do using UrlAction when adding custom actions to the ECB menu (this is working fine in our project). The custom action below simply prints out different tokens. When run it seems like the tokens {SiteUrl},{SelectedListId} and {SelectedItemId}are parsed but for me both SelectedListId and SelectedItemId are null. Are there any other tokens that can be user or is there a better way to get hold of the item and list for the context? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <CustomAction Id="{1f2da003-2069-4d4a-8fc5-1deeb98ecdda}" Location="CommandUI.Ribbon" Sequence="20"> <CommandUIExtension> <CommandUIDefinitions> <CommandUIDefinition Location="Ribbon.ListForm.Display.Manage.Controls._children"> <Button Id="{ca157255-5ef3-4f1c-bcb6-6ff5ff7610fe}" Command="{7887e42e-

New / Upload / Actions / Settings / View menus on a document library are hidden

I have a Document library. On the View Page (All Documents) for the Document library, I do not see the menu bar with the "New / Upload / Actions / Settings / View" menus. It looks like one of the users with owner permissions did something to cause this behavior. No custom code exists on the page. I am not sure how this menu bar can be hidden. Can someone please clarify. I am a site collection administrator.

unable to load workflow actions from the server.

When I try to create a workflow in SPD for my teamsite (for which I have full control) I get the above error message. I have read many posts on this topic but am not conviced that what I usually see about the actions not loading applies to my case beacusewe have a developer logging in remotely that is able to create a workflow in the same site using SPD.  I have .net 3.5 framework, I have full control permissions, and the wss.actions file is not bad in that it is obviously loading for the remote developer, what else could be causing this error? I find no error messages in the SharePoint logs nor the application logs although the sharepoint logs are throttled back.

How can i route to different actions having same signature if i don't want to pass action name in U

I am having one controller Test having following actions (1)public ActionResult ABC (string parameter1, string parameter2)       (2)public ActionResult XYZ (string parameter1, string parameter2,string parameter3, string parameter4)       i have added following html.routelinks  <%= Html.RouteLink("ABC","ABC", new { parameter1 = 100, parameter2 = 200 } )%><br /> <%= Html.RouteLink("XYZ", "XYZ", new { parameter1 = 1000 , parameter2 = 2000 }) %> last two parameters in XYZ action are optionals so i have not passed them in Html.routelink  routes.MapRoute("ABC", "Test/{parameter1}/{parameter2}", new { controller = "Test", action = "ABC", parameter1= 0,parameter2=0 }); routes.MapRoute("XYZ", "Test/{parameter1}/{parameter2}/{parameter3}/{parameter4}", new { controller = "Test", action = "XYZ", parameter1=0,parameter2=0 ,parameter3=UrlParameter.Optional,parameter4=UrlParameter.Optional}); In above senario in both cases same route "ABC" is called eventhough i have clicked on second Html.routelink.can anyone solve this issue ? how can i route according to route name instead of number of parameters?

How to hide the summary page of Web Services?

Hi there, a while ago I came across a way to hide the summary page of Web Services. I think it's an attribute that I can set for the entire web service interface, but I couldn't find it anymore. Does anyone know how it's done? For example, if I implemented a web service interface at using foobar.asmx, if I access foobar.asmx directly, I will see a summary page that tells me about all the webmethods available, etc. How do I prevent that page from being displayed? Thanks,- K.
