I'm trying to embed a flv in my web page and I don't have a clue how to do it.
I downloded and installed ASPNetFlashVideo and the tools do not appear in my toolbox.
So if anyone has a work around it would be greatly appreciated.
I need to get a list of programs/files that were installed when I was trying to install VWD 2008 so I can go through and remove them. The installation did not actually install the main part of the program so I can't start with removing Microsoft VWD 2008 (a folder was created in Program files but it is empty. I found this (below) but I'm not sure that it applies. I don't want to remove programs/files that are being used by other programs. (I can't just try to install again because there is not enough room on my hard drive)
This article applies to pre-Release versions of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. For 2005 version of this document, see Uninstalling Previous Versions of Visual Studio 2005.
For best results, Visual Studio 2008 should b
I'm a .NET noob, so forgive this if it's a stupid question...
I'm doing some work on a small project inhereited from someone. The project contains lots of .aspx and .cs files, as well as a web.config, .sln file etc etc. I want to just try to open this in Visual Web Developer, compile it, upload the compiled files to a demo web server, then see if it has worked (i.e that the website runs on the demo server). I know the source works as the person who sent it has uploaded it so far to the demo server, but I want to run it locally to make sure I can get the whole process of building working before I do any mods.
So I open the .sln file. I hit 'build > build website'. It says it has completed without any errors. But now I want to look at the compiled source of these files to make sure the code there has changed such that the .aspx files now reference the compiled assembly rather than the code-behind. But when I browse to the project in Windows explorer and open one of the .aspx files, it's still referencing the .cs code-behind - as if it hasn't compiled to an assembly. I thought that once you build, all of the .aspx files have a reference to a dll, rather than a cs file?
I can only think the reason is that when you build a project, it builds it somewhere else? Am
I had un-installed SQL Server 2008 Express that came with the Visual Studio 2010 Pro.
I had installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer, and Im able to connect through the Management Studio and Visual Studio itself.
The problem is: whenever I create a new ASP.NET Web Application, the web.config always defaults using SQLEXPRESS.
How can I change this within Visual Studio 2010 so that the web.config defaults to the new database SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer that I installed?
I am trying to follow a tutorial, in the tutorial I must drop a login status on the stage, then later I must drop a login from the toolbox, then later I would have to test the page, when I put something as a username and as a password I have this error:

I understand that the database is not being created but why?? isn't supposed to be automatically generated? I go to the app folder and there is nothing over there, also for the database explorer there are no new databases defined, is it something to do with my con
Did anyone here know on how to access BIRT report using VWD 2008 EE. I had designed my report using BIRT. But now, my problem is, i don't know how to link that page with my web application (VWD). Do i need to install any plugin..?
Hope, someone could guide me to solve this matter. Please & thanks in advanced.
We are trying to install VWD 2010 on a windows 2008 server. We already have installed the 2008 version as well as SQL 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2. The Web Platform installer is not installing VWD 2010 however.
At first it notified us that the OS does not allow it, after running tons of updates on the OS (some of which failed) it is still not doing it, not even donwloading it. The latest message simply asked us to post the error on the forum.
Has anybody had similar experiences? If so, how was it solved?
I have downloaded, installed, registered and re-installed the above product. When I run the program, I do not have the option to create or open a website. Can anyone tell me why this option is missing? Thanks, Neil
Can anyone point me to a link where I can install VSE 2008?
I can't seem to find it anymore, the one on the MS site downloads and install VSE 2010.
I don't think version 2010 is compatible with the work I've done in 2008? Or is it?
My memory in task manager reaches about 900,000K and I don't know why it does this. Definately slows everything down, especially when I rebuild my tableAdapters, takes about 30 seconds sometimes to rebuild the project.
