I'm working on a library that stores information on various cases. The case table has several columns that contain descriptive strings on what happened in the case. I would like to create a single filter that returns all cases where the search string is found in any of the columns. I've looked at Dynamic Data Filtering, but as far as I can tell, the "Contains" filter only allows you to connect to each column individually. Has anyone tried this?
àIôm currently programming a web search application in ASP.Net and having problem with full text searching. My requirements are:
1. Save a byte array from SQL server to word document as a temp file in a server side?
2. How to highlight the string I am currently searching in the Word document and return to the user the sentence with the highlighted string (like on Bing or any other search engines)? Is it possible to fullfill this requirement with full-text search integrated in SQL Server 2008?
Thanks in advance,Regards,
We have a document library on a site created off of the Report Center site template. We uploaded a Word 2007 document with the word zebra in the text. Using the search bar at the top of the page we selected This list: Our document library and searched for
zebra. We received no results.
We tested the same thing on another site (site template Team site) within the same site collection and search worked fine.
Does the Report Center search function differently then the search functionality on the Team site?
I have created procedure for full-text search and it works in SQL Management Studio 2008 (SQL Server 2008 Express) but in Visual Studio 2010 not - I have error:
Full-Text Search is not installed, or a full-text component cannot be loaded.
I have read somewhere that only admin can use full-text indexes - so how I can use full-text search in VS2010 ?
See requirement examples below.... any suggestions / ideas are helpful....
I am using SQL server 2005 and I have a limitation that I should not use full text search.
I have a table with nvarchar(100) column which holds data. Users will enter search terms on text box with predefined grammar. See examples below.....
1. BEFORE operator
"intersection before(n) car" finds intersection when it precedes car by n terms, where n is the nearness value
2. NEAR operator
"intersection near(n) car" finds intersection within n terms of car, where n is the nearness value
In my ASP.net application I have used index server utility to search specific text from word/text files.
For this functionality I have used index server and configured folder. After implementation of this program this was running fine but after some time user reported they can not find keyword "C#" or any word with "#". I think I should share my experience and solution with other developer who may also faced or facing this issue.
Use the following code and it will work.
"Desc" is the text box name and searchstr is the search string paased to index server to search from files.
searchStr = "C#"
searchStr = "C#"
searchStr = Desc.Text.ToLower()
I am newbie to infopath.
I have assignment to search data from sharepoint list and display it to repeating table. Below is the case in detail.
i. User enter search text in first textbox of repeating table.
ii. After text enter you will Enter or click tab button.
iii. As user press Tab /Enter, the other textboxes of repeating table will populate with data automatically.
iv. If searched data rows are more then one, then dynamically add new row's in repeating table and show searched data.
I am working at offical assignment and it's deadline is very tough. i had made extensive search at google and msdn forum but unable to accomplish. I would appreciate and thanks is some provide me solution in form to a small infopath application and code
I have a strange issue. I have pre-existing data in my table with full text index defined along with catalog. I noticed that I did not have the docx filter ,so I installed
the filter and performed the steps below. After installing the filter
I added a couple of new records. I noticed that the full text search pulled up the new records matching the criteria but did not return any pre-existing records. Could you please let me know the issue.Please note – currently I am using sql 2008
, but also would like to verify the same in sql 2005 as well.
Also could you please verify the steps below for installation in sql 2008 and sql 2005 and with different architectures (Eg windows 2003/2008, 32bit, 64 bit etc)
This was tested on VM image on 64 bit architecture Windows 200
I have a setup with seven Audience groups. In Central Admin I can see that each group have several members.
When a try to add an Audience to an item (Page, list item, web part etc) I use the Select Audience Picker Dialog, but when I open the dialog there is an alert message saying:
"No audience was found based on your search request. Refine your search text."
When I make a search for one of my Audiences it shows up.
But I was expecting that the dialog would show me my seven Audiences, without having to search for them first. This behavior wasen't in SharePoint 2007.
Can somebody help? Do I miss a configuration somewhere?
By the way, all the Audiences have been compiled.
Is there any way I can change the text in the search form in SharePoint 2010?
It now says "Search this site..." and I would like to change that to a my custom text.
