Composite control: How to bubble a textbox's TextChanged event?

I've created a composite control that contains several controls, including a textbox. I'm trying to expose the TextChanged event of the textbox as an event on the composite control. I understand that events can be bubbled up the control hierarchy and handled at a higher level, which I've attempted to do, but I can't get the bubbled event to fire. When I drop the control on an aspx I can see the TextChanged event, I can subscribe to the event, but nothing ever happens. Any suggestions? Here is what I think is the relevant code:

// My event
private static readonly object EventTextChanged = new object();

//Handle the bubbled event
EventHandler textChangedHandler = (EventHandler)Events[EventTextChanged];

protected override bool OnBubbleEvent(object source, EventArgs e)
    bool handled = false;

C++ at Work: Event Programming, Part 2

Last month I answered a question about implementing native events in C++ (see C++ At Work: Event Programming). I discussed events in general and showed how to use an interface to define event handlers for your class that clients must implement to handle events.

Good afternoon.

file upload in Create User Wizard Created User event with UpdatePanel Tag wont work?

In my Create User Wizard1 Created User Wizard Event, I am collecting extra information from text boxes and allowing

the user to uplad a file.

I have put the Submit button within an Update Panel Tag but since I have done this it does not work.

Is there a way round it. In this situation would you use a trigger.?

How to get Click event to work with checkbox

I am new to ASP.Net and I'm having trouble figuring out what needs to be where in my code.  I have a webform with 2 listboxes and 2 checkboxes... When I check checkbox1 I want listbox1 to be disabled and checkbox2 to be disabled.  Similarly, when I check checkbox2 I want listbox2 to be disabled and checkbox1 to be disabled.  The code does not show any errors; however, when I run the Page everything appears as it is supposed to but when I check the boxes, nothing happens.  What am I missing that will link the code on the .aspx.vb page to the objects on the .aspx page and make them work together?

Here is my code for Page1.aspx.vb:

Public Class LCPage1
    Inherits System.Web.UI.Page

    Protected Sub AllClients_Click(ByVal sender As ObjectByVal e

Getting AppDomain.UnhandledException event to work in a Windows Service

Nearly every forum thread I have found on "catching unhandled exceptions in a service" seems to end up where I am.  The supposed solution is the use of the AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException event.  But it doesn't work for someone, who then asks why and gets no answer.  Same for me; I can't get the event to happen.  It's as if I need the ServiceProcess version of Application.SetUnhandledExceptionMode(), which doesn't exist. For diagnosing this, I start a timer in a child object of the service and then throw an exception in the timer event handler.  Simple enough to simulate the real situation.  I have tried subscribing to the UnhandledException event in at least a half dozen locations throughout the service, from the Program that runs ServiceBase.Run() to the constructor of the object that owns the Timer, but it never catches this exception. The VS debugger recognizes that the forced exception is unhandled and takes me to the place where is thrown, letting me know it is an unhandled exception. Why doesn't my handler catch it?  Running without the debugger, the exception throws, the timer thread crashes, the service continues merrily along, and nothing gets logged anywhere.  That is NOT the result I need.  What are the people for whom this works doing that I am not doing? How can I at least get the offe

Modal popup with button click event won't work

Hi all,I try to create a asp.net 4 webpage, using masterpage.On webpage I have a formview and inside the formview I have a ajax modalpopup. I have multiple buttons and textboxes on the modalpopup, and created a test event, but I still get the message that the textbox is not declared.Here is how the code is set at this point:<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="HeadContent" runat="server"> <style type="text/css"> .ModalPopupBG { background-color: #666699; filter: alpha(opacity=50); opacity: 0.7; } .popup_Container { background-color:#fffeb2; border:2px solid #000000; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; } .HellowWorldPopup { min-width:200px; min-height:150px; background:white; } .popup_Titlebar { background: url(../Styles/titlebar_bg.jpg); height: 29px; } .popup_Body { padding:15px 15px 15px 15px; font-family:Arial; font-weight:bold; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:15pt; clear:both; padding:20px; } .TitlebarLeft { float:left; padding-left:5px; padding-top:5px; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight:bold; font-size:12px; color:#FFFFFF; } .TitlebarRight { background:url(../Styles/cross_icon_normal.png); background-position:right; background-repeat:no-repeat; height:15px; width:16px; float:right; cursor:pointer; margin-right:5px; margin-top:5px;

User Control with JQuery doesnot work inside update panel

Hi All,

I created a .NET user control to work as a DropdownCheckbox and added Jquery to give the sliding and hide effects. The code is as below:

 <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
        var showRegionWindow = function (ev) {
            var pos = $("#lnkChangeRegion").offset();
            var width = 230;
            var height = 55;
            //$("#changeRegionPanel").css({ "left": +((pos.left) - 215) + "px", "top": height + 16 + "px" });.
            document.getElementById("lnkChangeRegion").style.display = 'none';

        var hideRegionWindow = function (ev) {
            var textVal = "";

AjaxControlToolkit TextBoxWatermarkExtender fires TextChanged Event on every postback

I haven't been able to find anything on the net about this yet. A project that used to work fine all of a sudden started having trouble with a couple users. The TextBoxWatermarkExtenders for these users are now always firing the TextChanged event of the textboxes they are assigned to for every postback. I don't think this is what they are supposed to do. They didn't use to do this. Has anyone else experienced this? I can add code to ignore these unintentional events, but I would like to know why all of a sudden the change in behavior.

Any information about this would be greatly appreciated.

asp:textbox TextChanged event

I have a textbox in my app in which I have code behind in the "onTextChanged" event that I'd like to execute  without doing an entire page post back .

I can't use use AJAX not an option for me (corporate thing).

Anyways, I have been struggling with the specifics on implementing ICallbackEventHandler. Or is than another way I can/should do this.

The code in the textChanged event pulls a dataset from the DB and does a validation.

Any advice is appreciated.

TextBox TextChanged event not triggered

I have a textbox, under a specific circumstance, its textchanged event doesn't fired.

the keydown and previewkeydown do fired.

I assume there are other control intercept the keydown event and fool around it, probably did something over it.

but what can caused the textchanged event being cut off?

or any debugging approach for this?

i tried the AddHandler to the textchanged, in case its handled prop set to true that caused the cut off. but same, the event still don't get triggered under that special circumstance.

TextBox in UserControl: "TextChanged" event does not see other controls

I am building a UserControl with several TextBox controls. The behavior I'm looking for, is everytime a value is changed in any TextBox, the UserControl refreshes a couple labels contained within it. Here's the code behind file that does the work:

Public Sub Refresh(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Controls.TextChangedEventArgs)
    lblTotalHours.Content = txtHours.Text
End Sub

Now, here's a way to hook it up that works, however, "PreviewTextInput" gives the old textbox value to Refresh() and not the new one (as expected). I'm just writing this example because I had to confirm that my method of linking the event worked - and it does. My application runs fine even though the result isn't what I am looking for: (edit: to make it work, i also adapted the Refresh() declaration to match the PreviewTextInput delegate to TextCompositionEventArgs, if I recall correctly...)

<UserControl ...>
        <Style TargetType="x:Key TextBox">
            <EventSetter Event="PreviewTextInput" Handler="Refresh" />
        <TextBox Name=&q

Response.Redirect doesnot work

After Authentication, the Login page gets redirected to Default.aspx.

I am using the below snippet in Login.aspx and javascript below that in the Default.aspx so as to disable the browser back button, which works fine.

Now, if I do a response.redirect on signout, it fails the page to redirect to Login again. How can I overcome this scenario?

<body  onLoad="if(history.length>0)history.go(+1)">

 <script type="text/javascript">
          function noBack() { window.history.forward() }
          window.onload = noBack;
          window.onpageshow = function (evt) { if (evt.persisted) noBack() }
          window.onunload = function () { void (0) }
