I was just setting up a noddy example for replication between sqlserver full version and express versions
server: sql server 2005 (server 2003)
me: sql server 2005 express (win xp)
ATM just using snapshot replication
I've got the database published on the full server version (remote pc), and can use local subscriptions on the server side., and have successfully set up a subscription on my pc with express. - all seems ok, but I can;t seem to do any table updating on the
express subscription. - if I go into the main sqql server and re-initialise, it updates the local subscription, but not the express one.
SO - I read that I may need to use sync manager to do it - only sync manager won't let me connect to the remote server. Then I read it's only available if sql server is on the pc you're using sync manager on,
Surely there must be some way of doing a relatively simple snapshot initialise from a remote server?
