I need to make a backup file(.bak) of a database(.mdf)
I learned I need to use MS SQL Server management studio Express to do so, but I can't figure it out how.
I don't know how to connect to the database using this program. In the "Connect to Server" dialogue window, I am supposed to choose a server name from the dropdown list, but nothing comes up. What am i doing wrong? Pls see the screet shot. Please help!
hey guy, i need help in a very troubling matter. I want to make a textbox with a specific style, within this style a set of images as background parts, how can i attach these images to the custom control as whenever i take the .dll file and add it to the toolbar the images do not appear. So i tried to make them as resource files and their property as embedded in .resx file, so how to make the css style background image url to be linked to any of those image.
thanks in advance
Here is the page directive for the page that throws the error:<%@ Page language="c#" Inherits="University.AspNet.Index" CodeFile="Index.aspx.cs" %>The code behind file Index.aspx.cs starts like this:

Due to the known problem of session variables getting lost if using InProc-server during frequent changes in development, I had to choose between SQL and ASP.NET State server, so I opted for the second. Initially, all fine, but after using it for a few days, I started to get this error:
Server Error in '/cv2' Application.Unable to make the session state request to the session state server. Please ensure that the ASP.NET State service is started and that the client and server ports are the same. If the server is on a remote machine, please ensure that it accepts remote requests by checking the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\aspnet_state\Parameters\AllowRemoteConnection. If the server is on the local machine, and if the before mentioned registry value does not exist or is set to 0, then the state server connection string must use either 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' as the server name.Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

I have earlier used Directory.Move to move one folder into an existing sub folder. The path I specified happened to have a slightly different case to the existing directory (temp vs Temp), and the result is two folders, one called temp the other Temp. Normally
we can't do this through windows as it recognises the two folders to ultimately have the same name regardless of case. I expected the .NET class to handle in the same way.
I've deleted the original Temp folder, but this 'temp' directory still remains... it's recognised by Windows as a directory yet also reported as not existing! Whilst I could probably live with a redundant corrupt file somewhere on my disk it's really causing
some problems with recursive functions that, like the rest of windows, get confused by the directory which exists but doesn't exist.
Has anybody had this same problem? Or rather, how can I fix this?
Running VS2008 on Win7.
I have installed a two node active/passive sql 2005 cluster on windows 2003 in vmware workstation environment . the cluster installed successfully
(configured the cluster according to the link "http://www.bradspace.net/blog/kb/?p=91&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1"). but when I try to move sql server resource group to passive node, it gets fail by logging following error message in event
log "initerrlog: Could not open error log file 'G:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG'. Operating system error = 1392(The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.)."
I have taken sql resources group offline and manually moved only sql server shared drive to other node and i have found that i am not being able to access error log or any other folder including data on node 2. the operating system shows a error saying that
disk is corrupted. I have run chkdsk which delete's all the files of sql setup.
I re-installed sql server, but again found the same problem . by wo
I have three databases named XDW, XOLTP, XOLTPSchema. All of these are for only one application. In the application, user should do backup/restore using GUI.
1. How I should do backup/restore in one transaction? i.e. all of three actions should be success elsewhere all of them should fail.
2. Is it possible to backup them into only one file e.g. X.bak?
3. Or, What is the standard solution in this condition?
Thanks in advance.
