I created a sql database with SQL Server 2008 Express. Then I attached it to a web site I am building with Expression Web 4 to test
it. When I go back to SQL Server 2008, I cannot open the database anymore, even though it is showing in Windows Explorer in the rightful data file. I have noticed the same thing with Visual Studio 2010. Ironically, when I go back to Expression Web, the
same database I was working on a few minutes back can no longer be conected. This has happened several times, prompting me to start another database all over, only to find the old one 'magically' opened a few days later.
When I try to open the db with SQL Server Mgt Studio, I get the error message: "The database SS is not accessible (Object Explorer)". The error message from Expression
Web 4 when I try to test the query (during Configure Data Source) is: "Could not create connection. Cannot open database SS requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'Laptop\User'." I have noticed this several times, and restarting
the machine does not always help.
But I can see that the database is still in the Data folder when I browse with Windows Explorer. Please help.
