SQL Server Not found

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Hi I'm basically running SQL Server Standard Edition and do data replication. When i try to access the data base from machine B (Subscriber) it says   "TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to IP-0HDR372X. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 53) But if i use IP address of that machine it is able to connect. What is the issue with the Server name mapping?

scripts file not found on server - 404

Fiddler is showing a 404 error when my published web application runs. the jquery.js file in
/scripts is highlighted in red by fiddler as not found. ( IIS log also shows the 404 error ).
I run the web app from visual studio, on local host - no problems. The publish is successful.
All the files are in the scripts folder of the web app on the server.

In the site.master I have:
<script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Visual studio does not complain about this. ( which indicates the file is found. )

Oddly, when I fully qualify the path, VS says file not found, but after I publish and run, fiddler
shows the jquery file being found and sent to the browser.
<script src="/MvcApplication1/Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

when the <script> path is "../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js", the fiddler error is
404: /Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js .

when the <script> path is "/MvcApplication1/Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js", fiddler shows the file
being sent to the browser from that /MvcApplication1/Scripts path.

Stored procedures not found in Analysis Server

Hi, it seems that my AS2008R2 installation got corrupted and I don't find any way to repair it. AS doesn't "find" stored procedures. Nor stored procedures written by me, nor system stored procedures, nor Data Mining stored procedures. E.g., when I try to browse a Data Mining model I get the following error: Query (1, 6) The '[System].[Microsoft].[AnalysisServices].[System].[DataMining].[AssociationRules].[GetStatistics]' function does not exist. The problem started with my AS2008 installation. I unistalled, then re-installed. Then I upgraded to AS2008R2. Then I repaired the AS2008R2 installation. Nothing ! I don't want to reinstall the server. Please help ! Thanks          Teodoro Marinucci

I am trying to upload a file via the ftpwebrequest object. I have downloaded a sample routine showing how to use the ftpwebrequest object that seems to be pretty popular on the web. However, I am not having much luck getting past this error msg. Anyway, I have posted the routine where I am getting the error.

The scenario is that I have a console application that passes 6 command line parameters to the app. Currently, all 6 parameters are supplied and working fine. I have highlighted in bold black what the pTargetDestination variable contains.

I noticed that the Full Text Search is of a value less than sp1 like the other engines

could this be why the update isn't working?

Hello,

I have simply created share point web part in VS 2010 that displays list's items count with following code in page load event

  string SitePath = SPContext.Current.Web.Url.ToString() + "/";

  lblWebException.Visible = true;

  SPSite site = new SPSite(SitePath);
  SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb();
  SPList lst = web.Lists["Bucket"];

  lblWebException.Text = Convert.ToString(lst.Items.Count);

Issue :

I have deployed this webpart solution as farm solution on server on default site , that's working fine on default site and gives result ,Now i have extended this site on "Internet" zone and mapped with live IP ( I have set Host Header Value as Live IP ) and set Anonymous Access as YES

the extended site which is live , working good on net , but when i go to webpart page where i have deployed above webpart that shows following error

"The Web application at http://LiveServerIP:PortNumber/ could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."

I have set Target Platform as "Any CPU" as well there is full access to appli

ODBC connection issue to SQL 2000 SP4. [TCP/IP Sockets]Specified SQL server not found

Server: Stand alone Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition Service Pack 2

The server has 4 quad-core processors with 32Gb RAM

SQL: 2 instances of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition SP4 with cumulative update version: 8.00.2040

I am trying to connect to the named instance of SQL Server with an ODBC connection. I am a local admin on the server and a sysadmin on both the default instance and the named instance. I get the error message

Connection failed:
SQLState: '01000'
SQL Server Error: 11004
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).
Connection failed:
SQLState: '08001'
SQL Server Error: 6
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]Specified SQL server not found.

My users are trying to connect via SQL login and are also receiving the same error message.

The default instance is listening on port 1433. The named instance is listening on port 1464. There is no Windows firewall installed on the server.

The annoying thing is that if I click on the button called "Client Configuration" when using the "ODBC Data Source Administrator" dialogue wizard, and I un-tick the radio box called "Dynamically determine port", and hardcode the port 1464 into the dialogue box, everything works as it should do.

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.

Making Ajax Callbacks to the Server Using jQuery with ASP.NET

In the first part of this article series I introduced jQuery's functionality and how it provides a rich client side programming model. This time around I'll expand on these concepts and show you how you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET using it as an AJAX backend to retrieve data. I'll also discuss how you can create ASP.NET controls and otherwise interact with jQuery content from ASP.NET pages in WebForms.

jQuery is just a JavaScript library so it will work seamlessly with ASP.NET both from page code as well as through backend driven code using the Page.ClientScript object or ScriptManager. You can use jQuery on its own as a client side and Ajax library that communicates with ASP.NET or you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET AJAX. The two actually complement each other quite well as jQuery provides functionality that the ASP.NET AJAX library does not and vice versa. For the most part the interaction between the two libraries is trouble free except for a few very rare edge cases.
