Currently I have 35 remote locations, each with a SQL Server, that all replicate (transactional) back to a data center as well as replication from the data center to each location.
Each remote location has approx 13 publications each with one subscription that all go to the data center.
The data center has 3 sets of filtered publications (1 for each location) with one subscriber & 26 publications that each have 35 subscribers (to the remote locations)
The SQL Server @ the data center is used very little for anything other than replication. The SQL Server in the data center is used for a pass through & the data is replicated to the main office for queries/processing/etc.
A questions has bee brought up about scheduling.
What is the best practice when it comes to scheduling data to be replicated from the data center to the remote locations??
What is the best practice when it comes to scheduling data to be replicated from the remote locations to the data center??
Is there any documented white papers out there that I can use as a guide??
Currently most replication happens at X after the hour, where X is the location number (#3-#44).
Does anyone have any suggestions??
