How to script default constraints using SMO

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
I have developed a db copy tool using smo and the only thing that I cannot get to work is the transfer of a default constraint. We have two types of copies. Full and clean. The full is one might expect a simple backup and restore. A clean is a db built from scratch transfering the schema and then data for a subset of tables. It is the clean copy where I cannot get the default constraint to work. I hope I am just missing setting an option. Code is as follows:   Transfer cleanCopySchema = new Transfer(sourceDatabase); cleanCopySchema.CopyAllTables = true; cleanCopySchema.DropDestinationObjectsFirst = true; cleanCopySchema.Options.IncludeIfNotExists = true; cleanCopySchema.Options.WithDependencies = false; cleanCopySchema.Options.ContinueScriptingOnError = true;   cleanCopySchema.CopyData = false; cleanCopySchema.CopyAllUserDefinedFunctions = true; cleanCopySchema.CopySchema = true; cleanCopySchema.DestinationServer = destinationServer.Name.ToString(); cleanCopySchema.DestinationLoginSecure = true; cleanCopySchema.DestinationDatabase = request.DestinationDatabaseName; cleanCopySchema.CopyAllUsers = false; cleanCopySchema.CopyAllLogins = false; cleanCopySchema.CopyAllStoredProcedures = true; cleanCopySchema.CopyAllViews = true; cleanCopySchema.Options.DriAll = true; cleanCopySchema.Options.Indexes = true; cleanCopySchema.Options.DriDefaults = true; cle

ssrs 2008 R2 - report parameter with no default set throws java script error

We have recently upgraded from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2008 R2....I am experiencing a problem with my report parameters on my SSRS reports. It seems that my report parameters that I do not have a specified 'default' value throws a java script error when I try and run/render the report under R2.  As soon as I put a 'default' value on the report param, everything is fine.  However, that is not the behavior we need for our reports...the user needs to pick their selection. Can anyone shed some light on this, it seems to be an AJAX problem...I need to be able to have report parameters with a list of values, but no 'default' value on the parameter.

Default ASP.NET Architecture

In providing an architectural approach, some assumptions are made concerning the project goals. These assumptions should be used as a litmus test to determine if the described architecture may be an appropriate fit for your ASP.NET application.

Rendering ASP.NET Script References into the Html Header

One thing that I've come to appreciate in control development in ASP.NET that use JavaScript is the ability to have more control over script and script include placement than ASP.NET provides natively. Specifically in ASP.NET you can use either the ClientScriptManager or ScriptManager to embed scripts and script references into pages via code.

 How do you set the start page with godaddy hosting? I can see no way of doing this! You do not seem to have access to the IIS settings that allow you to change it!

*.axd script references not being rendered to browser

I'm running VS2010 with .net 4.0, and am running into issues with the .net ajax script tags mysteriously not being rendered to the browser.

So far I've reduced it to a scenario where I set the DataSourceID property of a databound control.  More specifically, I've only tested it on a Gridview and a DropDownList.

This can be reproduced fairly easily on my machine by following these steps:

1. Create a new empty Web Application Project

2. Create a new Web Form

3. Add a ScriptManager inside the form

4. Add a DropDownList and a DataSource (I used an ObjectDataSource)

5. Set the DataSourceID property of the DropDownList to the ID of the DataSource.  This can be done either declaratively on the .aspx page, or in the code behind in the aspx.cs page, and both produce the same results.

6. Open the page in a browser and watch as you get a javascript error stating "Sys is not defined" and notice that the page source contains no script tags referencing *.axd scripts.

Here's my source code showing my set up:

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="ScriptResourceFAIL.Default" %>

Client script not running

Dear all,

in my MVC 2 application, and in the shared Master Page I wrote this little script for menu handling :

<script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () {
     $('#nav li').hover(
         function () {
             //show its submenu
             $('ul', this).slideDown(100);
        function () {
           //hide its submenu
            $('ul', this).slideUp(100);

The script, that shows menu items when the

How to change the default page base class?

I've tried setting the <pages pageBaseType="DynamicWebPage" /> value in web.config, but when I response.write out the page type, I'm still getting Microsoft.WebPages.WebPage.

I'm simply trying to sub-class WebPage and add some additional functionality such as a dynamic PageData dictionary similar to Phil Haack's dynamic ViewData dictionary.

Default page for my Forlder(product)?

Hai all,

i need to list all the products. please help me on this.

Setting default localization

I ever thought that I can set a default localization if the users one (which is set in the browser) isn't available.

I've implemented my localresource files for localization. The start.aspx.resx contains all texts and elements for German use and the start.aspx.en.resx for English users. When I switch the language in the browser settings from German to English everything works fine and the english text is displayed. But when I switch to an other language which is not German or English, it takes defaulty the german resource files.

I've set

UICulture="auto:en-US" Culture="auto:en-US"

as well, but it didn't assume the .en resource file automatically. (For example when I enter the website and switch the browser language to French or Italian it should take the english resource files.)

Thanks and regards,

Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap

I created 2 projects in my solution:

  1. Classic asp.net web service (asmx)
  2. Class library project which references service
  3. web site project which references class library project
  4. Windows app project which references service.

Both projects were created in 3.5 framework and in Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2.

I added web service reference to Class library project. When it asked for namespace I typed "CurrencyProxy". Projects build ok, but when I run web app, Class library throws an error: Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element.

I believe it has something to do with app.config in Class library project. Here is part from app.config:

<binding name="CurrencyServiceSoap" closeTimeout=

ReportViewer :: Failed to enable constraints. But my statement is valid!!

  • A
  • n error has occurred during report processing.
      • Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
        • Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints.

    Why do I keep getting this error, even when not using any data on the report. When I run the query in SQL server I get a resultset. However when I try to render the report I get this error.

    default.browser from asp.net 3.5 to asp.net 4.0

    hello, it's me again :-)

    a (maybe) stupid question:

    in asp.net 3.5 i've this .browser file:

    <browser refID="safari1plus">

    <adapter controlType="System.Web.UI.WebControls.Menu" adapterType="" />

    now i suppose that in asp.net 4.0 this is not useful.

    So what i've to do? I've simply to delete "App_Browsers" folder in my converted project or i've to put in this folder:

    What's the best way?

    Thank  you very much!

    Cutting Edge: Custom Script Callbacks in ASP.NET

    ASP. NET client callbacks represent a neat and elegant way to execute server-side code without posting and refreshing the current page. I discussed ASP. NET callbacks in the August and December 2004 installments of Cutting Edge, considering them from the perspective of rendered pages making background callbacks to the server, sending input data to the relevant page, and receiving a response.

    Cutting Edge: Implications of Script Callbacks in ASP.NET

    Script callbacks in ASP. NET 2. 0 is a feature whose time has come. Script callbacks can significantly speed up an application by limiting server postbacks. They also allow you to execute small portions of server-side code without having to manage the view state for reading or writing.
