How do I install SQL Server 2005 JDBC driver

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I'm an new bie to "SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver". I have downloaded SQL Server 2005 JDBC driver and extracted it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver\. Is the installation complete now? How can I use this driver from my application? If there is a step-by-step instruction on whether we need to run some scripts in SQL Server or to configure some system variables, it would be great. Thanks in advance for your time in this.Cheeeeerrzzzz! S@kthi http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlsakthi | http://twitter.com/PowerSakthi Mark as Answer if it helps. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver

I'm getting the following exception when attempting to connect to SQL Server 2005 using Microsoft's new JDBC driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host  has failed. java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect The help docs suggest checking connectivity using telnet. So attempting to connect via telnet to 127.0.0.1:1433 generates: Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed. So I try to start telnet: net start telnet I get the following error message: The service cannot be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enables devices associated with it. Can anyone help? Thanks

SQL Server 2005: Install reporting services - which version?

Hello - I installed SQL Server 2005 as part of an SBS2008 install. I need to install reporting services, but now I'm having trouble identifying which version (X64 or X86) I'm running. Is there an easy way of figuring out which installation disk I need to insert for SQL Server 2005? Thanks, Nick.

Which SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack to Install?

I have Windows 2008 Small Business Server Standard Edition.  When I scan for updates I get two different SQL service packs showing up, with the same KB955706 number.  I'm wondering which I should install, or if both, what order to install them in?  The first one is labeled: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3 The second one is labeled: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services Service Pack 3 For applications, I have Blackbaud The Financial Edge v7.78 (accounting package for clubs) installed that uses SQL Server 2005 Express Edition for its database engine.  The new upgrade for this software requires SP3 which is why I need to know which service pack to install.  Also, please let me know if there are any tricks to getting the service packs installed on 2008 SBS Standard Edition.  I know sometimes registry settings need to be changed for SQL service packs to be installed properly. Thank you for your help.

Cannot Install SQL Server 2005 Express due to MSXML 6 sp2

Got an XP Sp3 box - uninstalled SQL server 2008 Express r2.  Now I'm trying to install SQL server 2005 and am getting the ol' MSXML 6 SP2 error which is keeping SQL Server 2005 from installing.  Last time this happend there was the handy Installer Clean Up Utility but now you go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 and it's gone.  So what is the solution now?  Everything I've googled says to use the installer cleaner but it doesn't exist now so what now?

Unable to install SQL Server 2005 SP2 - Unable to install Windows Installer MSI File

I have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem for the past couple of days and I was unable to find an answer to my specific problem in the forum. My OS is Windows XP Professional SP3 on MacBook Pro, using Parallels Desktop 4.0. Every single time Windows update tries to install SQL Server 2005 SP2, it fails. I am using Business Contact Manager with Outlook 2007 and SQL Server stops randomly and I am forced to restart the software. I am not sure if it is relevant to this specific problem but I thought I would make a note of this.I have downloaded SP2 and tried to install it locally but that did not work. Uable to successfully install SQL Server 2005 (Express Edition) Service Pack 3 (KB955706)

After repeated attempts, I am unable to install the MSSQL Server 2005 (Express Edition) Service Pack 3 (KB955706).  From Live Update, the installation initializes but then reports that it was unable to install.  The first couple of times I received Error Code 0x65B, but that doesn't come up any longer. I have ACT! Database version 2007 (9.0) and it is unable to access the database to open it because it uses the MSSQL??  Also, there used to be an MSSQL icon below in my system tray, but that no longer appears.  When I reboot it will be on briefly, but then goes away.. MS Customer Support has attempted to help (Case ID SRX1135612820) but now tell me that this is beyond their expertise.  They had me try to reload MMSQL 2005 but no change. Please help! Thanks!!  Terry

KB955706 failed to install on Microsoft SQL Server 2005

I downloaded and installed Service Pack 3 for Microsoft SQL Server 2005.  During the completion of the installation, there was a Hotfix.exe error that said "A recently applied update, KB955706, failed to install.  Also, a message pops up to reboot the computer.  Does this mean that the Service Pack 3 installation was unsuccessful?  How do I fix this?
