System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPerm

Good Day all,

Having an issue with an outside user accessing my IIS7 box. I do not have this problem when running the website from my host machine. I found this post: Http://forums.asp.net/t/1371394.aspx. I assure you that this is not a solution because I am not storing any of my files on a network share.

What do you think my approach should be.

I already have read rights to IIS user to my BIN folder.

Thanks for the help.

In Reporting Services: Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermissio

Hello all,In Reporting Services through http://myserver/mydbinstance/Pages/Report.aspx blah de blah blah, I get this error:Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.Actually, the report runs just fine, but some fields had the famous #Error in them. I put some old fashioned debug in my report to TRY, CATCH, END TRY and get the problem to the report so that I could see this report finally run in production. Yes, it runs just fine in VS2005. I have custom code in the report code window that does its own custom connection to an SQL database through "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection" and "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand" to pull in data that is not part of any of the datasources in the report. When I execute the report through the Report Manager or Report site under IIS, the report will run, but I get these errors in every field that uses functions to populate the data.I have searched the web for 3 days now, and the best answers involve using either CASPOL or the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Configuration wizard in Administrative Tools on the server. (I understand that the wizard does the same thing as CASPOL, just through a GUI.) I have followed those steps, but still get the error.I do not know what I need to do to make these DLLs th

I am using Itext sharp to create a pdf. I am adding an image and I keep getting this error

Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

it is this bit of code that is causing this

....

string imagepath = "C:\\BMSApplicationFiles\\PDFImages\\bullfrogWeb.gif";

//add the Image to the DOC
  Image bullfrogImage = Image.GetInstance(imagepath);
  bullfrogImage.ScalePercent(60f);
  bullfrogImage.SetAbsolutePosition(10, doc.PageSize.Height - 36);
  doc.Add(bullfrogImage);

If i comment this out, the PDF builds and no errors are thrown (there is just no image)

I don't understand cause I am am trying to do is read a file.

The directory does have full permission granted to IISUser

Any ideas why I am still geting this permissions error?

xbap Request for the permission of type System.Net.WebPermission failed

Hi,

I've developed and XBAP application that talks to a WCF service.  I set my XBAP to partial trust and everything worked just fine.

I then added code to the WCF service that uses System.DirectoryServices to talk to my Active Directory server.  I tried to debug the XBAP after I added this code and I am recieving the following error.  Request for the permission of type System.Net.WebPermission failed.

When I set my XBAP to full trust everything works ok.  However I don't understand why I need to set my XBAP to full trust when it's the WCF service that uses System.DirectoryServices to talk with the Active Directory Server and not the XBAP application.

Thanks in advance!

An exception of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException' occurred and was caught

When the Stored procedure is executed through SQL Server Management Studio, its taking 23 seconds

When the same Stored proc is called through web app, its throwing below copied exception. It is noticed that when the data is more than 100k records this exception is thrown other wise expected records are shown in UI. Another stored proc from the same app returns over 150k records without any excetpion.

Can't conclude that the exception is in Stored proc, because it works from SQL Server Management studio, but throws below exception from Web app.

Your help is appreciated in resolving this issue.

Error: Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.

I have had an ASP.net 3.5 web site working fine until I moved to a new VS 2008 SP2/SQL Server 2008R2 server.
The web site seemed to be working fine with the old VS 2008 web server with a SQL Server 2005 database server.
Before moved to the new VS2008 SP2 web/SQL 2008 database server, testing on a new Vista workstation with
ASP.net development server seemed to be working fine.

However, testing on this new VS 2008R2/SQL Server 2008 server with the a tabase created by backup and restore
from SQL 2005 database showed the following error massge.  There were 14 errors.

Error 9 Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. \\webdataserver\e$\website\webpage.aspx

What is the problem with "AspNetHostingPermission"?

Hi,

This is frustrating, and I don't know how to solve it.

I have a strange problem. I am adding a LinqDatasource object, and set the context:

        protected void LinqDataSource_ContextCreating(object sender, LinqDataSourceContextEventArgs e)
        {
            e.ObjectInstance = new KaruselaDataContext(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectionString"].ConnectionString);
        }

Then I get this error:
The type 'System.Data.Linq.DataContext' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Linq, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.

On web.config I already have this:
<add assembly="System.Data.Linq, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"/>

NOTE: The datacontext is in a different project (DLL proect) where I added a refernce to System.Data.Linq.

is there another way adding a refernce to a web project? or only though teh web.config?

Thanks.

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Bulk load data was expected but not sent

Hi everyone We've had this error twice now from our C# code. Nothing is changing the columns, but I've noticed though that it appears to happen when two threads are attempting to bulk insert into the same table, generally millions of rows. The docs say that SqlBulkCopy.WriteToServer is not guaranteed to be thread-safe, but is this the problem here? It feels like it. I've seen some posts where people appeared to have experienced problems in similar circumstances (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqldatabaseengine/thread/85d51484-6381-46bc-bcce-63b58b362d2d). There is no identity column just a non-unique clustered index that is (spid) process keyed to each thread. Do I need to synchronise access to the table for WriteToServer - is this a known problem? Many thanks Reg --- System.Data.SqlClient. I received the following error...*****System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: There is insufficient free space on disk volume 'C:\' to create the database. The database requires 2739929088 additional free bytes, while only 801185792 bytes are available. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)*****I have looked at the solution recommended on this forum http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=79848 but I am still baffled as to why it says that I don't have enough disk space?  I ran the RESTORE FILELISTONLY command and it told me that the "size" was 1.4 GB and I've got 60GB left. I am starting to resolve that my .BAK is corrupt.  Are there any other reasons as to why I am unable to restore my backup?Thanks for any help in advance!

SMO System.Security.SecurityException

Hello everybody I wrote a backup procedure using smo. this procedure works great on my dev box, but once deployed to the hosting company's web server it throws above exception ("System.Security.SecurityException: That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers.") I did some research on the subject and it seems that hosting companies give you only medium trust in the config file and hence cannot access smo. My hosting admin is a great fellow (www.alsonetworks.com, recommended!) and is willing to help out, so he told me that he: A. installed smo 2008 in the GAC B. added them to the medium.config file Even so, I still receive the error. Now, I'm pretty sure he'd do anything possible to get it to work (sans giving full trust) but i'd got to tell him what to do. So can anybody advise any additional steps that can be done to get this to work? my site is built with vb asp.net 3.5 against mssql 2008, but the hosting site uses mssql 2005. I appreciate your help and advice PS. I've also read a lot about AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers, but I understand that it is irrelevant here as i have not written the assembly. it would be something ms could/should do. is that correct?   heres the code : Public Shared Sub Backup() Dim sqlCon = New SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("Main").ConnectionString) Dim conn As New Server
