'asp' is an unrecognized tag prefix or device filter

Hi There,

I have been using Visual Web Developer Express Edition Beta 1 Refresh and Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 for the past few weeks. For some unforeseen reason VS now reports the error -'asp' is an unrecognized tag prefix or device filter on all my .aspx pages.

The solution compiles and launches without any mishap and the only way to alter page control properties is in design view, as intellisense does not function due to the errors.

I've search the web and found a resolution which was to remove all files in the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application

But the issue still exists.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Add page numbers for paging in data view web part

Hello all,

Has anyone found a solution that will allow me to have page numbers for paging in a data view web part. For instance, if I have 40 items/rows and I set the paging to display 10 items, I'd like the paging to show 1 2 3 4 rather than showing 1-10 and having to click next over and over to get to a specific item.

I found this article, but it is for 2003 and doesn't seem to apply to 2007 or if it does I am not able to really figure out how.

Please help!

Thanks in advance.

Last numbers from a string

I need a vb function to determine the last numerical characters in a string. For example, if the string is Step1, I need it to return 1. If the string is Step32, I need it to return 32.

I'm aware of the string functions like Right, Instr, etc but I'm just not sure how to get what I need. Any suggestions?

WPF+ VS2010: Design mode error "The URI prefix is not recognized"?

our application uses VS2008 and WPF. To apply the styles in the design mode, we have used the "BlendMergedDictionary" class (see the following link) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/995101/how-do-i-get-wysiwyg-design-in-blend-vs-without-merged-resourcedictionary-in-ever It works very well in VS2008 IDE. Now we plan to move our application to VS2010. In VS2010 Design mode (click on ~.xaml design), we get error message:  "The URI prefix is not recognized."    at System.Net.WebRequest.Create(Uri requestUri, Boolean userUriBase)    at System.Net.WebRequest.Create(Uri requestUri)    at MS.Internal.WpfWebRequestHelper.CreateRequest(Uri uri)    at System.Windows.ResourceDictionary.set_Source(Uri value) the styles does not apply at the design time. It works fine in runtime. The following are the code: public class BlendMergedDictionary : ResourceDictionary { /// <summary> /// This class the purpose is allow we reference the "themes" and "styles" in resource dictionaries in separated assemblies /// by using StaticResource. The big problem using StaticResource is that it will complaints at design time can not find the resources /// So we use this class in xaml file, if it is design time, it will load the resource dictionaries in. /// If it is not in design time, it will use the reso

Help: Rounding off numbers

I'm having some problems when it comes to rounding off numbers. In the reports I build the users wants to see the numbers in M$ or k? . that is Million$ or kilo?. So what I do is take the money and divide it by 1.000.000 or just by 1.000. The thing is that if a number is 750.000 and I divide it by 1.000.000 it should say 0,75M? for example. But nooo, it says 1M?, and that's not right. Any suggestions?  Thanks in advanced

How to skip page numbers?

I have a SSRS (2005) report with multiple subreports inside of it. Page numbers are displayed on the footer of the "outer" report. After one specific subreport, though, the user wants to have space to insert three pages from a different source, so she wants the page number on the footer to be increased by three. I tried a gazillion things, but it seems that the only possible way is to print three empty pages and replace them (what a waste) before distributing the report. Any suggestion?

What is the prefix in identity name when using claimprovider and how can recreate it?

I create a custom IP-STS, when i sign in with it in SharePoint i see the identity name is "0?.t|myprovidername|test18", Now I have "username" and want to find its mapped "SPUser", so I need to recreate the login name, I can do following:     String loginName = "0?.t" + "|myprovider|" + username; loginName = SPClaimProviderManager.Local.GetUserIdentifierEncodedClaim(loginName);       but I don't know what is "0?.t" and how can i recreate it, i worry this perfix may change after i deployed the soultion to another server. so it seem not good idea to hardcode it. is there any method to do it?

FBA AD Authentication not working with Domain prefix

Hi all, I have setup a claims based web application with AD FBA Auth and have read the articles of the following blogs: http://blogs.technet.com/b/speschka/archive/2009/11/05/configuring-forms-based-authentication-in-sharepoint-2010.aspx http://www.sharepointchick.com/archive/2010/05/06/configuring-claims-and-forms-based-authentication-for-use-with-an.aspx Everything work except the problem that when I used the domain\username format for Auth at the login form page I get the message that the username or password is incorect. When I used only the login name, I got no message and I could login, but then a access denied message from the SharePoint Server is shown that the user has no permission.  I think the sharepoint server doesn't know that the username is the same like domain\username. Has someone a solution for this problem? Thanks and best regards, Lucian
