This is a list of questions I have gathered from other sources and created myself over a period of time from my experience, many of which I felt where incomplete or simply wrong. I have finally taken the time to go through each question and correct them to the best of my ability. However, please feel free to post feedback to challenge, improve, or suggest new questions. I want to thank those of you that have contributed quality questions and corrections thus far.

There are some question in this list that I do not consider to be good questions for an interview. However, they do exist on other lists available on the Internet so I felt compelled to keep them easy access

Best JavaScript Practices...also some good tutorial sources

Is it better/more popular to have your JavaScript code integrated in your .aspx page, or in a separate .js file?  I know that html code, as well as JavaScript, can get pretty extensive, so it's always nice to keep code in a separate file. What do you recommend?  What are the syntax differences with each? Are there any good online sources for learning/perfecting javascript as it applies to ASP.NET?  Thanks in advance. :)

Tips on Posting Good Questions

Here are a few suggestions that make it sure you get the best answer to your question as quickly as possible: Search for your question on the forums or in Visual Studio's help system first -- it's likely someone may have already answered your question, and you won't have to waste time waiting for it to be answered again Post in the correct forum (see below) -- since the experts in various subject matters tend to stick to the set of forums that focus on those topics, a question about the C# yield keyword posted in the Common Language Runtime forum will likely take a lot longer to be answered than the same question in the C# Language forum. Make sure your title summarizes the specific problem you have --  since we try to answer the maximum number of questions we can with our time, we often skim through question subjects to quickly find the ones that we know the answers to.  A question with a title of "Urgent! Help needed!" is not as likely to get answered as a question with a title of "How do I use the BinaryFormatter with IIS".  A more specific, detailed title is far more likely to get a response than a general one.  Give details about your problem --  rather than "When I call Process.Start I get an exception, please help", provide the exception type, message, and call stack.  If possible pro

ASP.NET Interview Questions & Answers

1.How we implement Web farm and Web Garden concept in ASP.NET?At least give an example ?
A web farm is a multi-server scenario. So we may have a server in each state of US. If the load on one server is in excess then the other servers step in to bear the brunt.
How they bear it is based on various models.
1. RoundRobin. (All servers share load equally)
2. NLB (economical)
3. HLB (expensive but can scale up to 8192 servers)
4. Hybrid (of 2 and 3).
5. CLB (Component load balancer).
A web garden is a multi-processor setup. i.e., a single server (not like the multi server above).
How to implement webfarms in .Net:
Go to web.config and
Here for mode = you have 4 options.
a) Say mode=inproc (non web farm but fast when you have very few customers).
b) Say mode=StateServer (for webfarm)
c) Say mode=SqlServer (for webfarm)
Whether to use option b or c depends on situation. StateServer is faster but SqlServer is more reliable and used for mission critical applications.
How to use webgardens in .Net:
Go to web.config and
Change the false to true. You have one more attribute that is related to webgarden in the same tag called cpuMask.

2.Is there any limit for query string? if means what is the maximum size?.
Servers should be cautious about depending on URI lengths above 255 bytes, because some older client or proxy implementations may not properly support these leng

Windows and Unix Interview Questions & Answers

1.What is the difference between unix and windows?
Unix and Windows use completely different paradigms for run-time loading of code. Before you try to build a module that can be dynamically loaded, be aware of how your system works.

In Unix, a shared object (.so) file contains code to be used by the program, and also the names of functions and data that it expects to find in the program. When the file is joined to the program, all references to those functions and data in the file's code are changed to point to the actual locations in the program where the functions and data are placed in memory. This is basically a link operation.

In Windows, a dynamic-link library (.dll) file has no dangling references. Instead, an access to functions or data goes through a lookup table. So the DLL code does not have to be fixed up at runtime to refer to the program's memory; instead, the code already uses the DLL's lookup table, and the lookup table is modified at runtime to point to the functions and data.

In Unix, there is only one type of library file (.a) which contains code from several object files (.o). During the link step to create a shared object file (.so), the linker may find that it doesn't know where an identifier is defined. The linker will look for it in the object files in the libraries; if it finds it, it will include all the code from that object file.

1.What is the name of c#.net compiler?
The name of c# complier is .CSC

2.what is the main difference between delegate and an event in c#?
They aren't the same. An event is an event. A "delegate" assigns a particular event handler to an object instance. Thus, when an object event happens, the proper procedure/method is called.

An example might help. I frequently code things so that a single method is called for all instances of a class. No matter which button is clicked, call my generic "button_click" method. That method will use the event arguments to determine which button was actually clicked.

In order to assign all button click events to a single method, I have to code the delegates.
